    Hi everyone, hows you all???

Well today I have some news for you all, I think all your help and prayers have come to us in droves. OH managed to go into work yesterday for 6am and they were all given a notice of redundancy - no surprise there - and told they will receive some paperwork in the post to claim some redundancy pay, holiday pay, overtime and some pay that is for no notice being given.Like an enhanced payment. Nothing will appear in the bank for a couple of months tho.

Now I have a little glimmer of good news. Oh visited another parcel delivery company and they asked him to return later for an informal chat. Today he received a telephone call........ he starts on Monday. Full time and a little more pay!!!!!!!

Relief all over here. I am no better, I have a bad cough but I know we will be ok now OH has another job.

We were due to be on holiday next week, but that's all cancelled now. We have a hotel booked for Monday night at Dartford as we were going to lakeside shopping centre. Anyone fancy a free night away??? I am not worried about it, one thing for sure a job is more important. And I am not feeling that great. It will all pass over eventually.

Take care everyone, and thankyou for all your help x

PM me if you fancy that break away Monday??

sorry maybe didn't word it right, OH is going to a rival company and will look like a jolly green giant = they are the green parcel machines. He is super excited about it, and is so grateful to be getting the job.

Well done Mr Nutty! What a relief for you all.

Ventured into Mr S for some bread, milk and cat litter, it was manic! Barely any parking spaces left (or trollies!!). Picked up some wrapping paper at 60p for 4 mts, it's fairly generic so will do for birthdays as well as Christmas. They also had a hand mixer with stand and bowl, their own make for £13. I'm hoping it will cope with making bread dough as I've got a huge bag of mix from AF that needs using up and doing it by hand isn't an option for me. Will be handy for baking too.

Early night for me as I'm feeling really cold and achy,

  • Oh NUTTY what amazing news, and extra brownie points to Mr.Nutty for not just sitting and waiting but being pro active enough to go seeking another job. That is just the best news, I'm so very happy for you both. If you've got the same cold and cough as we've had it takes ages before the cough goes but it does, eventually and then you're better very quickly. Unfortunately for us DD1 caught another horrible headcold just before we went to Berlin and we've been taking turns with that down here, she is virtually over it, I'm still coughing like a good'un and poor He Who Knows is only on day two so is feeling quite poorly. We'll look after him and make him as comfy as we can but it's a shocker, Lyn xxx.

OH went to the depot for as soon as the gates opened, he was there at 7am.... no point sitting on the fence. He took his driving license and passport with him too. He then had to return at 11am for an informal chat over a hot chocolate. It lasted over half an hour. The fatc he knows some of the drivers there, as they had already left the company earlier in the year. To receive the call today and he was crying telling me!! They even emailed the contract of employment and asked for his bank details shows he is gonna be ok. Everything works out in the end, just doesn't feel like it at the time x

Wonderful Nutty I do hope he enjoys his new job. Get well soon and no going back to work until you are fully well.

    Get well to HWK Lyn.

I hope you are not coming down with something Pooky.
