Another question for MRS LURCHERWALKER:j
Have managed to borrow an all-singing, all-dancing faster-than-a-whizzy-thing juicer which spins the fruit around (centrifugally sp?), leaves the pulp in the washing-machine drum type thingy and pours the juice down a little pipe into a bowl/jug. Am going to have a go with my European apple mountain. If it works, what do I do with the juice to get cider going? Add sugar? Add water? Stick it in the fermenting bin (25L) to bubble for a bit then demi-john? Don't have one of those measuring thingumybobs - will that matter?
Thankyou OH GREAT ONE!
p.s. Just looked back at my original question and see that you have very kindly given a very detailed description of what to do! Will be sterilising the fermenting bins a.s.a.p.:j[DFW Nerd club #1142 Proud to be dealing with my debt:TDMP start date April 2012. Morning everyone,
Fuddle - it's good to have a lie-in now and then. OH let me sleep in til 10 today and it was lovely.
Had a flo.od in my kitchen Friday evening and I slipped on some water on the floor and went down like sack of spuds. Banged my head which bled profusely, got black eye and bruised arm and leg. Felt such an idiot! OH had to go into work for a few hours so I went with him and had a look round the shops in Cardiff with DS. Could have spent a fortune but was good but was SO tempted to dip into my kitchen fund! I must have looked a sight with my shiner.
Lazy day today , not doing a lot of anything. Minimal cooking as I really cba.
Have a lovely Sunday whatever you do!

Jem - if you can get to the Harrogate one I've always found it fine, even on a Saturday!! We've done the White Rose one but didn't think it had the selection plus it's a longer drive for us.
Will have to get myself some undies as well as just measured and I've changed size - no wonder I'm having a little ....ahem.....difficulty at the moment - I've put a bit of weight back on since taking the kelp (pleased about it as I needed to ) but it is always the first place I show weight gain/loss. (Sorry, probably TMI!)0 -
LILLIBET if you'd like it, we can scan you a copy of the original Cider Making article from the magazine and send it to you, then you have it for good. If you want a written copy PM me where to send it and I'll get it in the post to you this afternoon, would be a pleasure to help, good luck with it all, Cheers Lyn xxx.0

Afternoon all!
don't worry about your mum!!!!!!
you just get your bags packed ready for dorset!
Been a bit hectic here since Friday.
Emotionally its been a roller coaster, so i'm exhausted trying to keep it all together.
The spiritualist evening was really good, played with all the crystals. Looked and felt at auras, mine was a mixture of light violet, bit of white and indigo.
Couldn't get the hang of metal dowsers. I've been told in the past its because i always doubt myself.
the person who organised called me a sceptic because i crossed my arms, little did he know. So he was torturing making me laugh.
At the end we a medium session and who they kept missing on, yes me!I felt really bad as the other there they didn't get a look in.Daft thing id the medium recognised this and said were sorry
The person who organised it, just looked at me and said you knew i was coming to you, didn't you. He started to say that the peson who wanted talking is coming across like a cartoon character, hes like a brother to you, you can feel the love coming through .He said he had never felt the love in such a way before and said he felt very choked up. The stuff he was coming with he couldn't have known. the group of people i went had no idea of this person as i had never spoken to them really about my past. The medium was saying details that only myself and my friend who died three years ago could have known.
We even had people laughing at the stories he was saying. So it was really good. the medium started off saying he was thin, dark hair, he was tall. Well tall for you, seeing as your three foot!! and winked at me. :rotfl:
After that though i had another three mediums stand up and saying things to me as well.
One poor bloke said i'm so sorry i'm coming out with all negative memories and things. He was so apologetic and said i'm new to this, i just said its fine honestly. He seemed so relieved when i said that. Everyone was shocked when he said i'm sorry about your friend dying in childhood so sudden. He said to me you have had a lot of bad things happen to you in such a short time.
Again another description of th cartoon character came back and said he's with my childhood friend.
It was good and then we unexpectedly went for a meal afterwards and chatted till about 1am. After that my dad came and brought myself and two friends home. He's a taxi driver and phoned me up saying i need saving from a nightmare fare. He said cancel the private hire and i'll take you home.
My friend didn't stay over last night, instead we all went to her till about half ten and chatted about old times. It was really good and such a laugh, OH was chuckling away as well.
Well better get a shift on, taking the lads to archery today0 -
We've just had the easiest and nicest pudding I've had for ages. Digestive biscuits spread with light cream cheese (I used Mr.Ts very light spreading cheese) topped with fresh raspberries and another one with blueberries. Sprinkled with a teensy bit of sugar and it's instant cheesecake, yummy!!!!! Cheers Lyn xxx.0

Sounds delicious Mrs. LW! It also reminds me my mum used to get a strawberry creamcheese from a local dairy when we lived near Wisconsin. I would imagine fozen or bruised berries could be blended in for a nice bagel spread/pudding topper!x0

Loving 'help of the kelp'
Gawd, don't be doing the medium stuff. I would love to have communication with my dad or my grandma at the moment. I've never been to a spiritualist other than a show by Derek Acor*h at Sunderland Empire. I was a believer until I saw that. Now I'm not so sure but would loved to be convinced.0
