Gosh I'd forgotten how quickly this thread moves! Thank you all for the welcome back. Pops I hope you are not too sore after your fall. Molly I second MrsLurcherWalker, do talk if you are scared. I'm not surprised because I think anyone would be.
Docky, Bruno has taken to sneaking upstairs to snuggle up on my bed if he thinks he can get away with it! He suggests you try to do the same because it is a well-known fact that human beds are more comfortable than dog beds.
I walk in a different park now because Tess is too old and creaky to walk to the big park. I seem to meet fewer 'interesting' people but now that I'm back on here I'm sure they'll start popping up from nowhere again ...Aspire not to have more but to be more.

Aw Docky, what an intelligent pup and so obviously in tune with He Who, even though He Who had no idea! A lovely tale of man's best friend subtly stating his wishes. Adorable
Esther we go on our camping hol end of August. If we get to move it should be around November time.
Pops really sorry to read of your fall. So many pavements and siffetent levels I know. The amount if people don't help either.
Molly It's lovely to have you post a little about yourself. I'm sorry you're scared. I thought as we got older we would be scared of less but it seems it gets worse with age.
Yes kez has invited my brood round to play at hers on Thursday. I've never had a falalafs - chickpeas I learned but what they are I do not know. I'm kind of hoping I don't find out! Lol0 -
Hahaha falafel not that, bad. But pearl barley yack stuff of the devil!!!
Falafel just spiced deep fried chick peas.
Don't worry I'll make you something nice instead haha. Told the kids and ds2 i's really excited and making picnic plans already.
Should be, good and bring the girls wellies in case we go for a, wander in, the, stream0 -
I love falafel, known a fluffles in our family you'd probably like them FUDDLE they're little deep fried balls of ground up chickpeas with spices added but not hot ones. I like them in warm pitta breads with mixed salad and hummus on top sometimes with a little sweet chilli sauce' Really cheap to make as the ingredients really are peasant cuisine, delicious little golden nuggets of delectableness!!!
Hope you are all fit and well, the kitten came to find me at 5ish this morning climbed onto my tummy and purred for England, he stayed there until 6.45 when he decided it was breakfast time and dug me up until I fed him!!! I'm going to get the bus into the big city today, last week I found a little soft toy for the new little person who is coming into our lives, a little soft mouse wearing a blue stripy t shirt and pink fluffy slippers and DD2 loved it so much she wants another one to be able to wash one and use one for the baby who is known a 'Lentil', I think being Oma and Opa is going to be lots and lots of fun. I think for Christmas I'm going to try and find a wooden Noahs Ark with all the animals as I know she'll love one of those. When I get back home I will look out the shawl that my MIL made for her when she was born and get it laundered and ready for her little one, a rightness I feel, Cheers Lyn xxx.0 -
Morning everyone
Off to farmfoods & local market this morning to stock up some meats for casseroles the weather seems to get more autumnal each day, this morning it is damp and dreary hoping it might pick up a bit so I can get my washing on the line, it is currently draped over my chairs in the living room, a good look I feel ;D
My parents dropped my eldest DS home last night after his day with his granddad making a birdbox, I will try and upload a pic if I may he is super proud of himself and I love that my Dad can pass on some of his knowledge, my brother was never really interested and although I am obviously I am a girl so wasn't thought capable
Anyway off to hunt out some pennies for the shopping trip, have a good day xProud mummy to 3 beautiful boys!0 -
Oma that's a very good idea. BigDD has 'sleepy Ted'. At nearly 9 year old she still sleeps with him. Even now I'm worried something we happen to him. I wished I had 2! I learned with littleDD she has 2 'blankies'. I had Micky the Monkey when I was little. I remember him having no feet or hands left and stuffing falling out of him. I asked mam what happened to him - she threw him out. As an adult I'd kind of like him.
Have to tell you all that our birthdays are all in the next few months. We have been given a collective amount of gift money so we've bought (finally!) a fold down picnic Table. I'm am thrilled with it, much sturdier than I imagined. Ready for my hols but it means more than that because where ever I am living it means that we can have a Christmas lunch sat together at a table as a family. I was upset last year that we couldn't do this and even though we want to MILs and had a fab lunch, it really wasn't what I wanted. Had a surprise visit from mam and sister yesterday - they both scoffed at my excitement of knowing w could have Christmas lunch together. 1) I wasn't strong enough to see them anyway and 2) they just don't get 'life' or rather my take on 'making it' and being happy. I can see their confusion about why I want so bad to live in an apartment just to live in an area 'that looks nice'. It's more than that for me. I feel like ill relish a brand new start in an area that is full of rich experiences. I'm tired of being around them. Secretly moving will enable me to cut them off from my daily life.
Monnagran text. She's enjoying her break and been in her first home bargains. The car is full
Chilli for us tonight. Should I brown the mince first before I put it in SC? Using spices so I hope I get it right!0 -
:j I'm going to a car boot sale as soon as I can get washed, dressed, bike tyre pumped and then on to the lottie.
Feel like a zombie as almost no sleep for 2nd night in a row (fantasising about killing a neighbour IYKWIM) but determined not to let the blighter spoil my weekend plans.
Laters, my lovelies, laters. GQ xxEvery increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

FUDDLE don't let family change a single thing you want or care about. They probably just don't understand your thinking, but, we do and I think your picnic table is a very sensible and oh so useful addition that will give you much use and very much pleasure. I also understand your wanting to make a new start in another area with no baggage, it is very doable and you'll be who you want to not their image of you but a new you in a new life. Go for it!!! Love Lyn xxx.
Yes I would brown the mince, it will give you a better flavour in the Chilli!0 -
Morning everyone!
Lots of sympathy about the neighbours GQ, but I hope your weekend plans go well anyway!
Lyn, that is a lovely idea. I had a small stuffed terry cloth dog known as pickle because of his rather bright green colour. Unfortunately he was lost in a move when I was in Uni, but even now I can remember just all the places his seems had split, where my mum sewed up the little dungarees she made for him, and the new sewed on eyes he got when he retired to live on a shelf.
Fuddle, most of my family isn't as trying as yours, but even we are happier with a bit of space between us. Your table sounds lovely. A versatile and very practical addition to your household, and a reflection of your values and what you want for your family. I can't wait to hear about your adventures in Dorset, and I really hope that the move is able to go forward. Just think, Christmas round your new table wherever you are!
We love falafel, in fact many of our early outings as a couple were spend in a very student-y falafel house.
Today, I think we're going to see an exhibit in town at one of the free galleries. I think we're a little low on supplies so I shall have to be creative with our pack up, but I'm bound to come up with something.
I've got the old duvet cover pinned down, but decided it needed a press before I cut out the cushion cover. I was being lazy thinking it would smooth down, but really no point in doing a sloppy job. The cushion is quite a huge one that OH's mum made when he was young for the kids to use on the floor. I made a fleece cover for it a couple of years ago but that is looking quite shabby now so will do a new one. It has prompted me to start looking on freecycle for a sewing machine. I looked at buying one with some Christmas money a few years ago but decided I'd rather wait and get one that was more durable than what I could afford. Didn't even occur to me I could look for a free one for little projects like this. I used to be a reasonably competent seamstress, made lots of very "high fashion" clothes in my last year of school on my mum's old machine.:rotfl: These days I just knock up the odd thing here or there for the house or repair things. I made myself a few skirts by hand, but it gets tedious after awhile, all of those endless straight seems!0
