DH has told me not to interfere too Lyn. Feels wrong but you're both right. Non of my business
I think when I get to work we need to try to save like mad for a deposit and then look at something in the £80-£90k bracket. Anything more will be a worrisome amount and even that will become scary with 17% in the calculator. Mid 30's too late to start?0 -
Forgot to say MIRROR news paper has a £5 voucher off a £40 spend in MR T.
I don't shop there very often but it would be rude not to use the voucher.

Nutty - sounds like they are just ducking the issue, hoping it will go away, I don't think it will unless she does something very silly (sounds from what you say that is possible).
As they are doing nothing, make sure you get everything recorded - write it all out and get them to sign thay they have noted it if necessary. You do not want to leave yourself exposed to the possibility for being blaimed that you did nothing, or if it makes you ill, being being out of pocket or worse.
Is your employer part of a big chain or an independant - big companies have HR to deal with thses issues, you should not have to cope alone. As she is a possible danger to herself and others, it is very unfair for you to be left to deal with her.Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -
FUDDLE it's not that you're wanting to interfere, it's only natural that loving your sister as you do you wouldn't want her to walk into something with her eyes closed that will give her huge problems in the future. It's more that she won't want to hear what you're saying and would be resentful to whoever made the point about mortgage rates being unaffordable if they do rise sharply. I think it's more one of those keep your head under the parapet things, and make life smooth for yourselves, makes sense yes?
It's never too late to have a dream petal, and having an ongoing ambition to work for is something that gives purpose to your life, you keep dreaming girlie, sometimes dreams really do come true!!! Love Lyn xxx.0 -
MRS CHIPS it is a big chain company some 2800 branches. I did write a report after I sent her home and I have kept all the text message she sent me too.

In that case Nutty you might want to find out what the disciplinary procedures are (I am ex Civil Service, so used it all being made very clear!) and ensure you are protected. I am sure there will be policies about being drunk at work. Ask your boss if they have told HR what is going on, and if not why they are waiting.? If there is any doubt they are going to tackle it themselves see what the policies say about reporting it, and if you feel you can, take matters up with them directly.
This person needs help, a good HR department will know what to do.
Good luck, I don't envy you!Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -
Mrs Chip - loving Al! He looks lovely and chunky. Make sure his cage gets plenty of sunlight and pop plenty of fresh branches in for him with leaves and grubs and bugs on, he'll love them. He'll probably strip the bark from the branches which is a great boredom buster for caged birds.
Fuddle - the mortgage underwriters will only offer a mortgage if they feel that the people involved have enough income to cover their obligations. There's some margin of movement in there for interest rate rises too.
I had a mortgage with ex husband but when we divorced that house was sold and I went into rented, it's taken this long to get back on the ladder with DH and we're 2 years into a 26 year mortgage. We had a decent deposit and now have enough equity (just in 2 years) to sell, use our savings and buy a little bungalow or flat and be mortage free. But I love this house so we will stay for now, overpaying the mortgage each month by as much as we can to build up more equity for when the time comes."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W.
