Ohh good luck to Mr Fuddle!

Mrs L, those topped biccies sound lovely! I make a similar thing with a syrup pancake, topped with fruit and squirty cream. Mmmm!

Had a little relapse with bronchitis today, spend the morning in bed and feel very grotty at the moment.

    Wishing everyone a lovely afternoon/evening!

    Edit: Hi Baby Boo!

  • Afternoon everyone,

Been taking it easy as I'm still recovering from a rough spell this week. Today is day 8 of taking kelp - physically I'm still feeling the same but I feel mentally energised if that makes any sense? For the first time in a long while I'm making "to do" lists in my head............now I just need my body to catch up with my head!!

I'm doing a degree with the Open University just to keep me from going insane - losing my career was the worst part of a long-term illness and I just need to keep my brain active. So I've been doing lots of reading whilst I've been laid up.

I had a similar experience with a visit to a spiritualist Church once. A friend had suffered a loss and really wanted to go (but not alone) so I went with her. I was very much the sceptic and imagine I also had my arms crossed!! And yet it was me they gave a message to that night.........I won't bore you all with the details but it was very personal and no-one else ever knew about what the "spirit" told me. I have no option now but to believe in the unknown!!

My OH is busy in the garden so I feel I should show willing by at least dragging my sorry butt off the sofa to make him a coffee.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone xxx

  • PINKDEBSTER I didn't think that taking the kelp had made much difference until I was without it for a week when I was kitten sitting for DD1, Oh my goodness, I really knew I'd something missing and felt like a moribund slug in reverse with the brakes on !!!!! Since I've been home I've been taking the kelp again and oh my what a difference, I'm a total believer now and will try to never be without it again, Cheers Lyn xxx.

  • A lot of you seem to be talking about kelp. Out of interest, what does it do for you? I could do with a turbo charge of energy so would it be any good for me? And if makes one gain a bit of weight, bonus as I'm size 6 and would like to be a bit bigger!

Re Kelp, it was my fault. All my fault :D I have a friend who had ME and took it and felt much better. I've had ME for ten years and I took it and felt better. So I posted it on here. I have to say Shegar that my improvement isn't as dramatic as yours but I am very happy with it.
Kezlou, so happy that enjoyed your psychic supper and got good quality messages. I'm a Spiritualist and trainee medium, and it's such a worthwhile job, I love spooky stuff :D
  • Welcome Babyboo! I've just made bagels, want one?

Stressedoutmummy, I hope your bruises are feeling better.

Well, I didn't do either of my chores. Instead I made bagels, a double batch so half can go in the freezer, and a quick chocolate loaf cake just to use up the last spot in the oven. Just waiting for the last lot to come out now and having a bagel and cup of tea. They are a bit of work, but they're so expensive in the shops.

Think I might try to get a bit more ironing done now as I've got some more hangers. OH is sorting tea and has cleaned up a bit around the house while I was doing the bagels.

Hugs to any who need them, hope you're all enjoying the last of the weekend.

    Afternoon everyone,

Had a good weekend so far, been fairly lazy and don't care :p. Yesterday Did the food shop on my own and then went round to my friend (the one who needs lots of tlc) and spent a couple of hours there chatting and drinking tea, eating cakes. DH took the boys to town and got my birthday present (on my instructions). Only waited since Jan for it and not actually going til Nov...

DH and I going to see the Nutcracker. The Russian State Ballet company are coming to our town for a single performance and DH and I have tickets. I am so excited :j.Wish we could take the kids but at £30 a ticket, its too much and will be nice to have some couple time.. Hopefully our usual babysitters (well only asked them about 4 times to babysit) will be free. We were going to book a ballet up London but this will save on the train/tube fares, eating out and having to leave the kids for much longer and much further away which I wasn't keen on at all. I haven't been to the ballet since we had children and I am really looking forward to it... as you can tell! :D

Today we all went swimming and had a lovely time. DH was impressed with the progress they had made, especially DS6. Came home and DH made 6 rounds of cheese toasties (and that was just for me and boys!) Then I spent a couple of hours sorting out next size uniforms and other clothes. Have a nice big pile for my friend's little boy and the same for the charity shop.

Rounded off the afternoon with a trip to town on my own, first time been out without boys this holiday (other than food shopping.) Only went for a couple of hours but got a few household odds and ends. Went to Willikcoos first and found an old giftcard which paid for £11s of goods (and a £1 to spare on card). Right I thought I am using that £11 - £4 on coffee and cake for me, sat watching the world go by for half an hour :) and the rest is going in the school holiday pot, maybe put towards another family swimming session next week.

Then while I was sitting having coffee, I looked at my list and realised I could tick some bits off without buying. Little tongs for getting toast out (going to teach DS9 very simple meals), remembered I have some at back of drawer and bigger PE bag for DS9 - I have a plain black drawstring bag (freebie) which he can use. My bras are too tight round the back but the cups fit ok (sorry to the menfolk), just down to putting on weight. I don't want to buy new as current upholstery is fairly new and I am hoping to loose weight. Looked for bra extenders but couldn't see - do you think I could improvise by stitching some thick elastic in before the hook and eye bit? Have an old bra I am willing to chop up so might try tonight.

Feeling sleepy again, wonder why? Maybe I am relaxing? Need to make some chilli to use up some natural yog and a green pepper, get some laundry in/out (and shake it all about), sort boys' baths, fiddle with a bra (maybe) and that's my lot for this eve.

Sorry haven't read today's posts so will come back on later... nice to save some pleasures for later

    sq:)
