It's made by Babyl*** Stiltwalker, but I warn you now, you will want one, so best not to look! OH has offered to buy for birthday/xmas, and I am soooo tempted, but my OS head is saying no!

Cheaper than going to the hairdresser four/five times a year... Just sayin' ;)

  • Morning all - just. Treated self to lie in this morning as is first day off I've had this week. Beautiful day it is as well - ideal for getting washing dry. Would be nice to go for walk but can't muster the energy. Will confine myself to batch cooking instead as got big pack of chicken thighs going cheap but must be cooked today.

(((hugs))) to all who need them. I know that to watch someone you love gradually disappear in front of your eyes because of that cruel dementia is a hard thing to bear. OH's sister suffered and he really struggled to come to terms with her change in personality.

Have just got word in post about appointment with arthritis specialist next month. Will be very glad to see him as need to talk about the increase in pain and loss of mobility since last saw him. Will probably result in more medication though. I fel I rattle enough now.

I have suffered with hair that curls in all directions most of my life. Think the person who invented hair straighteners deserves a medal.:T

Enjoy your baking pops. I used to bake a lot when the boys were at home but can't be fussed just for me.

Hope you all have some good time today.

The trouble is Bigjenny - whatever sort of hair you have you want something else. I completely 'get' Mrs Chip's need for curls as I too have poker straight hair and have always envied those with a wave or a curl. On this subject however, naughty lady Mrs Chip - I am now having to resist the temptation to google curl machine!!!

Horse riding this morning and then DH off to Leeds for his first tutorial for his new module so got a busy day ahead.

Catch you all later - hugs X

Oh I love all the talk of hair, I had 42 years of long thick wavy shiny hair, it was my pride and joy............But I went and had it cut very very short , infact to a bob:eek:................

Now the last 17 months ive grown it back long again, it grows so quickly , I do go to the hairdressers and she platt it for me, platt lasts 3 days at a time and cost me £4.00...................

Then another time I ask her to pin it up for me , it feels nice and comfortable and very tidy, I can put it up in a bun myself, also I use large plastic scrunchies and let it hang a bit in a pony tail, only trouble is when you wash hair that is long it take so long for it to dry without the hairdryer........
Its the first thing I notice about people is their hair , I love to see well groomed heads , makes a good first impression, mind you when ive been in the chicken run or pruning in the garden I look as if ive been through a hedge backwards , and sidewards ..
Bit of cloud this morning , but its still very warm outside, going outside in a min to collect some seeds from the garden , before they all drop..........Sheila

Liskay - what beautiful girls you have. My boys do the same with their party bags so if one doesn't get a party invite they still have a treat to share in.

Princess - how are you today? There is still more strength inside you to fight on but you may not realise it at the moment. Just concentrate on the basics, the essentials and everything else can wait. Make sure you have something nice planned today even if it is tiny, something just for you.

need to help DH with something, back in a bit

Bobbykins our Korat girl is devoted to my small son and only looks for me when her furry tummy is empty. Here is a link for you https://www.koorahkkoratsdirect.co.uk/about.html

Our Korat's mum is a Koorahk korat. She has a beautiful temperament too. Our other cat, which as Kidkat says is a Korat/Burmese cross (a Borat!) is noisy, naughty and is currently stuffed down the back of my chair behind me fast asleep.

My friend wants some of those cakes made in ice cream cones for her daughters birthday party. Her daughter has a life limiting condition, so we usually try and accommodate these flights of fancy wherever possible. The question is though, assuming we make them, how on earth to you move ice cream cone cakes (cones have flat bottoms) loaded with butter cream swirls to the party venue? Any thoughts please folks?

If you have waited 55 years for curls you have been a very patient person. :)You should claim your reward of a sucky-in, do some magic, spitty out hair curler.:j:j:j
It may be expensive but add up all the times you have gone without to give to family, friends, work colleagues, household. I bet you feel it is now not so expensive after all.

Start by doing what's necessary, then do what's possible and suddenly you are doing the impossible:j
Christmas is not a time but a state of mind :xmassmile
Trying.....Very trying- as my DH would say
    Loving de-cluttering

What size are the cones? Could you use the inside tray's from comercial cakes? Or get some stiff cardboard and cut slits in them to make your own made to measure grid to put on a tray and then put the cones in, so it's like a mini box to protect the sides, and then put cling film over to protect the top's.

When I take frosted cup cakes to the market, I never transport them 'done' anymore. I take the cakes (I have a cupcake carrier, or if there are loads I just take them in a single layer in one of the boxes, and then I take frosting ready loaded with nozzles etc in a disposable icing bag. (use a good quality one! or support a cheap one with a back up nylon bag) then add the sprinkles and decorations when done.

You can tell I'v never trasported small cake's with topping's on:), all mine I'v shifted have been plain and I just use an old sweet tin, cake on the lid and then the base over the top[where's the rolling eye icon when you want it?]

Katieowl I was more or less coming to the conclusion that they would have to be decorated at the party venue. It makes more sense. Boultdj I'm only used to transporting ordinary stuff too. Fancy decorated things usually get eaten without leaving our road:rotfl:
