Good luck Possession, sounds like a great job.
nursemaggie - could the CAB help?
Back at work after a weekend away, enjoyed seeing my Aunt, cousin and husband. Went to another cousin's birthday party but I was pretty much snubbed! Families, eh?
I had an appointment at the dermatologist on Friday for the keratoses on my nose. The doctor froze it with liquid nitrogen. It came up in a huge blister by Saturday night, probably why everyone gave me a wide berth at the party! Had to go into work today but everyone was very polite. Hope it heals soon as I think everyone is looking at it!
Take care. XX0 -
As far as the discussion on odd gifts goes, poor OH got some funny ones last birthday. He'd mentioned to me one day he'd like some funky socks. So, months on, that's one of the gifts he got from me. He opened it quite puzzled. Then he opened a gift from his mother.... it was a manila folder. Printed yes, but a manila folder nonetheless.
He quickly joked that we had misheard... he didn't want funky socks and a manila folder, he wanted freaky sex with a woman a little older :rotfl:.
Nuttyp, hope you had some luck with the estate agents for your DD. It's good she has you to help out when needed.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
chickens11, Thank you Sheila, I've been in bad habits for a while but am striving to be more OS
. It's been good to see the old familiar names and new ones!
I've not got an allotment either. I want to grow some fruit or veg next year, but our garden is tiny. Now I've got the car, we can make more use of my parents' veg patch though by helping them with it so they can do more with it. They're the other side of town from us, so it's been a trek over on the buses and takes about an hour to get there - not ideal if we wanted to take gardening stuff!
savingqueen, the journey home sounds hideous, and yuck for having to go out again with the wellies - hope you were much appreciated! I suppose the teacher is thinking Year 6 is old enough to (generally) remember stuff, but I'm sure for most of the children it comes down to parents making sure they have the wellies.
Possession, yay for the interview and fingers crossed for you! The children at my preschool run up to the lunch club staff when they come in and give them big hugs - one of our ladies was off for a few days last week and when she came back one of the little girls said how much she'd missed her.
camelot, hope your nose heals soon, and grr for families!
Took DS2 to see his Livewell consultant tonight - his BMI has gone up again and was 28.8. He wants it to be less next time so hopefully, he keeps on exercising each day and not overeating... Oh, if only it were as simple for any of us as just saying that! He has school dinner tomorrow (agreed that he can have it once a week & Tuesdays work well as it's not chip day and he does have afterschool club), but also dinner at Errant Husband's and EH and the girlfriend have pudding every day, then at Scouts, they're making apple puddings. Will ask EH again if they can wait till DS2 has gone before having their puddings.
Got home to find DS1 hadn't seen the text asking him to start dinner, and that he & his friend were working on motorbikes so the kitchen was full of tools. Soup and bread for dinner instead of the planned meal, then I was off to Scouts committee meeting. We've got a jumble sale at the weekend.0 -
Hope it goes well for you today Possession
and (((HUGS))) to SpikyHedgehog. It's hard enough struggling with one's own weight!0 -
Morning all, GOOD LUCK possession for the interview today.
Just done the emergency dash to see DD fianc! as he needed an inhaler, I only have a blue one but it will help. Seams the change in the weather isn't helping him. He said DD is very stressed, I am not surprised. They have been in the house a week, and she still cant find things but maybe they are in the boxes waiting to be unpacked?? Who knows.
We have sunshine today!! And its windy so will put some washing on. I am going to do a craft day hopefully, I have some felt and will attempt to cut out some shapes ready for sewing.
I made the famous lemon curd cake yesterday not even half left today. I am making sausage plat later - it is basically some pastry with sausage meat inside it - a large sausage roll. We have lots of gravy and some veg with it. yum yum. cheap and easy.
Tomorrow I am back at work, and it am beginning to feel the dread of going in. We have a new manager but hes very to the point, does seam to agree to laughter and fun with the customers so its beginning to be quite somber at times. I have to work, as much as I would like to just say sod it and go. Maybe the depression is not good, who knows. All I do know is I feel a bit pants.
