    Evening toughies,

shegar ((hugs)) hope you are feeling better soon, so glad you and your DH have been able to reach an agreement you are both at peace with :)

Its been so manic here these last few days I havent had time to post, but have been trying to keep up with all the posts.

Byatt- well done on buying new bedding, I am trying to hold out until I gut our bedroom, but the mattress is starting to become an issue.

Nutty - hope your DD is doing better today

Fuddle - hope your move went ok today - I moved on weekend of 22nd November many years ago - in heavy snow!! Having Christmas as a deadline did ensure we were all settled and unpacked in good time though :)

I have a few small items to buy and then we are all done and ready.

OH announced last night he has been told he will be given a full contract when his trial runs out next week, I hadnt realised until he said it just how much hope I was holding that this would end. I think I have been living day to day with the idea that it would all be over soon and today am back to having to come to terms with this just being our everyday life forever.

hi everyone, brr its cold this evening brrr

Nutty hope your DD is feeling better
kidcat - nightmare at least now you know its full time

    mar what about snowman soup?

Its manic here, spent the whole day cleaning and sorting loads of stuff in the house out.

Made a huge cottage pie, with puddings and all the veg, lashings of gravy. My dad came and so did OH's relative. Every bit of it has gone, Think it cost £4.50 to make and it fed 4 adults, 13 and a 9 yr old well pleased :)

None left like, kids are gutted , eldest wanted some for tomorrow :rotfl: should have seen how much he ate! OH was gutted when he saw how much had gone.

Kids have enjoyed them selves, spent last night chatting and joking, honestly i haven't seen them do that for ages with other people. It really cheered me up :) The social group is fab and next session they having a disco and have everyone if they can bring one thing in as they wan to have a special buffet for everyone.
Its really good and for £2.50 you can get free drinks for everyone, lots of activities and its a really safe secure environment so kids can leg it and be in complete safety. Also i get to dump OH and run away from him.:p

Oh nad after that the tidying the boys played warhammer and lots gluing involved. Finally chatting nicely together instead of arguing :) Poor ds still has cough, but he's slowly getting better,

    RANT IGNORE

His annoying relative came over for tea and decided to berate us for not having carpets down only huge rugs and for not having any money for him to borrow. I couldn't wait for him to leave.
Kept going on about how bad our accounts, even though he's never seen them. Basically i told him him how it was, never done it before but i got so sick of it. Went well out of £900 i have £200 left to pay for groceries bull etc so yeah you tell me how i can pay for carpets.

He started going oh but this that and the other and i replied err no when you children they are your priority right now, your rent is free, you council tax is free, your living in a house that has already been decorated and fully furnished. No bond to pay out thanks to me instead you live in your place for dirt cheap. He started saying oh i have to leave your depressing me, i said great, perfect, we can finally watch a film in peace without you insulting the children.
    He's such a pr!ck:mad:

Yes i know we need carpets, we have them, but OH has left them in the stores. Just hoping they haven't been taken as they have been there for months.I ended up spending the £200 i put away on travel to school :(

But needs must. i'll soon get them down.

Well going to grab the lads and put a film on:)

Kez don't worry about what he's saying. He's patently an idiot. Carpet is very very far from being the most important thing in the world.
Kidcat (((hugs))). Maybe you need to see if you can cut down some of the stuff you do. Is that possible?
Fuddle I hope your move went well today.
Sheila I'm so pleased DH is resigned to the idea of moving now. It was really the only solution and will be so much better.
Byatt well done on sorting the bed stuff.
Although I shouldn't be spending I couldn't resist a gorgeous chocolate leather armchair with matching pouffe which was on the local facebook site for £30. Saw it and got it within half an hour - it's gorgeous, looks like new and apparently cost £600. When I think £30 is what we used to spend on a takeaway. Granted it could feed us for 2 weeks now, but still a major bargain.

