I hope you have all stayed safe today in this horrible weather - had a struggle to get into work this morning, the snow fell really heavily for about half an hour and it was total mayhem, cars skidding all over the place, etc. Of course there were some children off school because of the weather. Mad really, I thought children loved the snow and it wasn't nearly as bad there as here. Anyway it has just about gone now, been raining since about 3pm.

Softstuff you seem to be coming on leaps and bounds, you put me to shame.
I too think eating out is a treat nutty, there is someone in my work who has a takeaway on Friday night, goes out for lunch on Saturday and goes for afternoon tea on a Sunday every week, no idea how she can afford it.
ivyleaf, so glad you had a good time, hope that tummy gets better soon.
monna, get well soon. Remember your body has had a nasty virus so needs time to get better. I feel like I haven't been properly well since about November!

Tonight's job is to hang 2 pictures that have been hanging about my bedroom for ages, all I have to do is hammer in 2 hooks! Oh, and by the way, the company I got the wardrobe from have agreed to replace it, quite happy about that.

Sorry you're still feeling rough Monnagran, try and take it easy as long as you need.

Glad you got a little sunshine Ivyleaf, at least it was a bit of a break for you.

Nutty, I know just what you mean about fresh paint. Nothing to me looks as clean and fresh as a room freshly done. Hoping that's what sells our flat. Pizza hut or Deep Pan Pizza always used to be my big treat in England. I still miss dine in pizza huts, they are very rare in Aus. Hope you enjoy it and have a slice for me.

Hardly. Yesterday I did what my mother would have called "parparsing about". I managed to get a coat of undercoat on the bathroom woodwork and on 1 side of the door. And that's it. I was !!!!!!ed so I came home and rested. Today I'm stiff but need to overcome the little chap on my shoulder saying "go to beeeeed forget the reno" :o. I'd come and do your hooks though. I like doing those. Glossing woodwork, not so much :D

Chickens - so glad you're health is improving. Can't believe your DH has been in the Care Home for 9 months - certainly doesn't seem that long. Difficult decision at the time but the right one for you both. Hope yr scan goes OK will be thinking of you.

hope your tummy is better ivyleaf.

glad you were ok getting to work in the snow Camelot

Sorry you feel you can't post kezlou, no-one should feel that way on here. I think I understand but feel sad about it :(. Sending hugs.

Nutty I'm not sure exactly when your birthday is but sounds around now so made a
:bdaycake: and singing "Happy Birthday to you" as well! Enjoy your treats out.

BTW Eating out is not the norm for us either. I have friends who claim poverty but can afford regular takeaways, meals out, expensive presents, frequent holidays and weekends away etc etc. One of them says "that's what credit cards are for" well not in our house - ours gets paid by easy bank transfer as its used and is used as we get clubcardigan points and is an emergency form of credit should we ever find ourselves in dire straits.

Hibernating until school run again as still feel a rotten raspberry. Basics being done, the rest can hang. Next door neighbour is singing away through our paper walls - not a pleasant experience for me I have to tell you!

Morning all, its a nice lovely day here. Ive managed to put the 3rd coat on the walls and it looks good. Need to do the glossing and then put things back. I am really impressed with it so far.

I am going for afternoon tea today, and im so excited!! its at a little farm caf!. I am 43 today aaarrrgghhhh. My eldest daughter will be 24 on Friday. Time flies by so fast doesn't it. I remember the little baby who was 32 cm long when she was born. When nothing fitted as she was so teeny tiny small, who had 1oz of milk every hour..... how did we cope??

Now she is a agrown up little lady, she has her own home, and job is enjoys. She is engaged and has her baby ratchet a 10 month old jack Russell pup. What a lucky person I am to have all of this and much more. Youngest DD has just been awarded student of the month as she is so determined to finish her level 3 btec in health and social care. Then shes onto being an apprentice teaching assistant.

Don't forget anyone who has the aldi voucher, tomorrow is the last day. I am planning a quick shop tomorrow. Might even have to incorporate mums shopping too to make the total up!!

Time to peg the washing out, take care x

Happy Birthday Nutty - what a great family you have there.

Kez - You have huge amounts of wisdom and knowledge to offer so don't you dare stop posting. Your posts and messages to me over the past few weeks have been so thoughtful and caring and you've really made me smile when I've been feeling down.

Mrs LW - Too right - there's a place for us all, we're never all going to get along, such is human nature but tolerance goes a long way. Is all your decorating done now? Has Docky coped ok with all the workmen and furniture shuffling?

Had my bank card cloned, luckily the bank fraud team picked it up and a new card is on it's way to me - such a pain in the backside as I need to access that account to pay for my train/tube journeys....hey ho!

Just been to town for a few bits and bobs and Mr A's had a sale on clothes - got a couple of pretty long sleeved t-shirts reduced to £5 and a lovely soft, longline pink jumper - I'm sick of living in black or grey....again reduced to £5. Wasn't untill I got home that I've noticed I was charged for al 3 tops but then she voided one off??? I'd brought a few other items and DH had paid seeing as I don't have my bank card so I didn't realise.

Work to do this afternoon and then an evening of sitting on my backside with DD2 (she's really struggling with me not being here so much at the moment - bless her - some proper mummy/daughter time with choccy and something silly on the telly)
