Afternoon all :) (well it will be by the time I post this)

I am suffering from having a thousand and one things to do and am seriously lacking the ability to focus on one thing for more than 10 seconds. 10 seconds is pushing it as well.
I have a list of things to sew as Christmas presents, but need to purchase a few bits to make some of them. I just don't know where to start to be honest and I'm feeling a bit scared of my sewing machine at the moment. Silly of me I know. I'm off to spend a few days with my mother in law next week and will enlist her help.

I did the second part of the block printing course yesterday and am really pleased with what I made :D I just need to work out how to attach a padded, embroidered piece of silk onto a canvas bag or the fabric that will be a bag eventually. It's going to be my DMIL's Christmas present so I can't really ask her for help.

DH is on 2 weeks holiday starting on Friday. I'm not sure if I'm looking forward to it or not. Having him home disrupts my routine and I don't feel like I can get on with anything with him around. Also all he will want to do is to sleep, watch Dr Who and Stargate and eat. I on the other hand expect him to actually do something and leave the house occasionally. He is in charge of all the Halloween stuff this year after last year's argument about where I put the decorations and it not matching his vision *insert eye rolling smilie here* I just have to curb his spending on more things.

Roast chicken for dinner tonight. DS1 wants chicken and salad so I had better go and see if I need more salad stuff.

Bye for now everyone and thanks for letting me waffle on xxxx

Gailey your inbox is full! Watch for the postman, you have mail. :D
Is dull, wet and horrible up here. Knitting more socks. Mortified to admit that I bought 2 boxes of instant porridge in Aldi. But it was cheap and I wanted to try it! :D

Mar.. there's a recipe for the same unmentionable thing here if you want an acceptable version... http://mortgagefreeinthree.com/2013/02/instant-porridge-a-readers-request/

The RV makes himself a big plateful of real porridge every morning greenbee, but I just got tired of it. I'll probably get tired of the instant stuff too in time - it doesn't really taste anything like porridge at all. Was just for a change :)

Maybe you should have something different. How about one of those chocolate-coated cereals the kids have :D

Nooo too yukky, the instant porridge is just on the edge of being yukky, but ok. I've had porridge with salt and cream forever, just somehow got bored with it. Choc cereal is too adventurous for me GB! lol

Hi everyone, had a busy morning so far. Youngest DD had a follow up appointment at the hospital after her amazing nose bleeds. They have decided the only option is surgery under general anethestic, so she is now on a waiting list.

Eldest DD has rang to invite me out for coffee tomorrow morning before I go to work.

On the way back from taking DD to collage (she asked to go in after the hospital!) I called by the hair dressers, managed to get a quick dry trim. Its the cheapest way getting it done.

Its nice today, so done 3 loads of washing and pegged it out. Had a quick tidy and that's it im done. Still feeling sore.

    have a gd day x

Cutestkids - Apple butter is also nice used as a sponge cake filling (on its own or with buttercream) dolloped over icecream, stirred into yoghourt, served with custard, cream, as a pancake filling..............

    Afternoon all

It is the most glorious autumn day here. I should be in the garden, but have run out of enthusiasm :( .

Burtha - hope all is well, we are all thinking of you.

Mrs L - did I miss something? Did you post the Teviotdale recipe? Can you post it again please, it is one of our faves. I like using suet pastry, it is so easy to make and is lovely and filling! I like the crispy top and soggy bottom :rotfl:. I roll it thin for Snake and Pigmy and it is lovely. It's also nice with dried herbs mixed in, over a chicken pie.
