Hi Fuddle,
Sorry, I've just come back on but I see you've had plenty of good advice. I can only add, just r

x my love. If DD1 gets wind of the fact that you are worried about her eating she will either use it as a stick to beat you with or get very bolshie and make sure you get more and more worried. Just remember that the teenage years are almost upon you and she's possibly doing a bit of practising. The milk shaky/smoothie/hot chocolatey ideas are really good. I had one child who would eat anything but in minute amounts and one who was picky in the extreme. The first was as thin as a rake and the other pretty well covered. When they grew up they both ate anything and everything.
One tip if you find they're not eating their vegetables is veg sticks with dips. This worked for me when I told them that they were for my evening snack but they could have a FEW as a treat. Their favourite dip was cream cheese mixed with a dry onion soup powder. They would eat things raw that they would never eat cooked.
Alfsmum: treasure that Kale plant. Nurture it well. Make Mar it's godmother and if she doesn't behave herself send it up to her for its summer holidays.
Well, I've successfully wasted today doing nothing in particular so it'll be burning the midnight oil again tonight.

My mum used to do liver 2 ways: one was just fried with onions and mushrooms _pale_ and the other was braised in the oven, with a tomatoey sauce, hated the first, second was just about palatable (to me, wasn't her cooking!).
Fuddle, my youngest DS is a bit picky, needs to eat more of everything. He likes peanut butter and cheese, so that gets him a double whammy of protein in his butty, loves peppers and hummus, so protein and veg there, loves home made soup, you can get away with ANYTHING in soup! :rotfl: DD tends to eat a tad too much in the way of carbs, not chubby, but am keeping an eye on her, trying to get her to have a carrot instead of a banana, etc. Talk to me if you need a natter.
Our older kids went through finicky phases, too, but all are the right shape and weight as adults, and seem to eat reasonable diets most of the time.
I have an appointment to see if I need CBT - do I need to be worried? Mum has her second appointment at the memory clinic next week, my difficult sister (who lives far away) is visiting soon. I think my diet may be including copious amounts of dark chocolate and rose wine. :rotfl::rotfl:
Monnagran, I had a whole 6 hours child-free today and, of course, most of it went completely to waste! All I did was change the kids' beds, empty the bins, attend school assembly and de-slug the garden!

Fairyprincess - that seminar sounds fab, bit jealous actually!!
Fuddle - hope DD is nothing to worry about - to add my voice to what someone else (sorry forgotten who, hand slapped!) said, I was a tiny wee slip of a child too and very underweight, I was only 4 1/2 stone at 11! and you could have played a tune on my ribs. With me though it wasn't a lack of eating and my poor dad came back from picking me up from a friends for tea when I was about 6/7 deeply embarrassed as friends mum had asked 'how do you keep her full?' (with a smile I'm sure!) as I'd had 4 helpings at tea. I too would go down the Jessica Enis and healthy eating path but not make too big a deal about it.
Been to the NY Pact conference today, it's a parent/carer group who advocate and consult at county level and are part of giving parents in North Yorkshire a voice. It was a good day and the kids had a whale of a time in the crèche. DS did have a big old sleep while he was there though so he is still crawling round the place - grrrrr. Was great that DH managed to get the time off and come too as he often misses out on these things. We went to a workshop on visual supports for language and one on music therapy. I am also going to get more involved in he future, not quite sure where I'm going to find the time but it is important and needs doing so I will.
Well we took the little man to bed but he's not happy up there so I think he may be coming back down!
Take care all - X

Though low in calories I'm thinking they could be tempting and you could have a few snacks throughout the day especially during school holidays."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

I don't like liver-but I will eat it as I know it's very good for you.
Liver and bacon casserole as it masks the liver a bit.
Well done young Mr bunbun. :TGE 36 *MFD may 2043

That's how I would eat liver...in a casserole with other items and in small amounts...
I have no reason to do any grocery shopping now...just if I get down on fruit and veg...root veg lasts ages...so that would be salad...
I may set up that fruit bowl later tonight:)Kiwis, bananas, apples, pears, grapes. Strawberries, blackberries, cherries, blueberries are in the fridge."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Thanks ELONA.
I haven't bought from a butchers for years since all the ones near us closed down after the supermarkets took over in the area. There are two a couple of miles away that I would like to try but I am put off by the thought of having to stand in front of a counter and be asked what I want and scared the price will be ridiculous. I know that's daft but in the supermarket or Costco I can stand and consider and check the prices without anyone bothering. Costco is really good quality, better than the supers but I do sometimes buy at Aldi and Mr M's, very occasionally one of the others.
When I first got married there were three butchers with in a ten minute walk of my house and three or four green grocers. We also had really good local markets. All gone now. One day I'll pluck up the courage to drive to the butchers and investigate what he has.

Golly Cheapskate, what a waste of lyingaround/drinkingtea/reading /watching trashy TV time.
I bet your halo is dazzling.
I've just finished the Church Magazine.
At least it is appreciated. I explained when I started doing it that it was a magazine for everyone, even the people who like to criticise, and the first person who DID criticise would be writing the next issue. No complaints so far!
