Hello everyone. Just a quick hello as I'm really tired and will probably head off to bed soon. Had a very busy weekend visiting friends and family in Glos. My auntie drove me totally crazy and I'm getting rather annoyed with her. Thank goodness I don't live nearby as I don't think I could stand seeing her frequently. She managed to make some comment about me being 35 (I'm 33!) and when I corrected her, she kept bringing it up again and again. I really didn't care that much anyway, but the more she kept mentioning it, the more it was making a big deal of it. Then she gave me a bag of gifts for my brothers 30th birthday-which was last year! He's 31 in a couple of weeks. Sigh! There was so many other things that she kept banging on about too. She really latches onto things and obsesses about them. She pretty much forced me into taking out this local residents card, even though I told her I wouldn't get any use out of it anyway. I know I should've stood up to her, but sometimes it easier to give in and let her have her way.
Apart from that, the weekend wasn't too bad. Mum loved the crochet throw I'd made. We went out on Sunday for a drive and saw so many daffodils!

Lovely updates from you all. I really like seeing how the designs progress.

Good evening. What lovely sewing your all doing. Still haven't got mine out yet, though I haven't been idol. Trying to get paint of the fireplace in the spare bedroom, it didn't work on the brickwork but got the paint of the tiled mantle. It will have to stay painted I think. I might do a small project to get me back in the swing

    Night all take care

well DS2 woke up wanted a cuddle and went straight back to sleep - guess who didn't !!!!

Quick catch up before I try getting to sleep again.

JCS - ouch for scratched toes in the middle of the night. Your current project looks lovely. Looking forward to seeing it finished,

Beg - anemones look beautiful and OH has done a great job of framing it. Sheep are coming along really quickly and your knitting is lovely.

Mrs Ceejay total sympathy re the cold. I have been exactly the same for the past 4 days but hoping I am almost over it now.

Fos glad your grandson liked his superhero name, so nice when your work is appreciated.

nmm nope not bored of updates, will miss him when he is finished.

Ruth sorry your aunt was a bit of a pain but as you say sometimes it's just easier to ride the waves than have any problems. Glad you had a nice time with your mum.

right have watched the sewing bee so off to see if I can get back to sleep now!

BEG - your Anemones are lovely, they look so nice in the frame you've chosen. Ditto what others have said about the speed. Your cushions are great, I wouldn't havd thought of finishing like that. Also, I good start to Ewe are my sunshine, it will bd finished in no time.

Sweetcarer - sorry to hear that things have been rough with your sister. I think sometimes it harder when people want to move on at different speeds and can lead to falling out. Keep your chin up.

JCS1 - you've made a great start on youf new piece it's looking really nice.

Mrs Ceejay - your Peacock is gorgeous, I see what you mean about the colours not being as bright as you thought but I think the slightly muted colours really look good. I'm sure the gold wil really set him off. I too am not a fan of stitching with metallic but echo the use of Thread Heaven, I wouldn't stitch metallic without it.

FOS - glad your Suprrhero piece was well received.

nmm - I'm not bored of your updates just look on in awe at your patience, he's looking really good. How many morevweeks do you think before he's finished?

Ruth - sorry to hear that things were a little stressful with your Aunt. Mine can sometimes be a bit like that but I generally put it down to her age, she's coming 86, and the fact that she has been on her own so long. Glad you had a nice time overall.

Still no stitching for me but I have knitted 2 hedgehog hats which I now ned to embroider a face on them. I know they are off topic but I'll to post a photo of them.

    Morning all

Wow, some beautiful cross stitching going on. beg your anemones look beautiful, I love the colours. All of the others look wonderful too, it's so nice to see the progress and then the finished article.

I've not done much stitching for the last week or so as work has been crazy busy and I've had to work in the evenings, but it's calmed down now. I also managed to hurt my ankle at netball training last night, I think I've strained my achilles tendon, so will need to take it easy for a bit - which sounds like a perfect excuse to sit with my feet up and do some stitching :D

I though I'd post some pics, since some of you said you like them so much :p

This is the one I'm working on at the moment, which I started god knows how many years ago. I'd done about 2/3 of the green before putting it away.

And this is my stash :) the Yellow Coats Sampler I intend to frame and put in DS2's room. Collecting Daisies I just though was so sweet, so that's for me. It has quite a few fractional stitches so I might get some evenweave for that, rather than the aida that's in the kit.

I've ordered the chart for Kissing the Face of God, so that little lot should keep me busy for the foreseeable future! :rotfl:

Thank you guys :D I reckon if I get a move on no more than 2 months left to complete him, luckily its all big blocks of colour so its filling in quickly.

BigBird, the feng shui kit is lovely, good progress so far and I like the 2 in your stash, the yellow coats will be a fun stitch :)

Beg, anemones are beautiful framed, your DH should go into business framing (if he isn't already) may i ask does he lace them or use a sticky backboard? Your cushions are great at first glance I thought you posted the wrong photo as I couldn't see any knitted ones due to the way you finished them, they look so professional :T Mine would just be a square cover, lol.
