Morning all, OH is still in bed. He has to go into work Monday and they find out then whats going on. Honestly he heard from itv news, how shocking is that. He said I have a full time job, and we can 'just about' manage on one income. It would be very tight but we can manage. OH is going to see someone he knows that works for a rival company, it would mean he needed to take his cpc driving test and buy a digi tacho card and the total cost would be in the region of £300. The pay is less but any job is better than no job, he has said he would rather not work in the local abbotour again or in any of the factories. But if he has to he will.
He has luckily just been paid, its only part of his wages. So no idea if he will receive the remainder on the 9th. We also had a night away in London booked for the 5th jan. That may be on hold now. It was only £19 travel lodge so no great loss in the light of things.
Ok well I have 3 hours work today. I am full time and any extra hours gets 'banked' as additional holiday time off. So my wages are always the same.
Take care all, and thankyou for letting me off load to you all. OH is turning into an ostrich to there may be more to come. sorry xBSC member 137

Morning all,,
thanks for the update nutty - you offload as much and as often as you like, that's what we are here for.
DH is just stirring, he has had several bad nights sleepwise so needs to catch up. DS10 has a chesty cough so I have told him he is to stay in the warm today. We were planning a trip to the park or somewhere. Boys had a game of footie in the garden yesterday and probably should have been better wrapped up.
I woke up earlier than I would have liked with a sore back and a bit of a headache. Need to do a couple of domestic chores like a load of washing but other than that will be an easy day. I find the days between Christmas and New Year a bit unsettling and I feel a bit in limbo. I am keen to do all sorts and keep busy but my body is telling me to rest. There is only so much sitting about I can do though I have a ton of sewing repairs, hemming etc to do so might start today - active rest!
off to make another cuppa.... warm thoughts to you all my friends0 -
Savingqueen You listen to what your body's telling you! at least sewing can be done sitting down x

So sorry nutty I don't know. Shocking how some firms treat their workers.
I am so bored with plain dry cold roast turkey. Any ideas to jazz it up a wee bit?0 -
Memory Girl wrote an e book last year called "A Turkey is not just for Christmas". Link on her site

Anything from a week to a year, depends on the administrators and how things stand. Get your OH signed on as soon as though, he may not get money BUT he should get his "stamp" paid at least
Must use my stash up!0 -
