Good morning to you all!
Mrs LW - the picnic hamper sounds delightful, love the idea. We can't wait to hear all about the wedding later. If I forget later, please send the happy couple (to be) my very best wishes for a wonderful life together.
Pops - I had a funny dream too. Complex dream most of which I forgot but I was happy in it. I was embarking on some sort of adventure by camper van. When I got in it was tardis like. One fellow passenger had a box room sized berth, the other a massive room with 2 proper beds and two baths, one a big sunken in affair. When I got to my "room" it was a tiny berth, typical of an ordinary mobile caravan. Typical eh? :rotfl:
Enjoy your day out.
FairyP - your meal sounds lovely, beef and ale pie is one of my favourite dishes. I have never made it myself, will add it to new receipes to master this autumn. Have a great evening.
Anyone know is kidcat's ok? Is she on holiday?
Funny sort of day here, heavy rain and feeling close. Posh cat was meoaning (moaning in cat talk) earlier, he wanted to go outside to have some space in the shed but didn't want to go out in the rain to get there. I think he expected me to follow him out holding an umbrella over him like the Queen!
Feel like staying home and being cosy today but decided on a plan. Boys (including DH and stripy cat) are staying home and I am going to make a revised meal plan and shopping list as and head off to the shops. If the mood takes me later I might do a little charity shop browsing. DH says I should have some me time while I have the chance. Tomorrow we are going to have some sort of free family day out and will see on Monday what we do before DH goes back to work. Hoping to get DH to fix a couple of things and finish tidying up the garden.
better look lively and get organised for shopping then...

:rotfl: Oh Fuddle, I'm so glad you said that. Mine finishes summer hols in just over a week. Granted, he has been holed up doing planning on his computer for most of the summer, whilst I've been holed up on mine doing my work, but he is knocking about more than usual. They do think they know it all sometimes, don't they?
Yesterday he set off to do a treatment of the grout in the bathroom, which is starting to look a bit mouldy. He started off by telling me how he thought it should be done and asking if that was right. He was going to dilute the bleach and spend a lot of time wiping with the cloth, so I told him very clearly how to do it an easier way to get the results I usually get. I use neat bleach, mix a paste with bicarb, apply with old toothbrush, let sit, then rinse away. He came in a little later to tell me it hadn't worked. I asked him what he had tried. He diluted the bleach and applied with a cloth, then tried doing it neat with a cloth. I felt so bad for him, as he is going to do it again today, properly, after admitting he didn't listen to me. I was very clear that if he used neat bleach and put it on with a brush he wouldn't have to scrub and it would come up white quite easily. Still, I can't complain, he is doing the grout in the bathroom instead of me:D0 -
Lyn, Next weekend sounds magical. I hope you all enjoy the day and the weather stays warm & bright for you all.
Thornton’s was doing special offers on their chocolate last weekend when I popped past their store, Maybe there’s one near that you can get some fancy chocs from??
Today OH has gone to his parents as his dad is nipping him to go and collect the new units for the bedroom. Saving us £43 delivery of 4 items. I wouldn’t mind if they was coming from a fare distance, But the store is 3 miles away. Shocking.
Today I’m having a sort through of all our stuff. We seem to hoard items that we know cant be used again IE clothing. So much we have here just taking up space. So I’ll be doing that whilst OH is out. Most can be reused so I’ll be dropping that down to the local CS.
Its grey and slightly nippy here at the moment. Weather forecast is predicting heavy rain falls. But, I have risked 4 loads of washing being put out on the line & clothes horses.
Right off to sort something out for tonight’s din dins, Have a good one all. xFuture goals:
Become debt free.
Beat Depression.
Be happy & healthy0 -

I know exactly what you mean re OHs! DH wanted some cokes from Monsieur Ts yesterday and I refused to make a special journey to get them without other shopping. He is addicted to the stuff, drives me mad and the expense of it, he drinks gallons.
He said he would go himself (grrrr!) and offered to get other shopping and bits for our picnic out tomorrow. I let him buy a couple of bits I only buy in there but nothing more and for once he didn't moan when I said we can't afford to do all our shopping there. It would have saved me a shopping trip today but for us to have our little treats and pleasures I have to be savvy with the food shop.
I find though that over time DH picks up many of my OS habits without thinking. I have also learnt to let a few things go for an easier life all round. Kids do some stuff like turning off TV, lights etc after use. Just have to keep on keeping on
must go out now... stop posting everyone for 2 mins

How sad is this, I am sat waiting for the paint to dry. I wish it would hurry up so the second coat can go on and I can then paper the one wall. OH rang to ask if it was finished. grrrrr needless to say it is not and wont be any time soon at this rate.

nuttyp we ground to a halt with our decorating yesterday as Mr VP was falling asleep over the roller and had to go to bed he had to get up at 2 am to go to work) and then he had to take DD1 to drop off an assignment at uni. I can not manage to roller the walls as it sets my back off. he got home from work today at 11.30 but the F1 is on TV so there will be no moving him until that is over and they are still on the pre-amble and have not even started racing yet.I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order

SQ - I used to drink gallons of diet cherry coke but then when belts had to be tightenend I switched to Aldi diet coke. It's under 50p for a 2ltr bottle. Lidi do one as well. I ams sure Mr T and the others have an equiv, but not sure if they are as good.
They are not quite the same, so there needs to be a bit of taste adjustment, but once you have had it for a couple of weeks it is fine, and so much cheaper. Now, I am fully aware that OHs will often rail against any possibility that they could drink nasty cheap pop, but perhaps working out the savings over a month might convince him?;)Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0
