Stiltwalker tomorrow after she is in school sit and write down everything that happened prior to the meltdown. It may take a few days but you should be able to find the trigger point. Then the trick is to avoid the cause and prevent the effect. If you can identify the trigger I am happy to offer suggestions to deal with it. Preparation will be a major help but takes time to bed in. So a chart with the mornings all listed and a small reward for each one. Larger one for five full mornings. Big it up with her now.0

I've just looked it up, and Hunter wellies have been made in China since 2008. I work in a shop selling wellies (and other countryish stuff), and am sorry to say that all of them are now equally cr*p, with a very short life. Shegar, I bet your Hunters are pre-2008, when they were still good. All of them now split quite quickly, so you may as well buy cheap ones; D*nlop are pretty good, tho' not stylish! I always look out for old, unworn wellies in charity shops - even find them, occasionally. (Love the way the autocorrect is insisting I discuss willies!!!) HTH, the cake.
Oh right, thanks for that. Berghaus are still made in Northumberland I believe. I wonder if they do wellies? I bet they're pricey.
Hunters not reduced their price to reflect the made in china badge by the look of it0 -

Stilty - do you have to wake DD up to get ready or does she wake up herself? If you have to wake her she might be in a deep sleep that she finds confusing to come out of. A friend with an autistic son found had this problem until she got him an alarm clock (one that came on softly and increased in volume slightly, he wouldn't have coped with a loud noise), the sound was just enough to bring him out of a deep sleep and she found it much easier in the mornings after that as he was properly awake."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. Thanks Kidcat - I'll try that think it's the unavoidables like hair and getting dressed though. She loves her 'tony tail' when it's done but struggles with the process and the same goes for the uniform - so proud of it but the process of getting it on her is a nightmare. Just thought,I used to get her one to one at nursery to put her hair up when she got there if she was stroppy so will have a word with TAs and see if they'd do the same for me. See - just typing it out helps!! Thanks X
Pooky - she's usually awake, I tend to go and shower first and then by the time I'm out she's crawling through into the bathroom
DS is the one I have to wake up - but he's just so funny, last Thursday he just kept trying to go back to sleep wherever he was - bathroom floor, landing, bedroom floor!!
Thanks all X0 -
I found my scarves and hats :Dbut I lost one of each pair of gloves(Don't ask how)
However, I cannot speak for female clothes but Tesco's have already a range of Men's/Children's Winter hats, gloves(with fingers and fingerless)scarves, some ordinary(still warm)and some with that Thinsulite mixture. So I guess they'll all be at it.
I'm all stocked up with new Winter Duvets(single and double)pillows too.:)fuddle, I can confirm hats n gloves are in primark along with boots, willies and scarves. happy shopping x"A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Inside wellies or any boots that leak - I wear thick socks with plastic bags over them to keep feet dry and warm. Refuse to buy new boots every year now I am retired. Bought for DH and myself, the same olive green style from local discount shop a few years ago, so identify mine with smiley stickers I begged from DGD.
Guess if we're talking boots, and listening to the rain outside, it must be time to put a layer of cardboard down by the back door to collect the muddy mess.
We had chilli con carne for tea tonight, lovely and warming, and planning porridge for breakfast. Got to appreciate the nice things about chilly days0 -

Is her hair difficult to brush and tangled? A friend managed to braid her daughters hair before bed which meant that it was not tangled next morning and brushed easier, move the battle
What is it about getting dressed? Does she struggle to manage or does she want to be off doing something else? I have both issues with DS9, so we are heavy on help and bribery too, as soon as you are dressed you can watch TV/tablet until 8.25 is working currently. We have in the past used races to achieve dressing though - bet you cant get dressed before I load the DW/before DD7 type of thing, winner gets first choice of TV program
As you can tell TV bribery is major in our house at the moment.0 -

I'm off to Primark! :rotfl:
A question for the knitters.
I am doing a tension square in prep for my new jumper. For the first time the 20 stitches on my needle fall short of the 10 cm width of the square. but the length is about right. using the next needle size up my 20 stitches are about right but my 28 rows are way more than 10cm. I am guessing the width is more important as that is the sizing and I will only knit the length I want anyway. This pushes my needle size from 4mm to 4.5mm, the rib is done in a 3.5, which i guess means I need a 3.75 as the next size up? I am concerned cos the 4 has gone up half a size but the 3 only a quarter? Is this right?
Ta muchlyI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Bribery is good!! lol - so long as it works.
Inconveniently for us bribery doesn't really seem to work - offer her x if she does whatever and she'll just decide to make do with y.
Hair - I should have shares in conditioner making companies as we use so much so that her hair is not tangled! I think it's the sitting still, I try to get it done while she is eating breakfast and watching the telly so she is distracted but it doesn't always work.
Dressing - well she can't dress herself. Not good enough co-ordination or fine motor skills but she's at that age where she is staring to want to do more stuff for herself. So we have rock and hard place in that I either do it for her and she strops because of that, or I encourage her to try to do bits for her self and she strops because she can't manage. I've done hand over hand with various skills but she just pushes hands away.
Sorry, don't mean to sound negative. The reason I'm at such a point is because we've tried all sorts of things and not hit the one that works yet, or at least not on my own. The tag teaming mostly works (95% +) with the advantage that if it doesn't work and she starts throwing herself around then DH can do that without me putting my back out. Think I'm talking myself into him finishing aren't I?
