I was wondering if I could join this thread please? I've been in hospital the past few months as I'm struggling with mental illness. Its made it really hard for me to concentrate on my cross stitch.
I've tried smaller designs but I seem to find that the smaller they are the more thread changes there are and I'm struggling at the moment.
Can anyone recommend a kit or a pattern please?
If I'm allowed to join this group I look forward to getting to know you all, I've already seen some amazing work!
Welcome HappySocks!
How about a blackwork or Assisi kit? One colour to deal with, so it may be easier to manage.
Eta-looks like we had the same idea, nmm! Also, if you like the Lizzie Kate style, I believe there was a nice free Easter design on her website which I've stitched before. Works up quickly and you can use colours you already have.
*just checked and it's a 'hello Spring' design. Not sure if the other one was her or not then...*Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Thanks to all the girls in the Cross Stitch Cafe! You're all fantastic! :A0 -
Hi All,
Only on quick before work - thinking of Happysocks (welcome). If you are thinking of only one colour - why not do one of these I done from Tams Creations - they are free. They are only one colour about 5 skeins from my mind and you choose the colour and material - so its up to you.
They got nicknamed my purpleworks in here.
Oh heres the link to the site for the design
http://www.tamscreations.com/Pages/Freebies.aspx - its parts one and two.
Will be back later and do a proper catch up.
Kind wishes to all,

) and have picked out a design similar to yours which was in Cross Stitcher magazine. There was a reader photo showing the design stitched on black which got me thinking - the bridesmaids will be in midnight blue and I have some dark blue evenweave with silver sparkles so may opt for this
I think this would be lovely as it would match the colour theme of the wedding. I'm quite enjoying stitching it especially as there are no fractionals, back stitching or French knots :rotfl:DD born 14/12/11

Sweetcarer your purple work is lovely, not sure I could mnaznage something like that yet, looks very detailed!
I think I'm going to try the 'hello spring' pattern from the Lizzie kate site.0 -
That looks lovely Maria and hello to you too0

Louise - love the new DMC colours they are so vibrant. FOS I'm not surprised that you have ordered them, I have to say that I am tempted to buy them myself. Where have you bought them from?
Ayeshalush - if you would like the Henry chart you are welcome to it, I won't stitch it again. If there is anyone else that would like it then I'm sure Ayeshalush will pass it on once she's finished with it. I know you would still need to buy thread and fabric but it maybe cheaper than buying a whole kit. PM me if you would like to.
Abi has kindly given me permission to add a picture of her latest SAL here. The SAL costs £3 which I think is an absolute bargain. If anyone wants some more information let me know and I'll point you in Abi's direction.
I ordered the threads pack from cross-stitch-heaven which is where I think Louise bought hers from. I haven't seen them advertised anywhere else in the UK though I didn't look very hard as this is a site I have used before.
I am defo interested in the SAL now I've seen the picture. Do I need to pm you?0
