Hi, back again. re the lemon curd cake recipe when I did it with jam and the other one with marmalade I didn't alter any thing else in the recipe.
Now I have some exciting news, and I feel guilty for writing it after just reading some of the above posts. Well I have MH issues and im on AD for the foreseeable future. Today me and mum popped into the travel agents in town - looking for a bargain. There aren't any for October. But...... drum roll for next sept I have been offered the holiday of my dream. Mum is helping with some money from the shares she 'found' after my dad died. Me and OH are going to Disney. YAY. Very basic motel but we are going. I am excited.......
Im sorry if this is out of place to post but good things don't happen very often to us.
Well im off to hoover and dance around..... feel all smiley.BSC member 137

Nuttyp never apologise for good news it cheers us all up.
((((((((((hugs)))))))))) to all. What horrid things to have happened the last few days for some of you.
I am down to one computer at the moment so can't get on as much as I would like.
Dh and I had a lovely afternoon/evening watching films together yesterday. This one was good ,Leap Year. A funny romantic comedy that had me with a lump in my throat at the end. I am going to buy it in a couple of weeks because we missed the beginning and I think it is one I will watch again.0 -
Nutty - how exciting, don't feel guilty about it, what a fantastic trip to look forward to!"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0

NARGLEBLAST yes thank you, first grandchild known to us as 'Lentil' is due to arrive mid February next year, the most exciting thing for me for many a long year I am sooooo looking forward to being Oma!!!
NUTTY wow cracking news, so pleased for you and Mr Nutty, what an adventure, brilliant stuff!!!!! WooHoo!!!!! Cheers Lyn xxx.0 -
Oh nutty, how lovely for you. Truly a magical place.
Well after last nights excitement, I can't seem to get my arris into gear. Finally picked him up at 1.10!! He had to get up and go to work this morning, but I was oblivious to it. The wires were down in the tunnel so they eventually crossed the train to the south bound line and got it out that way (obvioulsy at that time, nothing was travelleing south) The alternative was going back to Calais. He said Eurostar were brilliant throughout. Luckily, being in the business, his friend on duty told him which platform his train north was leaving from and he made it with minutes to spare. He was able to help a couple of other people catch it too.
Kids beds stripped and in the wash, I need to clean the bathrooms (deep joy). Very ordinary sausages for tea, though I think I will do ours on a bed of puy lentils with green beans from the garden. Tres Francais, n'est ce pas? And cheap as chips.
Onwards and upwardsI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Nutty that is great news! what a fantastic thing to read on a Monday morningMust use my stash up!0

Nutty that is brilliant
I have some rather bizzarre news in that late last night someone who used to work with OH text him to let him know her baby has been born, she asked about work etc and he said he was finishing next week, five minutes later her husband rang to see if OH would be interested in working in his team. He explained that he needs someone to deal with the staff and coordinate them onto jobs etc, OH currently manages a busy department in a factory and he felt it could work.
So I have spent the last hour updating OH CV to send to the guy and see what happens.
Am not sure how I feel about it, as we had planned OH to have a year of either retraining or basic training, and also helping me here full time. If he gets a job straight away I will be left with lots if issues around school pick ups etc and add in DD18 going to Uni hopefully.
But a job is a job and I dont see that it makes good sense to turn down work.0 -
Hello to everyone. I intended to go out this morning and get some fresh air as well as exercise but did not make it. Ah well - at least it will be another NSD to help finances.
Ginny - I'm sorry I was so focussed on the news about my goddaughter that I didn't quite take in the news about your cat. How horrible for you and OH. I think people who get dogs as status symbols (not for love or companionship) are stupid and selfish. I hope you can both get over the horror fairly soon.
Kezlou - Am glad you can say you and your family are feeling a bit calmer now. I agree with Nargleblast - if you do have to face this dreadful woman at all be as coldly civil as you must be - if you can.
Stiltwalker - glad your MIL's party went well.
Carlymummy - its good you managed to get DH to sit down and meal plan with you. My OH used to love to cook for us but would not consult on shopping - just complain (light heartedly) if I did not have the ingredients he needed in.
Princess87 - One of the things I love about this forum is that everyone is here for everyone else. We won't get fed up with hearing about your problems - I know I post plenty of my own. Sorry you're facing even more financial problems just now and that the OH is still in so much pain. But am glad to hear your Brother and SIL are getting back together.
Brilliant news about the Disney holiday NuttyP. Its excellent to hear you have something fantastic to look forward to.
Have heard this morning that although my goddaughter is not as poorly today she is having to fight the hospital for her proper diet. She is coeliac and the staff just can't seem to get their heads around it. It seems to be a NHS wide thing as we had same difficulties when my OH was in local hospital. I ended up getting the dieticians involved and even had to take some meals in for him.
Now I suppose I had better get moving and actually do something with the day - even if it is just paper sorting.Use it up, Wear it out, Make it do, Do without.0 -
Afternoon All,
I seem to have hit a brick wall physically these past days and even getting around the house has been difficult so trips out are on the back burner for a few days. If it continues I'll mention it to my Dr.
So I am sad to say that I missed the concert at the DLI Nargleblast. I consoled myself that the weather was poor but around the time of the concert it brightened up so it might have been ok after all.
Nearer to home I found(afterwards)there was a Victorian event with the Fishburn Brass Band in concert but publicity was poor. But the weather must still have been bad as hot air balloon trips were called off.
I'm hoping the extra walking problems are temporary...it seems strange being floored by a pain in a heel.
Perhaps I'll give the DLI a try again this weekend...talking of poor publicity I was talking with someone last night at the Bingo and they said publicity is poor for many events.
We have found out three days after it started that it was the Billingham Interntional festival so some free events have already taken place. And with a poor bus service evening events are still difficult to get to. Or rather home from.
The weather doesn't look good today either...wonder if the sun will return? At least I made it to Sunderland Airshow/Whitby and the brass band concert at Barnard Castle in recent weeks.
I think Nutty mentioned a trip to Disney and afraid to say so amongst some difficult times many here face. Its good to hear good news amongst the bad. I used to feel that way saying I was going here/there, buying this/buying that but I have had difficult times and will again but its the treats and support given that keeps you going. It also means you see the situation from all sides.
The same is true of PX87 being troubled putting down problems even Kezlou but a problem shared and all that is true. Or that's my attitude anyhow."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

KIDCAT isn't it funny how things come out of the blue like that? Think it through for fors and againsts before making any decision but it could be really good opportunity for your OH and a little bit of security for all of you.
POPS sorry you're feeling poorly and not able to get about so well, it would be a sensible move to get your heel pain checked by the GP, just to make sure you're not damaging it any more by walking about on it. Hope you feel better soon.
KELP I didn't bring enough tablets with me, but didn't want to buy any more as I have a big bottle at home so I haven't taken any since last Tuesday and as a result I am currently feeling like a moribund slug set in reverse with the brakes on!!! I didn't think it had made lots of difference to my energy levels but it appears I was wrong. I'll take some tomorrow when I get back and see how long it takes to feel better again! Cheers Lyn xxx.0
