Morning Team
Mar - no wonder the RV is Ratty! :rotfl:
Kidcat - you will find a way, you always do, you are a marvel :j. Just sorry that it means you have all the angst.
Kate - yes please! My plan to get a stall in the market here bombed as the other jewllery lady is back, and they don't allow the same stall twice. Makes sense as I doubt there is enough trade there for two jewellery stalls. So will look further afield...
Fuddle - mustard or not is down to your preference, I sometimes add it, sometimes not. I also add finely chopped ham if I have any hanging about (the Aldi offcuts pack is very good for that), which makes it nice. I like egg and cress, reminds me of school packed lunches!
Off on our trip to the Malvern Autumn show tomorrow, it looks like the weather gods will be kind. It will be a long day, coach picks up at 6.20.
Have a good day everyone!Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -
Thank you muchly
I wrapped 'em in foil Lyn. I cooked on low for around 8 hours but I suspect if I watch I could lessen that time.0 -
I love bought egg mayo and cress sandwiches but I can't make them the same.0

Wow,
I’ve just read back some of the pages, I cant believe how the tough times are getting tougher! Is there ever an end in sight for us all?
I’ve woke this morning with more relief as my back seems to have eased off. Hopefully I’ll be able to get back on track now and arrange the house like I’ve been wanting too for a long while. I’m considering getting some storage boxes to keep everything neat & tidy, But truth be it, We just need a much bigger home.
Looking at the cost of moving was shocking. Just moving fee’s would be around £2000 & that private renting. I have contacted the council in a bid to get a council home, But the chances of getting one is slim to none. Ideally we’re looking to buy, But until we have all our debts clear & able to manage our money wisely, We’re stuck with renting.
I’ve just got off the phone with OH’s grandfather, He’s really depressed & upset over all of this family drama. Oh & I are very worried as he’s normally such a happy & outgoing soul how could make the dead laugh, So to hear him crying & stressing out at 75 had made us incredibly angry.
I have suggested that he see’s his GP as a matter of urgency as all the stress isn’t good for him. Very sad day when one person manages to mess up a group of others lives.
Mar, I hope you son makes a quick recovery! You comment was comical.

There are so many costs associated with moving privately. There's credit searches for both adults, your deposit, one months rent in advance and agents fees which is around £300 going by my experience.
To rent priately you have to have a long term plan in that you know you want to move and save as much as you can in the time. You can do it if you really want to. We're not there yet but we always knew we would be moving on from here (although not to the scale in what we're doing!) so we've been saving throughout but even so, we have to live very savily/frugally in order to get some savings. I'm still selling some things to add to the pot. We've 2 more pay days before the move so we'll be ok but...
Nothing in life is achievable now and that is the mindset I have had to change. If we want something, we have to wait and work for it.
You can do it Princess if you really want to, you just have to give yourself time.
Buuuuut - bigger houses are more expensive to run, more council tax generally and bigger bills etc. I love my small space (which is about to get smaller!) everything has it's place and for me, organisation is key to happiness... but I'm weirdI mean who gets excited over storage solutions? me :rotfl:

Thanks Fuddle.
I know what you mean by expenses. It cost us just over £1700 to move in our tiny (Dolls) House kind of property. At the time it was perfect for us, Because, I was local for working / doctors ect. But now we’re outgrowing it faster than we expected. We’re also considering children in the future. Ideally we would like to move before that. (That‘s if we‘re given the gift of children)
Our property has its first rent increase which has kind of got us both thinking more about moving, As the monthly cost now of this place could see us a 2 bedroom with extra’s like GCH ect.
It’s a long term plan. Until we’re debt free & able to control our cash better, We’re stuck here. I suppose there’s no harm dreaming!! JFuture goals:

Kidcat - that sounds very very stressful for all of you. at 17 I had a summer job 20 miles away through rambling countryside, my parents bought me a very cheap moped and I got myself there and back everyday, - it took an hour, but that's what I had to do as there was no bus service, I paid them back through my wages and was then able to use it until I left home for college, at which point I was entirely responsible for getting myself wherever I needed to go.
or could she cycle to the bus? I wonder that you might be so used to being the linchpin of organisation for your family that you are unwittingly relieving dd of the responsibility of sorting out for herself how she gets to uni, and looking at only you-based-effort-solutions? that's not a criticism of either her or you, but wow - you have enough on your plate.
edited to say - if ds struggles with routine change and the only way she can do the 9am starts is the 7.30 - everyone in the car way. then keep to that every day - she can get to uni an hour early and go to the library/hang out with friends. it keeps the routine the same for ds and saves your time/fuel.
with time she may find friends whom she can stay overnight with before her 9am starts.:AA/give up smoking (done)0 -
lobbylud - I did think of her cycling to the bus bit and leaving the bike there - I am passing an hour later so could pick it back up but she is really bad at cycling, never really got to grips with it and gets incredibly panicky over it all.
I am hoping she will make friends quickly and hopefully either stay over or share transport, I am also looking at our finances to see if I can possibly afford to have her move into halls and cut the travel altogether.0
