    Hello everyone,

hope work goes ok for you nutty (realise you will be there now) and you get through it best as you can. Good you have a long weekend and decorating to look forward to, focus on your stuff and try not to worry unduly about your colleague, hard as it is.

AOT - good news all round - helpful tax office, nice trip away (sure it was you with lots of nice food cooked for you at the weekend?) and best of all, your god-daughter's continued improvement. Great to hear.

Glad you had a good time yesterday with the archery kezlou.

Sorry forgot to ask after your OH before elona. Sorry to hear his face is still swollen, wishing him a speedy recovery.

Had trouble sleeping last night, all sorts of things whirring around my head keeping me awake. Gave up in the end and sat on PC for a bit, looked at some pinnyinterest etc and sighed lots! So today feeling yucky, stayed in rather than going out and planned to get lots of bits done but not getting far. Keep needing tea and biscuits to keep awake!

Off to make some bread as we have just finished off the last loaf and then might make homemade burgers ready for dinner later before I am too tired to. The burgers are fairly healthy, LOOK AWAY MAR, with grated courgette in them. I don't like courgettes much unless they are in a recipe and I have 2 to use up. Recipe only calls for one so will need to think of something for the other one tomorrow.

    keeping on going OSers

Have woefully neglected everything just lately. All sorts of nasty stuff happening here but won't bore you with the details atm. It looks as though we will be leaving the Island next July - not unexpected as the Rev will have fulfilled her 5-year stint, but there has been a lot of hassle with the process and many, many people are very angry that she is not being asked to stay. People are too upset and angry to be entirely rational just now but we are keeping out of it as much as possible.

However, the phone never stops ringing and there seems to be a constantly shifting population in our lounge of people shouting, sobbing and needing large amounts of coffee, biscuits and soothing noises.

Welcome to all Newbies (I'm sure there are some) and sorry to be so distracted. Hoping that normal service will be resumed as soon as poss.

PS. Little Al is delightful. Mrs Chip, you are such a star.

awwwww little al is so cute!!!!!!

monnagran - what a nightmare. Do you have any idea where you all might be going.

Nutty get in touch with the bosses and ask if HR know what going on.

Fuddle your only being loving towards your sister. But right now keep out of it and just focus on yourself. Harsh i know but just turn inward and focus your dreams and aspirations.

Have to admit i don't use lard, as i don'y like the taste, instead i just use butter.

Had a lovely time at the coffee morning, kids were making fans and all enjoyed themselves.

LA invited us back to hers, ds1 was already, cheeky moo went to his friends house earlier. So just got back.

I am shattered again, have done much, but my sleep pattern is getting worse. Been having lots of texts off D so i'm getting very stressed out at the moment with dealing with her.
She's also going invited me round on Wednesday to hers but i'm very unsure about going. she said our mutual friend is going, i.e the one who sorted me out when i was breaking down.
But i'm still all over the place so i'm not sure what to do. LA advised me not to go to her house in case i can't run away.

    Breakfast ideas.

My mum used to make boiled potatoes, with onion and bacon fried together with beans, scrambled eggs on toast.
    Potato rosties
    eggy bread
    pancakes
  • MONNAGRAN Hugs and happy thoughts to you and the Rev. Change is always difficult and takes time to come to terms with and your little congregation are just being very human in wanting thier world to drift along just the way it is now. It will take a little time and maybe a lot of coffee and biscuits and love and understanding but they will come to accept it in the end, and hopefully welcome and appreciate whoever is chosen to replace the Rev. Then the two of you will be off on a new adventure and another chapter of your lives, how exciting!!! Always here for a listening ear if you need to vent after a particularly exasperating day, keep us up to date with developments, do you have any idea where you'll be off to yet? Look after yourselves, Love Lyn xxx.

5 years is a very long time, time in which relationships and rapport have been forged. No wonder those close to you both are distraught and angry at the individuals responsible for losing them their rock.

Wouldn't it be lovely if it was just over the water and to the left a bit ;) (think I have my geography ok)
  • Evening all.

The appointments went, Erm, Well. The doctors have told us one date & booked us on another, So, We had a completely wasted journey. Come tomorrow I will be writing a letter of complaint because the surgery is just getting worse. Lost prescriptions ect.

