Stationary/stationery, I always got these muddled until last year my boss told me how to remember. Stationery has an e in it, envelopes begin with e and are stationery. HTH.

Hi everyone.
Been a long weekend for OH & I. This is his last week at home before he heads back to work. I’ve been in agony all weekend with a toothache / Gum infection.
No normal painkillers are working so its been lack of sleep. I did manage to make us a doctors appointment this morning as I believe we have been without our medications long enough. To say that the “new” doctor requires better bedside manners would be a understatement.
I was made to feel like I’m useless because I have depression. In fact he turned around and said to me, “do you have money troubles?” I replied yes, who isn’t right now. His reply “ Well maybe you should work for a living. I have no money worries because I work”
So, Defiantly not seeing him again in the near future. OH Had his arm checked after he’s injury and the doctor said there’s nothing wrong with it.
So, Just waiting for some scripts to be delivered. Another £40 worth of meds.
Washing on the line.
Now time for me to sit and lick my wounds.
Hugs to everyone that needs them.Future goals:

plus dd1 will need help buying books for Uni.
Hi alfsmum.
Really do suggest that she does not buy any books at this stage. Most unis now have most texts on-line so she can read them either at Uni or download them onto a reader.
All essential texts will be in the library, so she needs to find out what the lending regime is if she does not have a reader (there should be one copy on short-loan).
And then chat to year 2 students/check what year 3s are selling second hand or try amazon.
bear in mind that different students have different background and knowledge bases so some find a book essential that others think is useless cos it only covers stuff they know.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

Report him, no one need's that, he's way out of order, and he's wrong if he think's only people with money worries get depression.

Oh Princess, thats awful. Surely the main qualification a GP needs is empathy. We have problems with our Gp but as Ds says, she is so nice its hard to see why she makes things so difficult.
Hugs to so many today, life is damn hard but come on here and share hopefully a virtual hug will help. This whole issue with school uniforms and supplies really bugs me, maybe someone should start some kind of swopshop online. Schools should be recruiting parents to start something in schools, it wouldnt cost more than space, I heard of one group of Mums doing just that and it was very successful. We need to make them realise that saving money is as important for parents as it is for schools.
I am writing lists and sorting life out as best I can here - I will not be defeated, maybe I can sort out world peace when I have done it :rotfl:Clearing the junk to travel light

Thanks notjustlaura, yes all sorted again...I had 99% of meds in the house but the AD's had run out and I just could not fit an appointment in with plans/arranged days out but have been back on them for a week now...so hopefully the blip will pass soon...I think it has tbh....
Glad you're sorted, Popperwell. I've run out of anti-ds myself and it wasn't pretty!
Today is not going well. William-cat started a UTI yesterday at dinnertime so I had him at the vet first thing. £30 later and I have a happier boy which is good but my day's all out of synch. Meantime, the neighbour who looks after common repairs has arranged workmen for today. They knock on my door to see if they can plug in a whatever-tool because Arranging Neighbour has effed off without giving them access to a socket.
So now the house (which was toasty warm this morning 'cause I put the heating on) is freezing through having a window open. I can't use my kitchen because of the wires. I have to hear the noise of the workmen through said open window. And I can't go out. Obviously it's convenient for me but not convenient for Arranging Neighbour to stay home. I wouldn't mind if she had bl**dy asked - we could have done half a day each or something.
However, come hell, high water or electrical cables, I'll be going out at 4pm to collect my meds. Although the men will probably have finished by then.
Sorry for the rant - I just feel an advantage is being taken.Household: Laura + William-cat

Well today has been a very busy day so far. Just sat watching the news and they are complaining of no room in jails, some people have to share a cell !! Oh no, god forbid that should happen. I personally wouldn't give then a tv or any other luxuries, food would be basic too. Maybe if this country spent less on prisoners and gave them a harder time, the money saved could help more needy causes. sorry about the rant...... I am iratable today.
DD has dyed my hair earlier, it should be a warm chocolate and its nearly black!!!!! I hope it fades very quickly as I look really anemic.
Time for a cuppa and 5 mins nap.BSC member 137

Long time lurker here, just popping in to say that you can report this kind of behaviour to your local Healthwatch. This is a new system that is supposed to be a watchdog for all health professionals which came into being in (I think) April this year. It should be linked to your local council as well, and their purpose is to keep records of poor practice etc.
They have a very wide remit, and report to a national body, but there should be a local representative that you can talk to informally and they should be able to give you information about making a formal complaint if you wish to do so. HTH

I hate depression being treated with such an attitude and how judgemental some in the medical profession are...it helps feed into the general misconception/ignorance of those who have never experienced it themselves or seen others with it.
And yes some people may be seen as having no reason to be down as all seems ok in their lives and some have big hurdles to overcome. The mind is a complex thing to understand and there is so much that is unknown.
If you break a leg you can see it is broken and see it is better when healed besides it could be a chemical imbalance.
That is also another reason some suffer with SAD and I doubt work would cure that. Being unemployed for whatever reason...sorry "Not Working" is not necessarily why someone is depressed and many jobs cause stress which can result in depression...one size does not fit all.
Some Dr's write some very unhelpful in their notes(in your records)I worked once in a surgery in work placement and can't remember how or why(or whether I should have seen what I did)but some remarks were biased/subjective about a patient not pure medical judgement but an impression. And this is over 25 years ago.
Since then I have always thought if they say that what are they saying about the rest of us when we visit our own Dr."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson
"Your assumptions are your windows on the world. Scrub them off every once in a while, or the light won't come in" ~ Alan Alda0
