Just been to the Co-Op in the village for the last bits and pieces and used up my dividend vouchers which I've had pinned to the notice board since last christmas and thanks to them having a half price offer on them I've just bought NEXT Years Christmas Pudding for £3 it's thier truly irrisistable range and is to use by April 2015. I'm going to use the one I got last year at half price this year as it's got until April 2014 to use it by!!! I do love to be ahead of the game, I do love a bargain!!!!!0

mar a few months ago I was yearning to move to Stornaway when we had the horrendous summer temperatures down here and it looked like one of the few places on the map that was cool - but I'm glad I'm not there now! Weather is eeky to say the least.
Lyn you're braver than I am, venturing to the shops. I have decided to stay put at home this morning and do some baking with Dd19. Had planned to get into the village early to get a nice loaf from the deli as a treat and hunt out some suitable fruit to dunk in the chocolate fountain tomorrow, but the rain is blowing sideways and I have opted out. Instead, I've made a loaf which actually seems to be rising so may even be edible :rotfl: and we're going to ice the cake, make posh short crust for mince pies and some gingerbread people to share at the parkrun on Christmas Day morning.
Take care today toughies and may I wish everyone a warm, safe and happy time. Hello to Pops if you are reading along, and to everyone else who posts or reads along.0 -
Happy Christmas eve eve as my girls say.
Yesterday was suppose to be a day of sorting out the last Christmas cards to be delivered, and visit the grave to put Christmas wreathes on. As usual nothing goes according to plan, We managed to deliver cards and a fleeting visit to friends. Mum is ill again and got taken into hospital with breathing difficulties so nothing else was done. We ended up chasing over to see her. She has another infection, so she is staying at my brothers house so they can keep an eye on her.
This morning we went to the doctors and he gave her some repeat prescriptions and advised her to stay with my brother for a few days. Mum wants to go home, but we worry about her. My brother has 3 little ones, and they are so excited about Christmas. She will be kept entertained and they will make sure nanny rests and happy.
OH is at work and is expected home very late tonight as it seems lots of people have ordered very last minute. He has over 120 different addresses to go to. So santas little helper it is.
This afternoon we are taking the hamper to the dog sanctuary, they are open after 130, so will be there as soon as they open.
Please stay safe everyone, the winds are getting up here, and the rain just starting.
Take care xBSC member 137

afternoon all!
Sorry haven't been on been rushing round sorting everything out. Still haven't finished Christmas present shopping. So were planning on doing that tomorrow, last minute i know.
All the food shopping is done though, just need bread, milk, butter and kitty food.
Friday night went really well, i'm so proud of ds1 he got up in front of everyone for his medal. Winner of the Halloween race
DS2 was being a nightmare hiding under chairs and acting up. In the end he calmed down, it was just too much for him. He's becoming so shy its unreal, ds1 is shy painfully shy but ds2 is even worse. I had to pin him in my arms when we were stood in the line for the buffet. Got some funny looks but thats normal for us. One of the ladies who round it came over and we had a little chat, she was saying her son used to be the same, he has aspergers but is 21 now. She said anyone gives you any more looks you come straight to me and i'll sort them out. This is a safe place for all of you to come and have fun. After everyone saw her chatting to us they started smiling instead.
So after a rocky start it went well.
My dad took us and brought us back tried to give him £10 for his trouble and he wouldn't have any of it. even though he was working at the time, so ferrying us about would have cost him money. Silly thing he is, at least i can pay him back with a lovely relaxing xmas dinner.
Its really windy here and the rains lashing all over, rather it be snow though. Mar pass some snow here!
Hope you all have a fab christmas!0 -
Power went off at 11 and just back on. Wind screaming and howling, high speed horizontal snow. And they said tomorrow will be the bad day for here LOL!0

Afternoon everyone.
Merry Christmas eve’s eve all.
Pops, I too wish you all the best over the Christmas period. Hope everything is well.
Been busy this past week. I’m glad I listened to my instincts and not go to counselling. I’m still struggling to get rid of this lergy that I’ve had now for nearly 2 weeks. OH is still at work & if all goes well he should break up later today.
Yesterday we nipped to the market to collect Christmas Dinner and was disappointed that the slab of lamb we ordered wasn’t put on the lorry - therefore, we have had to swap to Pork. But, On the plus side we managed to get all the fruit & veg required (Plus some for OH‘s Grandfather‘s present) for £10! A cabbage the size of a football was the bargain of the day. £0.99!!
Today, My mum is needing to nip to the local supermarket just for a few odds and ends, Although the weather is awful, I’ve decided to go along with her so she has some support.
Then its back here to get ready for tomorrow. As we are having a Christmas day on the eve for my side of family then off to OH’s on Christmas eve.
I doubt I’ll be able to post much over the next few days, So I would like to take the time to say thank you to each & everyone of you who has supported OH & I throughout the year. I hope you all have a very merry Christmas xxFuture goals:

Afternoon all, Just back from the dog sanctuary. Oh dear what a nice thing I did but boy does it make you cry. They have a good few waiting to find a loving family. I did shred a good few tears as I left, OH had instructed me not to look. They aren't rehoming over the festive period tho, which is sensible.
Sat watching santa claus movie, feeling festive now :-)
Town centre was really busy today, we decided not to stop. What we have, we have of that makes sense - everything else can wait.
POPS if your reading I hope you are doing well and still going on you regular trips out. best wishes for Christmas - this goes for everyone else. I wish you all a safe and happy Christmas and you enjoy your time with your loved ones. xBSC member 137

Lyn, I am so glad that we are sheltering you from the worst of the weather! The wind is screaming round the house at the moment but I feel very smug as I don't have to go out again until Boxing Day - well, to the church of course, but that's next door so no problem.
I think I am almost ready now. Mince pies - tick. Pigs in blankets - tick. Christmas cake x3 - tick. Roasties for 50+ - tick. Sausage rolls - tick. Just a few kilos of sprouts to peel, ditto parsnips and presents to wrap. All doable tomorrow morning and giving me the afternoon off to curl up by the fire with a hot drink and a good book. Bliss!
I may not get on here till after Boxing day so may I wish you all a wonderfully happy Christmas, and even if it is not too wonderful I hope that there will be moments when you are filled with peace.
Thank you all for being there and just being so loving.
