Morning All
Happy Birthday SQ, have a lovely day!. And for what it's worth FPK, I think the questions for that test are ridiculous - I failed dismally and I have lived here all my born days.
All quiet here at Chip Towers, the days gallop by. Rain, it never seems to stop, would really like some nice dry sunny days so that I can get outside to sort out the garden.
Off to my second jewellery class today, I'm going to play with 'textures' today and a big rolling mill - such fun!
Have a good day, hugs for everyone!Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -
I'm very lucky with my neighbours, but my daughter has moved into a brand new HA 4 bedroom on a new estate - and her neighbours are ex-homeless from Glasgow. Been in the place 6 weeks and the garden is a wasteland of rubbish and torn black binbags, they have no carpets and clatter up and down 2 flights of stairs day and all night, windows wide open in the freezing cold and the whole family constantly yelling and swearing at top of their voices. Life is def changing - and not for the better is it!
Oh Mar that sounds awful. Having lived with bad neighbours i can imagine her stress at moment is incredibly high. She must keep complaining it truly is those that make most noise that get somewhere.0 -
Morning Toughies, another very disturbed night here with showers so heavy right through the night they make the house sound like being inside a drum, the poor old lurcha is in a right old state and we've had not a lot of sleep. I'll be very relieved to see the jetstream move itself somewhere else and for our wretched weather so settle to something a bit calmer and quieter!!!
SQ HAPPY BIRTHDAY, have a lovely day and remember that getting older is something that happens to other people, you stay the same as you always are it's just the numbers that change!!!
McCULLOCH huge congratulations of being classified as outstanding in your teaching assessment, brilliant stuff, well done!!!
PX87 woohoo pet, clearing another 3 of your debts is wonderful, all your hard and difficult decisions are really paying off love, well done you, keep up the good work!!!
Have a good day everyone, I'm going to take myself into town for a few grocery items that I need and a trip to the £ store for some necessary things, Lyn xxx.0 -
Just a quick note before I pop off for the test...
Mrs Chip, the questions are ridiculous, although the actual tests are a bit easier to pass than the ones posted on popular news websites. They always seem to have a small number of 'free' questions such as when are mince pies eaten etc. and with a fairly decent knowledge of history and politics (my PhD is related so that helps!) its not to bad...but honestly it is a silly test. My OH is British raised with British raised parents and a secondary history teacher and he struggles with some of the questions!
Mar--the sad thing is my OH and I are both 30 and the neighbours are late 50s early 60s on both sides. Both sides are louder, don't take as much care with their rubbish etc. One side is mostly ok, they just leave things in the alley way and can be a bit loud of an evening. But the other side....and I thought young people were supposed to be the party animals! Its just lack of consideration for the community and it makes me very sad. I really feel for your DD. It doesn't help that it can make you feel uncomfortable coming and going when they've the windows and doors open, never knowing when they'll decide to take a notice of you.0 -
PX87 - well done, I know how good it feels
MrsC - looking forward to seeing the results of your class today0 -
Happy Birthday!
Congratulations Muccollach, super to have the recognition.
I knew I was doing the right thing quibbling over direct debit for water and sewerage. I used half of what they predicted in a month so therefore the money is in my account and not accumulating in theirs. I will now pay the bill as and when it comes in by putting money aside.
No need for any more bottled water for tea making purposes! I have sourced hard water tea bags which make quite a nice cup of tea. Hmmm beat add a couple of £ to that water bill eh?
All is well here, just very busy but that's a good thing. I had an evening of yesterday and caught up on some crochet. I've requested an evening off every week as I do need to just shut off from it and rest at some point, especially when it's a weekend shift. Got this weekend off where I plan to relax and have family time. We're off to Bournemouth for a walk along the front so will need to wrap up warm!
Weather dire here and seems to be continually. Webbed feet soon to sprout. The shed is falling to pieces what with the deluges. We're hoping DH can save it/parts of it come the spring but if not we just hope it gets us through this winter period.0 -
Pooky ((hugs)) hope you can sleep tonight.
I am exhausted and not sleeping well, but mainly as my tablets are supposed to be taken 6 hours apart even during the night, and I need to eat with them, I find that its better not to go sleep until after taking it as I would struggle to wake and eat in the early hours.
Hi Kidcat, can the night ones be taken with a glass of milk? You can then go back to sleep? Just check the leaflet?0 -

Needs to be food and as I have reacted badly to least set they were very clear I had to eat properly each time. I asked could I have a biscuit and they said it wasn't enough. Cold risotto at 2.00am is not fun.0 -
A bit late I know but HAPPY BIRTHDAY SQ. :bdaycake:
Congratulations mcculloch. :TUse it up, Wear it out, Make it do, Do without.0 -
Hi Kidcat - I made leaves, see them on FB. Could you have some cereal? Mr OG often gets up in the night and has porridge or cereal (but he is nearly 95!) - seems much more appropriate than risotto at that hour!Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0
