Oh Pops, sorry to read about your fall. But, I suppose with all of these adventures you're bound to get into a few scrapes! Don't let it put you off! I admire how much you get out and about.
Molly, I hope everything goes smoothly. Hugs.
Mrs LW, your Docky is such a character!
Still enjoying the bios. Work went pretty slowly today. Still, I finished my task and nipped to the gym..which was also hard. Nevermind. Tonight is Jacks salmon pasta recipe. I'll use some salmon we've already got in the freezer, some yoghurt leftover from last night's curried aubergines and I'll toss in some veg leftover from last week's recipes that needs using. I think I'll have a quick potter in the garden first. Just to see what's what.
Haven't sorted my evening project yet--two options either ironing some curtains for the dining room, or making a new cushion cover out of an old duvet cover. Not sure which I fancy yet.0 -
had a busy couple of days so not been around much. yesterday morning was a trip to the osteopath for me and the afternoon was a hospital trip for the boys. today was a return trip to the hospital for ds12. he has been complaining of back ache so the consultant has sent him for an x ray. this afternoon I have made some banana and chocolate mini loaves.
my bio: aged 46, married with 2 boys 12 and 14. springer spaniel Max age 2. I gave up work when ds14 was born and work 4 hours a week over 3 days so mostly a SAHM. I teach French for a private french club and my hours depend on numbers so never know if it will go ahead or not. things will change dramatically in September when my OH leaves his teaching job and goes on supply. then in one or two years life will change even more when he (hopefully) starts training to be a vicar. I need to look for more work but not sure where to start.

pops nasty fall
Had a smashing but very tiring day, i ended up helping out at the fun day. Completely rushed off our feet. We raised over £160 just on our stall alone!!!
I cam back with the kids, it was just to much for them, while my friend stayed on the stall.
All the kids loved it and enjoyed our hosue even better, apparently lol
DS1 and friend went upstairs on the console. While ds2 and friend snuggled up with me on the sofa and watched a film together.
It was really nice.
After that scoffed pizza from the land of ice (kids treat) and then when my friend came bakc absolutely shattered.
While we chatted over cuppas the youngest ones went outside and had a picnic in the garden.
OH came back and the three of us had a chat before he took my friend home. She insisted on a taxi, OH said no i'm given you all a lift.
It was so nice just chilling and i'm really pleased my friends children liked being here as its the first they've been.
They already asking to stay over :rotfl::rotfl: Much to mine and my friends shock!
Not sure what were doing tomorrow, prob chilling as my whole body is aching from the fun day.0 -
Hi everyone! I've posted a couple of times but have given no info about myself so.... 61 divorced lady, 2 grown up children, dd in Canada with my only grandchild and my ds in Australia. I work full time in an office where I have worked for 25 years! How did that happen. Love singing in a couple of choirs.
Love reading all your posts and will try and contribute a little more.

So sorry to hear of your fall pops. Must have shook you up. Hope you recover easily.
Forgot to add in my bio that I am mum to two lovely boys - though at 29 & 32 they can't really be called boys any more.:rotfl:
Was grey and overcast here this morning but quickly turned bright and warm though windy. My legs improved enough as the day went on for me to get some fresh air.
Loved the story about Docky MrsLW. One of the problems of living in a flat as I do is that no pets are allowed and I miss having a dog around.
Have a good night everyone.Use it up, Wear it out, Make it do, Do without.0 -
Thank you for all the kindness/concern I send mine in return...as I have just said elsewhere I cannot blame being under the influence of this book:rotfl:
Like Kezlou I have a busy day and make the effort and then need to regroup for the next time.
Whitby has a regatta this weekend over three days and extra buses laid on but...none serving "Our" direction. You'll have seen(if any have seen my blog)I had to add an extra couple of hours onto the day because connections failed/a bus left a few minutes early(but I missed it by 20 seconds)
I killed an hour Kezlou yesterday morning and visited the Chinese SM in M'Boro(it is now closed:()Note on the door says we have to visit Billingham.

I love that area as much for the memories it holds for me.
Hey OT I have found a website that has access to so many recipes from other websites you may never need another link.
I put in the ingredient Ginger into the site's search engine the other day and 44,000 were highlighted:eek:
If you'd like the link give me a shout!;)
Kidcat I think unexpected falls are worst as you are unprepared and disorientated. It was silly how and where it happened. Then again there was a railing otherwise it might have been a case of "Man overboard!"
Nutty not at all pleasent for your OH. I have been stung once but nothing like that but when I first got my health problems that's the area that was affected. It seems quite common to those who deal with those illnesses but I did have one Dr who obviously found it funny. I might have forgiven the reaction if it had been caused by a bee/wasp sting/insect bite...
Wishing OH well of course.
I guess that they need some lighthearted incidents to counter the sad they must have to deal with day in/day out."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Evening all. I haven't had a chance to read back fully but here is my bio: 47, work full time, married to my lovely alcoholic DH, have DD and DS, both in their twenties and three lovely dogs (OldDog, SickDog and LittleyDog).
I was bitten by an insect a year ago on my arm and a year on it is still painful despite the treatment I've had. Not as bad now though so am hoping that time will heal.
Hope everyone is having a lovely evening.Spend less now, work less later.0
