Flat Eric: I recommend trying www.sewandso.co.uk and looking at their Jobelan. I haven't seen the design you mention, so I'm not sure of how the fabric is used (19ct being rather unusual), but stitching over 2 on 28ct Jobelan would equal 14ct Aida, or on 32ct it would be like 16ct. (You probably already know that!!
). Jobelan has a lovely texture to it, comes in loads of lovely colours and is my cross stitch fabric of choice.
They also do 18ct Davosa evenweave (the pale blue might do) as well as 20ct Aida, Bellana and linen, which may be nearer to the right dimensions.
Hope that helps.Elizabeth

Hello everyone,
Everyone must be like me - busy wee bees. Just thought I drop by and let you know whats happening with me in my stitching land.
I am busy doing my exchange pieces. I am doing, obviously, the one for in here and two fb groups I belong to. I am doing two different designs - as one had to go to the USA and I wanted it away in plenty time (3 weeks in and still have no notification its arrived - I only paid for basic air mail as I didn't have enough money to upgrade for recorded).
I have also attempted using navy aida and metallics in one of my cards. I seen the pattern in Ptrest. Found it was a scan from a magazine, I went on FB and asked if anyone knew what magazine it was from. (I didn't want to go against copyright) I didn't have no clue where to look except I had the magazine name. A few kind people replied to my post. Someone told me the issue and date of magazine and then some one in Washington state said they had the pattern they weren't going to do it and said they could post it to me. I insisted in paying the post and something for their time (post was only $1.57 about a pound). Then, 6 days later I got it - think I might do it for them too, as a wee thank you.
Not much else happening in stitching land, as I have only been doing these cards. Wondering if it is ok to stick stitching on a card as I don't seem to have an aperture big enough for one of them. I have also been plodding on with my work stitch and thinking what to do next year during my lunch break. Maybe this one - I originally done it in 1995 and sadly it was a casualty in my house fire. I have all the left over threads (they were in the shed) - might double check if I need any more don't think I do as it is a fair size bag, so just need some evenweave
Picture taken from internet. The magazines were in the shed too, so they got saved, though some magazines were destroyed by damp. So I am slowly putting back together my collection of cross stitch collection as I have every issue since number 1 and I have number 1 a couple of times as it has my favourite wedding stitch in it.
Getting ready to go to shops soon, oh talking of shops I ordered some threads from Katz cross stitch. It was about 10 threads and material. I got it, and noticed one of the threads was wrong I asked for 827 and I got 825. So I sent them a wee email and they said I could keep 825 and they would send out 827 for free - even tho I said I would post 825 back. So very kind of them and very good service.
Keep well everyone - catch you later.

Hi everyone,
Hope all those who have been poorly are on the mend.
fos - love the two Halloween stitches. I've never done a Halloween piece although we have lots of decorations and ornaments, mostly from the US, that come out each year. May have to add a stitched piece to the stash.
Elizabeth - lovely update, such wonderful colours.
mags_cat - I don't appear to be a member of the Flickr group so can't see your pics
JCS1 - the WW1 piece looks peacefully at home in the Church. How lovely that the wider public can enjoy your work.
tricksie/Ruth-honey - I too have free tickets to the Simply Christmas show. I'll be there on the Saturday with my Mum. Have you been before?
pm2326 - lovely update on the snowman piece, it's stitching up really fast!
nmm - RF looks amazing.
b-e-g - that's a really cute kit for your friend to try.
sweetcarer - lovely photo of your flower A-Z. I too would want to recreate that - it looks stunning.
I'm plodding on with Girl with Cosmos. Have done some of the hair which is a lot of blending two shades together but you can't really tell iyswim? The dress is about 4 different shades of white too, so I'm tending to move about the design a bit to keep from getting vexed with it!

Looking forward to Strictly from Blackpool tonight, and some stitching time (obviously!)
Take care all

Afternoon
Its very quiet on here lately, hope you're all ok and just too busy stitching to spend time on here!
My cough & cold have finally left so I'm no longer getting up at ridiculous times in the middle of the night :j whilst this is good for my health its meant my stitching has slowed down :rotfl:
Update 4 - I'm having a few hours off from stitching as waiting until I can justify putting the living room light on before I go back to do some more backstitch2014-11-16 12.24.03 by pm2326, on Flickr
The kit says I need a 14x11 frame but I always like a mount so I think I would need something at least 16 x 13 which you cant get off the shelf, I would need to order one or take it to the framers so we're talking £30+
As the piece wont be on display all year I was considering stretching it onto a box canvas rather than putting it in a frame as I've seen it done like that in magazines. I can get one from fleabay or amagon for about £10.
Has anyone else tried this before?0 -

All done
Reminds me of our sleepy girl. She's been having a very lazy weekend-either snoozing on hubby's lap, or on the radiator bed.
Coxy-I don't think I've been to the Christmas show at the Excel before. Been to something at the NEC a while ago, but shows have changed quite a bit in the last few years. The excel is fairly nearby, so worth a visit, if only to buy some cheese for Christmas! Got myself a Christmas t shirt to wear (probably melt wearing my Christmas jumper-gets so hot in those places!).Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Thanks to all the girls in the Cross Stitch Cafe! You're all fantastic! :A0 -
I know I still owe you the photo of the Winnie the Pooh cross-stitch I started the other week.
I managed to finish another heirloom square, so just two more to do and that's one element of the quilt completed.0
