Morning Toughies, hope all our friends in the North are OK in all this gruesome weather they're having, thinking of you all and hoping you are alright!
Olaf the Guinea Pig wibbles his thanks for all your kind and lovely messages to him, he's had his third dose of antibiotic now and has been drinking from his water bottle since last night, and has eaten some cucumber and shredded spinach that I gave him for supper last night. He's currently chomping into some finely chopped broccoli and looks much more alert today. We're not out of the woods with him yet but the density of trees is definately less than it was yesterday. Bless you all for being so kind and concerned, Love Lyn, Docky and Olaf xxxxx.0 -
kidcat, forgot to say, glad you enjoyed the manicure. I think I'd like one but would be ashamed to put my cuticles in front of someone as I have a nasty habit of fiddling with them when I'm anxious and that leaves me with very ridgy nails (if ridgy is a word). The local Wholefoods shop sometimes offered a free mini manicure and nail paint with expensive products, but I've been too chicken to go so far.0

Your letter sounds very good, clear and concise. If you receive more grief from attendance retaliate by saying they are being inconsiderate regarding illnesses and also say that the school are showing a lack of of understanding and are providing a safe healthy environment for your children. Instead they are spreading illness throughout the school and say any child or adult who has had either d or v has to be off school for at 48 hours, this is a government guideline which everyone has to follow.
Also bring in education, say the the school have failed to assist with children's illness and have failed repeatedly to send work from school to home. When i mentioned this sto attendance officer, she it was none of her concern, but in the same conversation also stated that ds's lack of attendance affected his education. Therefore it is hypocritical and it is not very clear or concise. Please could you send out a pack of school for my child to complete at home. As for the minor illness say i refuse to take a my children as due to the lack of understanding i am afraid that my children may not be cared for properly and do not wish to risk of infection for either himself or the other children. His immune system is very low at the moment and i have been recommended by the GP that if any of children are ill then should be off school and at home resting.
If you wish to take this further, any further meetings could please be arranged via the phone or through mail as i do not have time due to working.0 -
Just a quick word re school D&V sickness, government guidance changed last year to say only 24hours D&V free are required rather than the 48 hrs rule. Our local schools all updated in Sept to new procedures - personally I think its too soon and I think the number of children who are repeating absence for returning too soon will tell its own tale - interestingly staff absence is up since sept with D&V
Mrs LW - glad Olaf is doing better0 -
alfsmum - I have absolutely awful nails and hands, I really do not look after them at all and they are an embarrassment, I am put off all the salons etc as they are all stick thin gorgeous young things and I feel intimidated. This girl however was just a normal girl lovely to chat to, helps care for an auty adult and put me at ease. I would definitely do it again in a few months. The best thing is she used that long last nail stuff which lasts minimum two weeks - if I put nail polish on its gone before lunch usually!0

Good morning everyone. Well its not good for me and hasn't for a few days.
I'm in a real emotional mess. Can't stop crying; don't know where I am or what I'm supposed to be doing.
My eldest son (one of two of my Late OH's grandsons who we brought up when their mother could not cope) has called me some awful names and just about disowned me just because I did not go to his biological mother's inquest. He never mentioned he would like me to go. I've always done my best for them both, gave them a home when otherwise would have been care, loved them like my own but now he tells me not to contact him and that I'm not family.
I'm crying even as I type this. Sorry for whinging. I'm just so lost.Use it up, Wear it out, Make it do, Do without.0 -
Oh AOT ((hugs)) I have no idea what to say except just to let you know am here and I care x0
