Saving Queen - I second what Mrs LW says. And look at your signature - the bit about life being too short to put up with unnecessary nonsense. Enjoy the takeaway - you are allowed to step off the OS bandwagon once in a while! One life - your life - live it!0

havent been able to catch up fully but am posting before I forget, I will go back and catch up when kids are bedded (and I have a glass of wine in hand - it has been one of those days!)
Kez - there was a deal yesterday for the pleasure beach wristbands for £18 each, as far as I remember it was pay now for future date, if you would prefer that let me know and I will dig it up for you.
Also as far as I remember T@sco vouchers can be used too.0 -

Had the dreaded injection and anti-inflams and took about a year to heal.... then the other heel did the same darn thing... and repeat. A friend recently had the same injection and said "never again" or ruder words to the same effect!
Can't do the aniti-inflamatories:(thought an injection may be an option(ouch)even that bone spurs could be the reason but seemingly if at the back of the heel less likely...hope it goes away again...
ArtDecoGirly I found out too late the Regatta happened in Whitby the day after I was there. Perhaps I'll see it next year all being well.
I only wear trainers with those straps now...can't tie shoe laces, even they can be difficult for me to fasten. They also allow some freedom should feet swell.
Funnily enough the few pairs of shoes I do own are slip on and not anything special but most on sale these days are not the kind I want and all have either pointed or square toes. I had to buy mine on mail order.

I lost out on a double headboard today. I only bid £3 and it went for £11 but have my eye on another 2 miles away that finishes tomorrow night and is still 99p - nothing a nice fresh coat of paint can't fix
Had a lovely relaxing time at MILs. She has bought eldest shoes for school and a pinafore for youngest. She was telling me how it felt to be able to do it for her grand kids at such low prices because when she was living in the caravan with DH and 2 other children it was a worrying time of year for her. She was also telling me the feeling of calm that adding sticks to a roaring fire brings. I suspect it's to do with getting heat. She's had it hard but just got on with things.0 -
thanks Mrs LW and nargleblast - yes you are both right in everything you say. Had a lovely hug with my DH, he is a big, soft bear and he has packed me off to bed with the lappy to unwind and will sort out boys' bedtimes. He can be a real sweetie sometimes. Little play on here and an early night ready to face a better day tomorrow. Promised to take kids out or have one of their friends over whichever works out best as we have been in all day.

Oh i'm so chuffed !!!!
Just checked into Ipsos survey site and guess i have loads of points. So i checked on the rewards and guess what i found, leisure reward vouchers which can used at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. So i converted over 6000 points into £50 worth of leisure vouchers!!!!
Oh yeah so a family ticket of 5 cost £120 so with the vouchers will be £70 to pay on the door. Or if we don't use them for that a meal out or put them towards Legoland!!
so pleased i checked
As said above, Tesco rewards do the wristbands too for the pleasurebeach.
Well, best laid plans and all that - discovered there weren't enough puy lentils to have with sausages, so ended up with sausage egg and beans instead. Oops. Not very French.
Nice thoughI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

I don't necessarily like self diagnosis but as I am very careful which sites I visit I am usually right."
Well pops I hope for your sake it isnt plantar fasciitis in your heels....Ive got it in 2 heels,,had it now for 23 months, and by god its been the worst 23 months ive ever had for pain.... .....

I've seen a few slip on shoes in his size, but as he's also Autistic and has very definite ideas about what he feels comfortable in, he doesn't like it if it doesn't feel tight and secure (with laces or straps). I've managed to find trainers for PE on the SportsDirect website (£45!!!), but for his actual shoes have to be proper shoes and not look like trainers (these schools should be less fussy as long as they look smart!).
Sorry you missed the Regatta, I only found out when I was there on Friday! Like you say, not a lot is widely known, more word of mouth (if you talk to the right people...). Hope you feel better soon and manage to get out again. If I hear of anything local, I'll let you know!0 -
Thank you for that post even though scary sheila, I had read about that PF as a possiblity, the only good thing is that you have confirmed that it really is painful so I'm not being precious by saying it hurts...

ArtDecoGirly wrote: »Wow, thank you for all the welcome messages! I've been over my boyfriend's for the weekend and Whitby on Friday, so been trying to catch up on everything since I was last on! I've read most of it (it took some time!). I LOVED reading all the bios! I love learning about people, always curious and love people-watching.
Also, sorry about all the bad news a few of you have been having! Hugs to you all.
Well, we're into week four of the school holidays so I need to get school shoes and trainers for my son. He just turned 14 a few days ago, and is the baby of the year, it's hard to believe they'll be turning 15 in a few weeks! He's almost a whole year younger than some. I'm having a struggle finding shoes this year. He has severe Dyspraxia and can't fasten shoelaces, which in itself is difficult enough. It's always hard finding velcro strap shoes that don't look like something my Dad would have worn! My other problem in the shoe department is...he's almost 6ft tall with size 10 feet! Two weeks to find something...wish me luck!
slowly catching up and replying as I go to make sure I dont forget things
ArtDecoGirl - as a parent of two boys with autism, and I run a support group for parents and carers as well, and lots of parents encounter similar shoe lace issues, we have been suggesting this sort of thing, and lots of parents are reporting real success with them - there are lots of similar types around, so well worth a good long look,
