Funny but the only thing I remember was looking forward to the "Oor Wullie" annual :)

SQ - the finger is still sore, I put a cover over it as everytime I catch it, it bleeds again. My AD are low but enough for me. If I forget a day or two the effects are quite noticeable. I hope your gp is as nice as mine and can help you and also arrange some councelling. I haven't had any yet, and I do wonder if I would be able to cope. You see certain things are firmly locked in a box in my brain - never to be remembered.

I often go to the post office to send parcels, often couriers are cheaper. Its a shame as the post office is far more convenient for me than waiting in all day for the courier.

Well off to watch tv in bed, its warmer there!!

Just to let you know that many couriers now offer drop-off service-it's same price as collection but you don't have to spend all day at home waiting for the courier to turn in.
I personally use couriers much more since they introduced this service.

I think I asked a dumb question rather than posted a dumb comment but that would be splitting hairs. ;)

Thanks Lyn and Floss. I guess the price of a stamp hasn't raised in line with inflation then.

Well done little Pooky, she has a good head on her shoulders and sounds like she is on the road to success.

OH and I have some kind of bug and havent gone far today apart from a drive to the Post Office. We feel like its the flu but he had the flu jab a good few weeks ago. I have snoozed most of the afternoon away and am off to bed with my hoggy soon. Thank goodness I have mostly got things stocked up and Dd's firm have relented so we dont have to have Dgs while she is on a late shift :T Just plucking up the courage to stand up then I will be off.

Done a little last minute shopping online and have found the people at the other end are really going the extra mile - I know its good business sense but theres also kindness there. Goodnight all, I sincerely hope many of you have a better day tomorrow. xx

I think the problem is that things such as stamps have gone up (all well and good) but wages haven't gone up by the same percentage and so they seem more expensive.
    Must use my stash up!

Fuddle: I remember when there was the most terrific fuss because stamps (there was only one class of stamp then) went up from 2 1/2d to 3d ( 1p to 1 1/2p). I feel very old indeed when I say that I remember when cards cost more than the postage. And we had at least 2 posts a day. Oh! dem good 'ole days.

Well, thanks to the ministrations of the nun on the run I now have floor in the Room of Doom. Things are slowly getting there, tomorrow I tackle the dreaded dining room. I have my pith helmet and flame thrower out ready.

Well done Miss Pooky and Master SQ, you have made some parents very happy. Will Miss P be on Strictly soon? It seems to be where all the newsreaders end up.

Hope you are feeling better soon Ginny.

  • Hi all. Lying awake worried sick. About 45 min ago BF's back went into huge spasm. The worst I've ever seen. I was on the verge of calling an ambulance but he wouldn't let me. He's now managed to get himself sort of lying down but propped up in bed and I think he's sort of dozing, but I can't help worrying so much. It's 5 whole weeks until he has his back surgery and I don't know how we will manage until then.
I feel so selfish and wrong for even thinking it, but we are going to London in just under 3 weeks for my birthday and I am hoping he will be able to manage that. I feel awful just thinking that. I shouldn't be thinking about myself now.
I need to ring the doctors first thing to see if I can arrange a home visit. Not that they will be able to give him anything stronger than he is currently taking.
I can't even begin to imagine the amount of pain he is in. I wish I could do something to help.
the only debt left now is on credit cards! The evil loan has gone!! :j:j
