Thanks for the reminder Nutty, I need to do my Ald* shop, it's just finding the time to do it! Electrician pulling all the floor boards up upstairs, builder plastering and DS on an Inset day.
I was recommended to get Valspar paint for my stairs and hallway as after it sets it's very scrubbable, and I don't intend to paint again for a good few years so I want something that will last. Even magnolia needs mixing, so before school this morning I trundled along and requested my 5 litres, nearly had a heart attack when it cost £43! It had better last is all I can say. And I hope it stretches to do the kitchen too. I've had it matched to Crown magnolia so will use it till it runs out and finish with that.0 -
Pooky how did your bank card get cloned? How easy is it to have that happen to you?0

Possession ive heard its the best paint available and is an American brand. The reviews are good so fingers crossed it works for you. Ive been using homeb**e paint as it was the cheapest for kitchen and bathroom. I have managed with a very tight squeeze to get all the kitchen emulsioned. Tomorrow wish me luck as its glossing day blugggghhhhh.....

Ooh good luck nuttyp!
There's so much painting needs doing in our house, not been decorated for years, but we physically can't do it, very frustrating  I'd love to just get on and DO IT!!
We collected our lovely boy from the cattery this morning, so he's not speaking to us atmHe's recently started medication for an overactive thyroid, and had been eating loads, but has eaten only a little bit since he got home and isn't pestering for food again, so I wonder if the medication's kicking in? I do hope so - it's very expensive but we can at least offset the cost against the extra food he won't be eating IYSWIM. rather than tablets, it's a cream you just rub on his ear - very ingenious! He's been on it for eight days.

We've had to take the Olaf Piggy to the vets again today, they are doing another investigation into his teeth and the amount is eye watering!!! He only cost £14 to buy but since DD got him 3 1/2 years ago the vets bills will at the end of this be up to near £800 eeekkkkkk!!!! but you do take on the responsibility for their wellbeing with the pet when you buy it don't you?
Vet has just rung and Olaf is awake again having had teeth trimmed and is eating!!! Wahay!!!!0 -

I normally lurk rather than post, but just wanted to ask whether you'd looked into getting the medication online (ignore me if you already do this!)! My 18 year old cat is also on medication for an overactive thyroid. My vet charges £10 for a 6 month prescription, then I buy from a website called animed (was the cheapest when I looked at all of them). Even with the prescription charge it saves an absolute fortune compared to buying at the vet, costs me £15 a month for the tablets (49p per tablet to be precise). From memory, vets wanted to charge almost £40 for same amount.0 -
Dazi We were staying in Burlington Place, right near Terminus Road, but didn't go into the Wimpy, what a shame! Maybe next time. Your son will think I'm mad, saying "Hello, I know your mum on an internet forum!"
He wouldn't bat an eyelid lol, he's used to me knowing a lot of people on the interent. I even met my OH on the internet over 12 years agowhoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine

Mar - I have no idea how my card was cloned - I don't have it set up for anything online and only tend to use it in supermarkets, I don't get cash out of machines, just tend to use the cash back facility in the shops when I need to. I've been using it for buying train tickets every other day and then on the underground as it's cheaper to just use the contactless facility to get from station to station - the bank said though that my pin had been used in conjunction with a card in the Philippines to try and with draw £170.14. First time it's ever happened to me and I'm sure like most of these frauds, if they're determined enough to get your details then no matter how careful you are they'll find a way.
Luckily the bank lady said she could see I'd used my card regularly in London for the past month and in my home town so that's why it was picked up as a bit strange that I'd be in the Philippines drawing cash out 3 hours after travelling back to the Kent coast.
Mrs LW - Ouch to the vets bills - piggies can be quite costly creatures from my experience. Mind you any pet can. We've spent over £1k at the vets in the past month - 1 amputation and 2 kittens spayed - hopefully that will be it for a long time in order that I can build my "vet" savings pot back up.
Had a lovely fresh and blustery walk along the sea front with DH, all that sea air has worn him out and he's back in bed, fast asleep. I feel very tired too, I've got a couple of pizza bases awaiting me in the fridge, I shall load them up and bung them in the oven and do a big green salad to go with - plenty of left overs for lunch tomorrow"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. My CC was used on the internet while I was sitting in the Theatre with DH. No idea how they got the number. I also had train tickets debited to another card - bank resolved all though. I do make sure I keep a check on all the debits to any cards I use as I'm careful with my cards & have no idea how the b$$ got my details.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

:bdaycake: Happy birthday nutty enjoy your afternoon tea. 43 is only young my DD will be 43 this year and it only feels like a couple of years since she was a baby. She was in her final year at uni when DS21 was born.
£800 on a guinea pig  I have had a total of 68 guinea pigs never spent more than £10 on the vet. That was on our first about 40 years ago. How did we get 68 well we bred them for a while so we never had that many at once. We did go away on holiday once and leave 4 with my mum and came back to 18. One of ours used to produce up to 8 healthy babies a time. Two is about normal.
It is puzzling how your card could be cloned Pooky unless there was something in the machinery on the tube.0
