Just popping by before DH comes home and we go out to say thanks very much for all the birthday wishes. I spent the bulk of the (school) day in a caf! chatting with friends who arrived/left at different times - it was heavenly. Washing up and other chores are being left for tomorrow when normal life resumes! I feel very lucky to have such fab friends both on here and in RL as well as my DH, our children and our cats. Counting my blessings today.

will catch up with everyone's posts over the weekend... take care xx

A bit late I know but HAPPY BIRTHDAY SQ. :bdaycake:

never too late for cake AOT!! thanks... oh and not quite enough candles ha ha

Mcculloch my new washer is the same make as yours and definitely too posh for our kitchen. The delivery men were sweeties and took their shoes off and one even wiped a muddy footprint he made with his own sock (though I told him not to!) It was hilarious really when our kitchen floor and cupboards are falling apart... still I appreciate being treated with respect and all customers should be treated equally should they not?

Hi Kidcat - I made leaves, see them on FB. Could you have some cereal? Mr OG often gets up in the night and has porridge or cereal (but he is nearly 95!) - seems much more appropriate than risotto at that hour!

Could I join you all on Face Book?
    Kind Regards x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Back from my lovely week spent with DB & SIL and reluctant to start ordinary life again.

Have read through the week's posts and can't remember anything except Kidcat's dental problems - hope you will soon be feeling better KC, tooth problems are excruciating.

Happy Birthday SQ; absolutely right to leave all chores till tomorrow.

Have a wonderful day in Bournemouth Fuddle. Hopefully you will get enough sunshine to enjoy a walk along the beach.

I'd planned on having a relaxing weekend but have just been informed that we have one couple coming to lunch tomorrow and another couple coming for afternoon tea.:wall:

Happy birthday SQ! Enjoy your roast beef (hope that's what you're having after all that daydreaming!).
Have just let myself have a relaxing day today as it isn't a work day but still feel annoyed with the world. Except you lot of course.
  • Good news Nutty?

Glad you had a nice day SQ.

I passed, just having a nice evening now with OH. Got some new fabric so will spend tomorrow sewing with the last of the marking in between. Got one set of PJs cut out and had to think hard as I couldn't work out how to get it all on but I managed it by refolding. Very pleased with myself, feels like a very OS thing to do. Just have to remember how to do it for the other set for which I bought the same amount. :D

My mum has had some of her medication increased, one of them from 20mg a day to 2 tablets of 90mg. It is to try and stabalise the angina she has, they think this is what has caused all the pain again. Only time will tell if this is correct I suppose. The nurses etc were all lovely and when we went to leave they said that my mum was so polite and always apologising for calling them. She has been on the ward before, so I think some of them remembered her.
Now mum mentioned yesterday the last holiday she ever had with my dad was a cruise to the caribean, and she wants to go again. Lots of lovely happy memories, well she asked me to go. So I am, not until next year but something else for her to look forward too - and me!!! Youngest DD is a collage student doing health and social care, she is going to go to my mums every other day to do the housework, this was mums suggestion, so we will all do what we can to keep her as independent as possible.
Tomorrow we are going to the cash and carry, seams as tho OH is firmly converted into sorting out reducing our shopping bills. He is even trying to stop smoking, he has started to not have as many - baby steps.

Happy Birthday SQ - mine tomorrow so does that make us nearly twins???

Had a big hair chop today - gone relatively short and asymmetric and so pleased with the result, it has given me just the lift I needed.

Combined with being pretty much up to date with everything - feedback forms done, 2 DLA forms submitted, OU essay submitted and product review questionnaire done I feel pretty good. We have a sitter coming tomorrow night and we are off out to the pub for dinner -life is good.

Big hugs to all of you who need or want one and wishing you all the sort of week I've had, busy but ultimately purposeful and fulfilling - X
