Knackered. Got called in to work tomorrow for emergency surgeries that can't wait until after Christmas. As a result, I've had to do a load of cooking that I'd planned to leave for tomorrow.
Dozen Scotch Eggs made and cooling. Mincemeat tarts and Jam tarts made. Tables cleared.
Now, I've got to dig out a uniform and find the wonderful white pantyhose I'm required to wear.
Enjoy your days and remember life goes on even if the turkey/goose/salmon/beef catches fire/dries up/falls to bits!0 -
OK - leftover marzipan. What can I do with it?
(Marzipan fruits are out as I do not have a creative bone in my body)I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Roll the marzipan into balls and dip one side in melted chocolate.

Morning all
VJs - chuck it - it's the work of the devil.
Wonder - hope the surgeries went as well as they could.
Monna - hope you get that sit down!!
What a night, I seriously though our house was going to fall apart. My heavy iron and glass garden table has tried to escape, but everything else outside was tied down so survived. I do have water cascading in above the kitchen window and the conservatory is sporting a lake but nothing that won't dry out/be fixable when it eventually stops!
I love Christmas eve, my favourite day. We have guests this afternoon so a quick Hoover through will make the house presentable, I'll make a batch of sausage rolls in a bit when the oven goes on for the turkey, beef is going in the SC and tonight's meal is "cook your own" on the raclette so I just need to chop some meat and veg and bung it all on the table.
Have a lovely Christmas one and all and don't forget to leave out a treat for Father Christmas.....he deserves it"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Morning everyone
Happy Christmas Eve to you all. Been MIA the last couple of days as my weight took a fall which usually means hospitalisation. Luckily I've managed to avoid it by the skin of my teeth. My Christmas "diet" will consist of full-fat milk mixed with the good old-fashioned marvel milk to try and bulk up on calories. I honestly don't mind though - I'm just SO glad to be home for Christmas!!
Expecting my daughter back from London sometime today - just praying the trains are running okay or I can see the OH doing the round journey to collect her! Lots of silly things to do today - prepping all the veg for tomorrow is top of the list and changing beds. At least it's stopped raining - the weather was awful yesterday and I saw two trees down in the park this morning when I walked Dexter.
Anyway, just wanted to stop by and wish you all a very Happy Christmas - thank you all for the support and kindness you've shown me..............I look forward to spending 2014 with you all.
Much love,

Morning all, Just been into town to get a couple of bits I forget. In aldi al the meat was 50% discount so I will be playing freezer tetris with my bargains. Sainsbobs was manic only needed liquid ibuprofen for DD, after her op she seams to have gained yet another infection and it spread from her nose to the jaw - one side of her face is totally swollen. She has antibotics from the doctor so hopefully they will kick in soon.
We then popped to the farm shop, they have a fresh meat section - it was very busy too. Lots of people have ordered everything from them. To help out the local elderly they do a home delivery service for free.
Well housework needs doing, sausage rolls to make. OH has 78 houses to visit today with parcels, please remember to thank the delivery guys and girls today. They will be out until all the parcels are delivered.
Take care xBSC member 137

We've to get the worst of it around midday, but it's blowy now. Forth Bridge 60mph gusts already. I couldn't sleep for the noise last night and was sitting here until half two drinking tea and reading the news from down south.0

Good morning everyone.
I was out and about at a disgusting hour this morning - was still very dark - so could get to M&S in town and back again before the day had really begun. Was amazed at how many people were already in the place but at least no big queues had time to build up. Not very MS I know but M&S do lovely gluten free food such as pigs in blankets, stuffing, turkey gravy, mince pies, as well as Christmas cake. I can't be bothered with making such things this year so used a gift card given to me by a friend to stock u. Lovely!:T
We had wild and windy weather overnight but seem to have escaped the worst of the storms that have hit other places. Been horrified by news reports and pictures on TV. Just seen where people were trapped on train for 6 hours overnight. Hope you are all well, safe and snug.
I hope all of you travelling have trouble free journeys. The only place I'll be going now is church tomorrow.
Wishing you all a happy, loving Christmas. :A:A:AUse it up, Wear it out, Make it do, Do without.0