Means now, OH & I have to wait until the 4th September until we can be reviewed for our medications. Explaining to the receptionist that neither of us has had any because of the wait previously was no skin off her nose.

The other appointment about our income and some finances support from our tax payers actually went really well. I found out that we are indeed entitled to some extra help, But it’s a long delay (Up to 16 weeks) before decisions are being made to each & every claimants.

Hopefully, Our plan is to have an easy evening tonight - Just doing or finishing odd jobs around the house ect. We’re both mentally & psychically drained after babysitting last night & today’s events.

Monnagran. I’m here if you need a rant my lovely. Sounds like your having a tough time of it. All my wishes chicken!!

Hugs & love to anyone else who needs it.

I did not realise what a big difference the house would be. Thought it might be from two to three beds or three to four beds with a step from terrace to semi or semi to detached. I think I might envy her the wood burner myself!!!

Just think what an adventure you and yours have in store in a beautiful part of the world.

    Monnagran

Crossing fingers things work out for the Rev and things get better.

Need to rescue the bread rolls so see you later.

    Hugs to all.

Oh my goodness, you are all so lovely.

Mrs LW. Unfortuately it isn't just my little village church that is upset. There are three little churches and one humungous church involved. It is all about the politics of envy I'm afraid, and if you know anything about church politics you'll know how complex they can be. At the moment they are all so fired up that I wouldn't be surprised to hear that they are marching on the Houses of Parliament!

Fuddle: A bit to the left and up a bit sounds fine to me. I'll see what I can do.

Princess: Thanks love. I'm a bit too tired to rant atm but I'll keep the offer in mind.

  • Hi All. I'm positively shattered. Fortunately, visiting cat's servants brought round dinner last night for us to heat up tonight to say thank you for looking after her. It looks lush!

I've been to the gym and done the SM order after finishing work for the day. We price checked everything against Ald! and the Asian SM near us. I now only have 10 things left to restock at those cheaper locations. I managed a £20 off voucher and free delivery so feeling rather pleased with myself. It will help keep food costs down during term, stand us in good stead if the weather gets suddenly bad or there are problems with pay checks or banks...and it makes the squirrel in me very happy to have my stores in place after so long running them down.:j

Monnagran, I hope things settle down soon. Take it as a sign you're both loved by the community. I do hope you enjoy and are as beloved in your next location.

Fuddle, 5 bedrooms and a conservatory? Even with a woodburner, think of the heating bills:eek: I do think there is something to be said for the flexibility you and your family have. I also think one day you will get on the housing ladder again and you'll have had plenty of time to dream up exactly what sort of house you want--and it won't be too big and you will know how to plan for a sensible amount of debt--and you know what? Money and big houses won't provide that kind of security. I know you're also probably a tad worried about your sister, but the trouble is I've rarely ever seen advice in a situation save someone from themselves. Maybe everything will be fine and maybe they have a plan in place. Or maybe not, you worrying won't change it.

SQ, I hope you get a better night's sleep.

Elona, I hope your OH can manage what sounds like a lovely dinner.

Princess--well done on facing your appointments. I know it is disappointing that the medical side wasn't very efficient, but enjoy your easy evening, you've both earned it!

Jem, did you make the bagels in the end, how did you get on? I'm dying to know if yours were lumpy!:rotfl:

Right. Off for a shower and to enjoy our nice dinner.

Monnagran and Princess - big hugs and a virtual tea tray being sent to you both.

Felt too tired in the end to cook from scratch or bake bread. Boys are having simple pasta and sauce from the freezer and DH and I a similar pasta bake. I am just about to start running down Mr Chesty and his counterpart, the little freezer in the fridge freezer who sadly has no name, maybe Shorty - so a tiny bit more space in there now. Ingredients will wait in fridge til tomorrow. No bread for DH's work lunch but the tiny freezer gap revealed some sausage rolls so he can take those for a change. Don't you just love it when the freezer throws up a meal solution?

Looking forward to chilling this eve, rubbish TV, browse on the forums and a very early night. Next door's kids were up to all hours yesterday as per usual and for a while singing at the top of the voices in the garden. I am so tempted some mornings when we are up before them to put on loud music but that would disturb our other lovely neighbours so not a real consideration.

    sq :)
