    Merry Christmas everyone xx

It's taken me ages to catch up, things have now quietened down here.

We have a new puppy (Dodger) border terrier crossed with a patterdale terrier.

DS2 is off with friends visiting their family in Romania for a traditional Christmas. Even though he is only 16½, it was one of those lifetime chances to see real life in a country not the commercial side; he has funded this from his parttime job at the local caravan park. He went on 18 Dec and will be gone until 3/4 Jan.
Below is a photo taken from his bedroom where he is staying in the mountains

  • Hi everyone, sorry to have been AWOL but it's been manic and thoroughly lovely here for the last few days with my Zebra and his parents visiting us. They went home this morning for their own first Christmas together and to start some new traditions which is lovely. I've just finished ironing, did the last little shop this morning and all I have left to do with DD1 is get the veg ready for tomorrow after we've watched Carols from Kings in a few minutes time. So it really IS beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!!

Thank you all for the fun and friendship over the last year, it's so nice having a vastly extended circle of friends to share the silly, the sad and the fun things in life with, you always make me smile and lift my spirits by being here and by your kindness and humour, bless each and every one of you MERRY CHRISTMAS.

    FUDDLE champion kiddler, just champion!!!

KIDCAT Christmas isn't about being a failure for not making a cake, life too isn't failed by not making mince pies. You are there for your family 24 hours a day 365 days a year doing all they need, and giving them all the love and caring they need when they need it, you are their cornerstone, their anchor in this turbulent life and no one can do more than that, you are a massive success as a human being and as a Mum, never a failure over a cake petal, never ever!!!

Have yourselves a wonderful day tomorrow, Love and Hugs Lyn xxx.

Finally feeling organised, just in time eh? Pressies all done and hiding in the car boot. Turkey still cooking, cross fingers for me it will cook and cool down in time for bed - won't be early anyway as DS10 always stays awake for hours. Everything else will be cooked on day, no preps today, just a plan for timings. 3rd batch of mince pies made by DH await Santa!

Boys are bathed, mine is running as I type. Pizzas in oven for boys for DH to serve up and us adults have jackets for after my bath. Then its the snowman on TV and preps for Santa before kids hit the sack to read. DH and I can chill together for a bit, chocs may come out :)

In case I can't get back on here later.... a very Happy and Peaceful Christmas to you all

I got a miele cat & dog, like this http://www.miele.co.uk/vacuum-cleaners/Complete-C3-Cat--Dog-PowerLine-528/ (except I can't remember if this is my model...) Not cheap, but I'd got money back from my energy supplier by using so much less than I'd paid, & used birthday money. It coped well with cat hair & boy dirt ;-)

In case I don't get on here again, have a lovely Christmas everyone!
  • Well, Scotch Eggs made, potato salad chilling, first layer of trifle done. Turkey brought in to defrost.

Gene Simmons ornament still missing. There is a closed where the uniforms are kept and I'm thinking it's in there somewhere.

I'm peeling all the veg tonight, but other than that I'm done.

Just tired. The Flu has hit town, one of our patients yesterday is on isolation for it but the tests came back after she coughed and sneezed over nearly every nurse on the floor. We've all had our flu shots but are looking peaky.

So, Merry Christmas. Enjoy the day.

:xmastree:Just time to wish everyone the most wonderful couple of days, whatever you are celebrating.

I'm writing this in the break between the crib service and the midnight.
The crib service was hilarious. One little boy (family saw it was on and came in off the street) couldn't decide what he was going to be so joined in everything. He was Joseph, the innkeeper, a shepherd an angel and a wise man. He turned the Rev's hair grey as she tried to take the service while dissuading him from completely wrecking the Nativity scene, beautifully made and set up by a talented member of the church. By the time he had finished the crib was full to overflowing with the baby, sundry sheep,Gold frankincense and myrrh, a few hymn books and an angel's tinsel halo. A woman in the congregation went out saying that she had NEVER laughed like that in church, EVER.

Fuddle: those reindeer biscuits are magic.

Lyn: glad you had a brilliant time with Zebra - make the most of it.

Prinzess: Welcome. It's brilliant fun on here and the nicest people you could ever imagine. Visit us often, you'll soon get to know us and our funny little ways.

Well, not much longer to go now. For me just having to go next door at 11.30pm is great. Then the last shindig at 10.30 tomorrow morning, then it's home, feet up, telly on and a bit of peace.

    Merry Christmas everyone.

Ooh I love scotch eggs Wondercollie. Trade you one for some homemade baileys?

It's Christmas morning here, we did indeed have a lovely evening last night (though I did make too much food, so leftovers will feature shortly). We're off shortly for our celebrations, but just wanted to pop in first.

Wishing you all a safe, happy and peaceful Christmas, sending love to you all.

Hope you're feeling better too Kidcat and being kind to yourself.

Mardatha, the best thing I have found for hair is a rubber bristled broom or dustpan and brush. Use that to get the hairs together then hoover for the dust
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!
