Well done kidcat, hope you feel a weight has been lift from your shoulders.
Well done to olaf piggy
Cornish enjoy every moment, makes many of our niggles seem so insignificant.
Princess I sympathise and I don't even have a cold. Can't muster any enthusiasm today - almost nodded off a couple of time during what was actually a very interesting session at work this morning :rotfl: good job I was at the back......sorry you've had to cancel counselling but sometimes we need a break. Anxiety and depression can be physically exhausting and sometimes we need other people to tell us to rest. Hope you're on the up soon.
MONNAGRAN must admit the number of cards we send declines every year. It's partly that so many people use social media to keep in touch, I think, partly time pressures in our busy lives, partly 'cba' syndrome, as my dd16 would say. Dd19 was only saying this morning that house is usually covered in cards by the time but this year she has managed to blutac everything onto one door.
Made a hasty retreat from M&S Food this morning; had popped next door to Hallyfords to get stocking fillers for dd (car cleaning kit for her little car - I know how to spoil her) and thought I'd take a quick look at M&S seasonal offerings. It was packed - on a Monday morning and over a week before Christmas. People filling big trollies with boxes and boxes of party food. Is it me?
Maybe I need a list to, to get me going. Just another cuppa first though...
Hope your little one is OK SQ0 -

CChick, your posts are wonderful, the absolute affirmation of the joy of life.
The songwriter Ewan MacColl (Kirsty 'Fairytale of New York' MacColl's Dad) wrote a song called 'The Joy of Living' nearing the end of his life.
He could no longer climb his beloved mountains and this realisation grieved him, but he celebrated that he had been able to do so.
.
Thank you Mcculloch29, there are beautiful words in that song. My dear Mum has asked for her ashes to be scattered on the hills behind her home when the time comes.0 -
just a quick post as 5 mins to school run, will post again later but just to say....
:j:j:j Kidcat! Well done on standing firm and doing what needed to be done. Also well done on organising a cleaner and even for getting your nails done the other day. About time you prioritised the most important person.... you!
Glad to hear about the G Piggy Mrs LW
DS seems better thanks alfsmum. No more sickness and ate some of his lunch. off in the car in 5 mins.... so best not count my chickens yet (is that the right phrase?)
Written more than half my Chrissy cards and washed the kitchen bin and food waste bin... feeling virtuos (sp?) :A
off now, won't run too fast in case me halo slips :rotfl:

Kidcat, well done :j:j now will you have a little more time for yourself? feet up and cuppa in order if nothing else. I have taken on things that have drained me physically and emotionally and know that feeling of relief when they are done. xxxClearing the junk to travel light

Thank you all. Yes I feel so relieved and free. Am exhausted today after the stress and strain of last week and dealing with aftermath. Looking forward to having a good night sleep and being refreshed.
Its so busy just with normal stuff I will notice a difference I hope. Tongigh we have swimming lessons with dd7 at 5.30 and then schools performance for dd7 at 6.45. Its cutting it fine but just about doable. Rest of week is the same. So good sleep is definitely needed.0 -

Evening all
Kidkat - well done for finally freeing yourself! Make sure some "me" time gets put on the timetable!
SQ - Hope DS is feeling better, you really are going through it with illnesses aren't you. They do grow out of it, honest.
Hugs to whoever else could do with one.
Hectic day here and feel I'm chasing my tail....never mind, it will all get done at some point (or hidden in a cupboard).
Had to pop to a different post office to normal as they were all heaving and I needed some euros, so took the chance to visit a couple of charity shops I don't get to very often.....I didn't get acknowledged in any of them (and I was the only person there)....no Christmas spirit at all. Had popped into a large chain store too, no Christmas music, staff all looked miserable, seriously......everyone needs to cheer up a bit.
I came home, put my Christmas lights on, popped a Christmas CD on and had a good singsong whilst playing with the DW and WM.....there might have even been a wiggle"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Oh and it's egg and chips for tea......bound to make anyone smile"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0
