PRINCESSX87 wrote: ». Problem with me is, I don’t like anything that is in shops nowadays. Everything is for young people and I’m far past the stage of hot pants and mini skirts! Might spend sometime looking online as there seems to be more style choices.
Woke up this morning & have the most painful neck and back. Think the cold might be affecting more than it used too. Normally, I can wear a t-shirt in this weather (Never coats far too hot!) but atm, I’m wrapped up like a Michelin man.
Princess hope your back and neck feels better now. DH has tendonitis in his shoulder and a dodgy back and feels the draughts from the window. Make sure you are warm enough in bed and check any draughts.
Wait til you're my age (and there will be someone older than me along to say the same ha ha) and my first concerns are "is it comfy/cool/warm etc?" "is it a good price" "does it cover up all my wobbly bits" :rotfl:My days of skimpy clothes (and undies), heels and any skirt/dress (unless it's way past me knees) are well and truely over.... and I must be middle-aged cos I don't really mind!
back to domestic servitude... anyone know I run a free hotel? only a couple of bedrooms but available for duty 24/7 :rotfl:

Nutty, low BP, pale and sleepy don't sound like a good combination. Please keep an eye on her and if she doesn't seem well or want to wake then call the doc ok?0

NUTTY, I would agree with Madatha.
FUDDLE, I'm excited for you. It's great that the girls are taking it so well.
PRINCESS, From your user name I think you were born in 1987? You still seem really young to me. It's bad if the fashions are too young at your age lol. Hope you manage to get some really nice bargains.
SHEGAR, glad to see you posting. Sorry you're having such a tough time. I can't imagine having to go through what you are.
KIDKAT, hope you can manage to get some rest this weekend. How are things with your dd18 now?
Sorry everyone else, I know that there are lots of needs but can't keep them all in my head when I come to post.

Fuddle: get an early night tonight. We'll hear from you again when you have landed in Dorset.
nan2many: If there's going to be a west country get-together don't you dare have it before next August. Wait for me!
Went round an enlarged and recently re-furbished garden centre today. Purchased a very un-OS snowman figure that jiggles around singing Frosty the Snowman for my DGS. He will absolutely love it and it will drive my DS and DIL bonkers. Mission accomplished.

Shergar....big hugs to you, as well as all Mrs LW says...you are some Toughie.
Fuddle....safe journey tomorrow, you will be fine, just keep going, all good wishes for your new life in Dorset....I have moved 5 miles in my life, and am now in the house my paternal great grandmother was born in, so admire your courage.
Off to see grand nephew as he is visiting his grandfather for couple of hours.
Have a happy and safe weekend everybody.

Nutty - as mardatha says, low BP, pallor, drowsiness are not a good combination. Add to that a diagnosed infection plus the fact your DD has just had surgery. Alarm bells are ringing loud and clear. It may be nothing, and I don't want you to get wound up about it, but keep a very, very close eye on her. Is she able to eat and drink as normal? When did she last pass urine? Do you have a gut feeling that you can't explain, that something is wrong, regardless of anything any of us on here have said? If so, get on that phone now and get help. Fingers crossed that there is nothing wrong, but you cannot be too careful. One life - your life - live it!0

Hi everyone, DD has eaten a little again, and has drank a glass of weak juice with a straw again. She has a little colour again but I think the whole operation has taken a lot out of her. She is only a little wee thing anyway. She has some tables to take if she feels slightly sick, they are helping too. She is chatting online to her friends, so is catching up.
Thankyou everyone for listening to my worries.
Shegar, I understand your concerns. At least you have been able to accept yoi need help before your totally worn out.

Can anybody give me ideas (or send me to a thread that does) for small easy edibles to make for the kids stockings? I have the recipe for Fifteens and choc-dipped marshmallows, but would love more ideas. Just wee yummies to put in baskets or tins or jars...?0

Nuttyp I'm really glad your DD is beginning to perk up. I was also concerned about the combination of symptoms you were reporting. I know we are not supposed to give medical advice on this thread but I'd be interested to know a bit more about why low BP combined with pallor and drowsiness is bad news. I have naturally low BP and so do my DDs. When I had a miscarriage and had to go in for a D&C I remember they were quite concerned about how low my BP was after the op and kept me in for 24 hours and put me on a drip. I assume in that case they were worried about internal bleeding? It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0