Well time to crack on. have a good day xBSC member 137

Good luck today possession.
Nutty hugs, could you perhaps have a chat with the new guy, maybe he finds new places difficult to settle into and struggles with the jovial bit.
Spiky poor Ds, would EH be willing to attend these things too it may help him understand his contribution to the problem.
Am off to have my hair done today, am changing colour dramatically. I have felt really low and out of control for weeks, DH isn't helping and is up to his old tricks again with second phone etc. So I decided I needed a boost in self esteem and also a visual rreminder that I am in control of me, so fingers crossed it looks ok afterwards0 -
Hi everyone
Did you get some of my sunshine the other day Pooky? If not have some of today's. My washing is going out in a mo - I am the only one as far as I can see who stills hangs out washing. It is fun as we have a muddy patch right near the line and the amount of times I have nearly fallen over - watch this space!
Camelot - sorry you were snubbed at the party - it gives you a good excuse next time to ignore them and not give as fig eh? At least others were pleased to see you, they are the winners. Hope your nose heals asap.
Sounds like you son will get there with his healthier lifestyle and your support, little steps will add up. I am trying to address my own weight issues, only made the babiest of baby steps but as long as I'm going in the right direction, that will be good enough for now.
Actually I have thought of several terrible pressies I have received - one was a very long book that was MIL's favourite so of course I HAD to have a copy and read it and give my opinion. I tried but it was not my cup of tea at all so didn't read many pages. Can't remember how I got out of that one now.
Sending you bags of luck today Possession.
Good on you Kidcat with the new hair colour ! Why not sort out your wardrobe, any accessories, makeup, polish or whatever you use and see what's lurking that you haven't used in a while to add to the new look.
(((((((nutty)))))))) be kind to yourself today - the house doesn't need to be spotless, make some time for yourself. Maybe your manager needs a little time to warm up? Hope the atmosphere livens up asap.
Hugs and positive thoughts to all who need them - plenty to go round
right the washing machine is beeping furiously at me so best obey.....0 -
Morning all
Possession - good luck today!
Kidkat - Give that DH of yours a slap!!!! We'll need hair pictures too! I dyed mine over the weekend and I don't like it - went mid brown instead of my usual ash blonde and it really drains me....I shall be rectifying the situation as soon as I get chance to go buy a new colour.
SQ - We had a break in the rain for about 20 minutes before sunset yesterday....a really miserable day but the sun is shining this morning (ruddy cold out there though) and I'm stuck in waiting for a delivery. If it arrives early enough then I'm off out for a walk and a bit of fresh air.
Just framed another bit of work ready to post out so best make a start on the next"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Good luck Possession!
Kidcat, we need a hair colour photo, even if it's just the hair from the back!Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
Morning Toughies, very tired today partly due to still having a very sticky cough and partly due to problems with Docky. We are going to have to consult the senior vet at the practice as to what is best for him and us. It's a decision that needs professional advice at an unemotional level which I find impossible to reach at the moment. My hope is that his confusion and being so unsettled may be due to the medication he's on and that it might be possible to find another medication that will suit him better, my worry is that his strange behaviour is due to the tumour or possibly another tumour having developed. Either way we need some help as both of us are at our limits. Rock and a hard place time!!!
We were planning to have lunch at the garden centre today but the poor boy has just been very sick so can't risk taking him out, particularly not to a restaurant area, I'll have to cobble something together from the freezer, we won't starve anyway.
So wet and grey here today, has been so overnight too with very strong winds, it feels cold and damp despite being a reasonable temperature indoors. I guess we're in for another wet and windy autumn according to the paper this morning with atlantic lows constantly bringing problems. I think we're all going to have to accept that climate change is a reality and that weather patterns will be changed from the normal for always from now on. Something we'll no doubt find ways of coping with, have yourselves a good day, I'm going to try for some sleep this afternoon when I'll no doubt feel a bit more positive, Lyn xxx.0
