    Happy New Year you lot!

I've still got 5.5 hours of 2013 left. Night shift calls. Taking in sparkling fruit juice, cheese, cold meat, pickles and cookies. We put it out at midnight and any patient that wants some is told to head to the desk at midnight.

Happy New Year! Have a relaxing day everyone. May we cope with whatever comes our way in this new year. 2013 was a mixture of awfulness and stress but the start of our new lives. Knowing that life has unbelievable twists and turns of late, I'm a bit perturbed at what may come our way while determined to make a calm life that has glimmers of happy memories. :)

I'm strapped for time today and that is the crux of my resolution - to be kind to myself. I'll be joining Fly Lady when the girls go back to school. My rota's are in now the craziness of the festive period is over. I'm working 3 hours while the girls are at school and 4 hours on an evening plus 7am-10pm every other weekend. It leaves me little time to just relax so I want to aim for 1 hour 'me time' daily in order not to burn out. House work and organisation is important to me so I can't let that slide otherwise I will get very stressed.

Thank you so much for the vinegar tip. 2 rounds this morning and my kettle is clear :) I actually thought it was on the blink as it was taking ages to boil (my electric!) but when I looked in I was shocked at te coating that had developed in just 5 weeks! Malt vinegar at 21p will be my friend :)

Also the astonish paste has been sat on the hob steel bits for 30 mins and brought off the bit burn that was on there so working very hard for me :)

KEZ I have a new number so I wouldn't have got your text. I'm not wanting to give out my details anymore and hope you all understand my want for a little anonymity. :)

DH is making out evening meal which will be braised beef and veg with HM roasties. I'm making a batch of soup for lunch. What dried herbs should I add do you think?

Happy New Year everyone. Like jem says a new start :)

Fuddle, I'm not up on working regs any more but hoping you get decent breaks on your weekend shifts, 15 hours is a long day. Hope you don't mind me poking me snout in, just looking after you pet.

    sq :)