I post from my bed (mattress on the floor) and pleased to tell you I managed the drive without too much of a hiccup, only making some poor decisions at times when the nerves kicked in. DH stayed with me every step if the way.

We arrived to some teething problems in the house but I'm sure they be fixed ASAP when I go into the office in Monday. The girl has left a lot of her stuff lying in the gardens which needs to go but left us a note saying she didn't want her pine wardrobe and shed (huge!) yes please. We're fighting over a potting shed/summer house v practical storage and fishing gear. I think I know who will win. :(

We'll be super busy this next week but all is great. I've ha a few wobbles tonight. I am waiting for 'it' to hit me but life up there was only ever about us 4 spending time together and trying to block out outside annoyances and stresses so I'm sure we can make it down here.

At least you all know me... if I get a wobble I'll log onto my familiarity ;)

Thank you for the good wishes. Off to go read about doing up wardrobes ;)
  • Hi everyone

Kezlou - your dinner sounded yummy, glad the social group went so well. Shame the relative was a pain in the neck - imagine a huge custard pie in his face ha ha

((((Kidcat)))) - mixed news, the money will help but I know that's not what you need most. Would it be possible to syphon off a set amount of wages each week to pay for some practical help, chores round the house?

We have been out all day for DS6's birthday trip to London, too tired to type about it (v early start), great day but I now feel a bit of an emotional wreck after some more family carp this eve. I am totally fed up with all the family stuff on both sides. Currently we don't have a single family member who is of any emotional or practical support or with whom we can have a decent conversation or anything. I am feeling pretty cut up and had to hide away from the kids til I had pulled myself together. Oh and not a single card or pressie in the post from any of them yet so won't be here to open on his birthday morning come Mon. Hoping some will come while he is at school.

Still on the bright side we are off to the cinema with some friends tomorrow morning as part of DS6's birthday weekend (and carefully planned to disguise the lack of family presence as usual, thank goodness for loyal friends.) Nothing is done other than treat bags for the cinema (enjoyed making those up) and some sausage rolls for after. Will be up early tomorrow to sort house and food before 10.30 eeek. No lie-ins this weekend! Best get some sleep, night all

    sq :)
  • Sounds like a good bargain Possession well done!

Fuddle - welcome to your new home and your new life! Glad you have all arrived safely. Get some sleep tonight though or you'll regret it tomorrow.

Fuddle have been thinking of you all day, so glad you got there ok - knew you could do it. You seem to under estimate your abilities, well dont, you are fab.

Sheila, hope you are feeling a little better now decisions have been taken, Im sure you will both have a better quality of life soon and chance for you to get some of your health issues sorted.

Kez well done for saying how things were, the last few days you have really stuck up for yourself - well done. Im sure there are a few including me who wish they could just spit it out sometimes - quite liberating.

Kidcat, sending hugs, hope Sunday is kind to you and you get to put your feet up for a little while xxx

Fuddle, glad that you have arrived safely, may your stay be happy for you all.

Kidcat, would agree with saving queen that some of OH's salary should go towards lightening your load in whatever way it canbedone.

    Sleep well all

Great to hear you are safe- and hopefully safely zonked out too, Fuddle.
DS came home from a guitar masterclass in Leeds at 7.30 pm, flaked out as he was shattered, and has only now woken up and eaten the meal that was ready by 7.50 (Cumberland sausages, mustard mash and peas, with gravy, wholegrain mustard disguising the taste of Smash). So now I'm awake...

Keeping warm - I've kept my tunic style summer tops out to wear over polo-neck jumpers, some nice new outfits this way and an extra layer for warmth.

I am telling everyone that I've joined the local leisure centre gym following the doc's referral, to keep me exercised and mobile over winter. So I will have to go, I'd be too ashamed to say I haven't been. Loved using the machines, it's a very new gym and they are state of the art. I just had a short go on everything as it was my induction - I could use a surprising amount, given my limited mobility.
