Fuddle, my mum altered some curtains for my bedroom when I was at Uni (the old dining room ones as she was putting my grandmother's living room curtains in the dining room) but didn't finish them before I cam home for the holidays. She finally hemmed them 18 years later when my baby niece needed to stay in the room.
I now have a HUGE pile of old curtains to work through and see what I can make for my new house - my parents have just moved too, so everything is being changed round. However, there is plenty of fabric for remaking things, and quite a bit of it was originally my grandmother's (all the really good quality fabric!).0 -
AOT: so sorry, have a hug ((((AOT)))). I do think ELONA is probably right but it dos hurt so much. I don't think they realise, I know I didn't, how selfish they are thinking only of their own hurt and lashing out at those who are safe.
STILTWALKER, So pleased your dd is getting the help she needs. April will be here before you can blink. I know it seems a long time to wait now but just think how quickly this years gone.
GAILEY: Are you reading? How are you doing?
FUDDLE: really glad your trainings going well.
SHEILA: Hope you're ok tonight.
Sorry I know there are others I should answer but can't remember any more. Keep warm and safe everyone.

Gosh Nelson Mandela has died. Sad news, lovely man.0
-
Our power went off at 8am and just came back on tonight, hope all ok on the east coast and up north.0

Nelson Mandela, a great man, a courageous man and a worthy leader of the Rainbow Nation, the world is a better place because of his vision and leadership. We will all mourn his passing after such a long and courageous battle with ill health but wish him the rest he has so rightly earned, God Bless him.0

agree re Mandela MrsL but we didn't need wall to wall coverage right in the middle of the biggest flood threat in decades. People were going frantic trying to find out what was going on and all we got was Mandela.0

good morning. No idea why have woken up early, been up a while. I too put the tv on to find out about the floods, and got about nelson mandela. He really was an inspiration to all, his views on racial equality have changed the majority of the world.
I hope everyone is ok along the east coast and wales, haven't been able to see how bad the flooding is yet. When we had the high winds I called to my mums house and told her not to go out at all. OH checked on her late and she was fine. We will be nipping to DD work later to see her and catch up over a cuppa.
AOT - I have in the past done something similar to my mum, I apologised straight away. I hope he appologies very soon.
STILTWALKER - wow what a clever littlie one, this technology is going to make her one cool cookie, with a cheeky side too. Roll on april......
Princess, I know if I had to go to councelling I would probably we worse than you. My things are locked away in my head - I refuse them any way of escape. I have experienced repossession, homelessness, bankruptcy, unemployment and being on my own with 2 little ones. Me and OH are together again now, but I still bear the scares, he reminds me everynight to take my medication. Without it I do fall apart very quickly. On the upside I have a home, an OH, 2 lovely girls, a job, food and warmth. No debts as I cant borrow - and I don't want too....
Today DD is venturing into the attic for the Christmas tree and stuff. I get to put the tree up later yay !!!!!!BSC member 137
