hi all!
Depression is a horrible thing, you don't realise how ill you are till it gone way over the edge. I'm so pleased the counselling worked for you LL and you were able to gain your self confidence back and leave such as awful relationship x
I'm being referred to the GP's counselling service as well as seeing living life counselling service. I'm also going on two courses with them one is just for women and another is for 3 weeks and is for building confidence.
Could maybe be an idea to see if your local mind is offering any free courses like this.
Shegar hope they get help sorted out soon.
Jem instead of a weighted blanket my gp suggested ordinary blankets instead. There easy to kick off but the extra weight should help your ds to sleep.
Well thats it, the lads have school :j:j:j:j and don't go back till 6th January.
Still haven't finished shopping but i have basically everything thing for the lads and one of my nieces. Intended just to buy "The Lion Witch and the Wardrobe" went in waterstones not a copy to be found, went in a discount book store and all the Chronicles of narnia for £6.99 instead of £41.38:T Really chuffed, hopefully she will like them. Got ideas for the other two so will sort that out over the weekend.
Oh and i have good news, i managed to sort a deal with the council, so i'm being kicked out, but i owe 6 weeks rent still the statutory notice can't be dropped till its partially paid off. But stil i have a house to live in !!!
On top of that i got a phonecall off the bank saying i've won a prize. Thought right £10 gift voucher, fab:). But no i won a iphone 5s:eek: so thats gone straight on ebay to sell.
Oh and OH and myself have bought two kittens for ds2, yes we caved in, muppets that we are. Only supposed to look around and maybe get one. Ended up getting two as we couldn't the other kitten on its own
Boys have no idea so will be a big surprise on xmas day.
I'm stupid i know but the children have coped so well and being really good that myself and OH really want to give them a christmas to remember i.e mad kittens running everywhere :rotfl:
Oh and i now have new shiny red hair with bits of purple at the bottom, boys have new hair cuts. my friend insisted on us not paying as OH has done lots of diy things for her for free so she said i'll do all your hairs in return!
DS1 and ds2 now hair shiny new hair cuts all ready for tomorrows evening event where ds1 will get a an award for his running. He has no idea so it will a big surprise for him. OH is off out with his cousin and the house is soo quit.
I'm sat here with the christmas lit up and the rest of the room in darkness heaven0 -
Kez, you sound so much more positive, go you!
I'd love to try a bright colour on my hair, but think people might think 'mutton' as I am getting on a bit in years now and I'm not known for being outrageous.
Still lurking on here each day. Hope all your Christmas plans are coming together and if I don't post on this thread before Christmas, may I say that I hope you all have a good one and a happy new year and continue to offer support to one another.

Morning all
It's been a really wet and wild night here and was still pitch black at 7am. Glad I don't need to venture out anywhere.
Kez - I'm very much against animals as Christmas presents, such a stressful time of year for most people and introducing a new animal is something that should be done quietly and slowly, not amidst the chaos of Christmas. I hope you can provide a safe area for them to retreat to where they won't be bothered by the boys or your other cats.
Personally I'd think I'd rather spend the money on ensuring my rent was upto date than on kittens/jabs/neutering.
Sorry to voice my opinion but I feel strongly about it."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -

Ok, so I'm posting again in response to Mar. Think I will cook turkey early and prepare some potato salad etc, so we will get some kind of Christmas dinner even if there are power cuts - a regular occurrence here!Spend less now, work less later.0

What do you all think ? Am wondering if it's a good idea to set the freezer at a really low temp, to really deep-freeze stuff, say just before the worst weather moves in. because sure as hell we will lose the elect, and that way the stuff in there would stay frozen longer. Is that a good idea or is there a snag in it lol.0

Mornings toughies it's officially blitz day today where I go through the house like a hurricane tidying and throwing stuff away. So far have attacked the living room and OH has emptied the loft of last year's boxes for a tip run.
Will stop off for a little shopping in a minute and DR 19 can take over. Cleaners let us down yesterday and after some heated message finally called me to apologise. The owner says she will be here herself on Monday which will be nice.
Bought turkey yesterday and it is in freezer ready. I went with a butterfly again and got a huge piece for less than price of tiny turkey.
Dog is off for his bath and nail clip later as my back cannot cope with doing it, OH is taking him while I watch a Christmas movie with the kids. We are having breakfast with santa tomorrow all paid with vouchers
sheila hope you are managing ok and Gailey too.
Hugs to all0 -

I think it sounds really sensible and worth a try at least. When power goes off if you wrapped freezer in blankets etc would that also help keep it cooler? Or could you move the freezer outside while power off - I assume it's cold outside in power cuts.0 -
Morning all, had a very busy couple of days at work - doing 14 hour days. I still have tonight to go then I will be finished until boxing day.
I was in aldi at 845 this morning, with my mum. We had some spare vouchers form the sun newspaper, so I gave one to an elderly couple along with some of the mincemeat vouchers etc, it was greatly received. The other I gave to a young family with a very giggly little boy keeping his dad amused. They too were appreciative. I felt very good helping them and it cost me nothing.
I have so far tried to get the washing mountain tackled, OH did a quick hoover for me and DD managed to clean the kitchen so to be honest I am lucky that they help me while im at work.
Nice to hear that councelling does help with depression, I have been offered it but was worried it would bring out some of my biggest worries. I know I do need to tackle things, but you know hiding things feels easier at times.
Must dash, need to get dressed for work. Take care everyone xBSC member 137

Kidcat its not always snow, sometimes it's windy so milder. And the freezer took 3 men and a lot of swearing to get it in the back door, think we'd have to demolish the hoose to get it out again! As long as there's no food safety risks I will turn it down on Monday afternoon, after getting out all the xmas food.0
