Glad I popped in for 5mins..... mines a bit bigger round the waist these days and on his days of he would make a good stand in for the little bloke on last of the summer wine ! But still would not swap him .......
No, nor would I, I've only just got him housetrained!:rotfl:Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -
Can somebody tell me how/why you can meet a gorgeous man, tall and charming with lovely black hair, dressed in black leather with a really nice bike....
... and then one day wake up beside a ratty, crabby, grumpy old bald sod who never stops moaning and drives you MAD?:mad: Just tell me how that happens! :rotfl:
My hubby was the same , on his bike , set of full leathers looking pencil slim, and was so nice and charming........But WHF happened I dont know either.....
Trouble is he could say that about me....Pencil slim, long black hair , no worries, good job, 2 stone lighter:eek:..........Yes thats what getting married do to most of us , stress of jobs, children, money, health ,house, etc etc.................................
It will take more than a new year to change us all back to how we once were....LOL..
I didnt sit up for the new year to come in , I knew it would come whether I stayed up or not, went to bad at 9......
FUDDLE.... I thought that a 15 hour day doing caring work is far too much, be careful you dont burn yourself out like me .........
So I wish you all a happy new year peaceful and good health.....Sheila..0 -
Well. I dispatched mine some years ago but if he were still around he might have been wondering how a sweet natured girl who adored him and tried everything in the world to make him happy could have turned out to be a nagging harridan, always on his case and treating him with complete disdain. The answer would be staring at him in the mirror.
Glad everyone had a good evening yesterday. I made it to the dinner party which was unbelievably wonderful. I had no idea that Roman Catholic priests were such inspired cooks. The table looked amazing, there were 12 of us there and the food (four courses) was divine. The only downside was that although every dish looked fantastic and the 'mmmms' and 'aaaaaaahs' showed enthusiastic appreciation, I couldn't taste a thing. There was I ruining my diet and not even able to enjoy it.
Never mind. The company was hysterical and we had a memorable time.
Onward and upward. As this is moving year, most of it will be spent in a complete de-clutter, ( it sounds simple put like that, doesn't it?) and packing. You might think that 7 months is ample time to do this. You might think that! However, we are talking about clutter on a monumental scale here.
Fuddle, I could just be joining you on Flylady. I'm trying not to make too many plans because when I do that I can actually hear God laughing.
xI believe that friends are quiet angels

Have trouble remembering how to fly.0 -
I still like mine!!!!! Neither of us bothers much about what the outside looks like but the bit inside hasn't changed much over the years and it's just such fun to share life with someone who laughs at the same things I do, no matter how small the amusement plus he's my best friend and definately the kindest person I've ever known, yes he's untidy and whenever he can't find something it's always 'what have you done with my..........' but the good stuff outweighs the small vexations and if I was perfect (never, never, never in a million months of Sundays going to happen!) I'd expect him to be too but then I'd have had to leave as I just wouldn't be able to cope!!! He's good enough for me, warts and all, Lyn xxx.0

Will try that next time, thanks0

Mar - I was going to suggest what boultdj has - find a way of doing turnips without him - micro them and they are much easier to handle
We had a quiet night last night, and if I am honest it wasnt what I wanted, it occurred today that I hate NYE and always have, there is an expectation in my mind of NYE that I never achieve. Looking back alot centres on my upbringing, my parents hated alcohol and all things mildly related.
Yet I have done the same to my kids, we did nothing last night or today to make the day special, so I am making my new years resolution simple, to plan a NYE and NYD that we can all enjoy
I made a massive oops as well, got up this morning to no bread and no bananas, so had to dash to Mr A, only to discover no bananas, so then off to Mr T to find the elusive yellow items. I managed to bag a few bargains in Mr T, 1.3kg gammon in decorate your own box reduced from £10 to £2, so I grabbed three. Kids all eat gammon and so it makes a good roast dinner with no arguments
One of our neighbour's cats (a rather expensive looking british shorthair) has been visiting us for a few weeks, she simply wandered in one day and sat down. Usually she stays half an hour then leaves, however over Christmas she has been visiting more and more and staying longer, she spent the night a couple of days ago. I think her owners have been away the entire time and have just had a neighbour pop in to feed her, I am not sure they have been very regular at feeding though as some days she is ravenous and eats everything in sight, others she is just looking for some love. Its going to be interesting to see what happens when they come back.
OH and I are at each others throats today, I think its having him home for the two weeks, it sort of proves we would kill each other if he was here full timeHe is back at work Friday and other than the fact I have to take him and collect him (little car is still awaiting parts) I am looking forward to having the kids to myself for the day
he has always worked over Christmas, so him having been off for two weeks almost is very odd.

Yess GB!
That's because you're not meant to spend 24/7 together. My mum went back to work just before my dad retiredShe was worried about him getting under her feet in the house all day, as it is, they are both pretty busy so manage not to annoy each other too much. Sounds like you need to find him a hobby that takes him out of the house a couple of days a week (and the same for you!).

Or a hobby where he is only home a couple of days a week :rotfl:0
