Fuddle when you were pregnant for the first time, did you worry about whether you would be able to love your baby? I'm betting that when you were pregnant for the second time you worried about whether you could love another one as much as you loved No 1?

    They bring their own love.

And I don't think it's any different with fur babies
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

maryb, what a kind and wise post. Fuddle, well done for finding out about Alfie, and I agree with the others about asking the LL about pets, do hope they say yes, and you can adopt and love another dog (or cat??). Our mad and lovely Jeeves came from the local cat rescue centre (as have all our cats); I had been seeking a new companion for my much older, Striped Person after his brother sadly died. I had looked and looked on all the local cat rescue websites, they were all lovely, but the moment I saw Jeeves' photo I knew he was the one. I rang up then and there, went to see him, and he was home with me that afternoon (delivered by the wonderful lady who runs the rescue, which doubled up as the 'home check'). He is beside me on the sofa, looking as if butter wouldn't melt .... there are so very many sad animals looking for happy homes.

    Get well soon Mrslw

Mardatha hope your energy levels pick up too

Sheila is it today you have your mri? If so hope all goes well

I had busy day yesterday, had to go into school and complain yet again, DS10 is in real stressful state, the number of changes going on in school that are not being prepared for just thrown at him means he is at breaking point. I understand the reasons why they making the change but they need to prepare the kids and this is being forgotten. The head has apologised but tried to pass it onto the senco as being her issue. However there is a whole school lack of communication and that comes from the top so I have pushed and insisted on meeting them both together on Monday to sort it.

Last night was DS16 awards night for his young group at camhs , it says regional thing and his group won the overall best group award. Totally unexpected and he wastthrilled. Was a big event and I was so proud at how he coped, he mixed with people and joined in the funfair activities after the meal. One of the girls from the group was flirting terribly with him, he was totally oblivious bless. She has put her number in his phone, won't do her any good as he can't even remember her name :)

Off to look at a minibus today, having made the painful decision that there are no cars with the right features available.

I quite enjoy some of them as they're so cheery, but i do hate the perfume ads, especially the one where a man sings a version of "You're the one that I want". I can't even remember which perfume it's for, so it evidently doesn't do its job anyway :p

Morning all, just a quick post. Mrs LW get well soon, remember to rest - I am a fine one to talk!!! Fuddle I am so glad alfie is ok, I too wondered if I could love another dog. Then we got the mischevious buddie and yup I can love him just as much. Still cried when I saw a photo of ben our dog that died nearly 3 years ago on the fridge at DD house. I wil never forget him nor his quirky ways.

OH still has a major headache but managed to go to to work. Only a lil shift but he justified it as we need the money. I have work from 11 till close at 1015pm tonight. Not looking forward to the shift. OH has a dvd he has borrowed from our daughter to watch. It is transformers.

Well that's my post. have a great day all, take care x

A good morning to you all lovely folk

Hope Mrs LW and any other poorlies feel better today.

    Well done eldest Master kidcat!

I am still of cold but it's much better so fine as long as I don't rush round too much as I get boiling hot. Yesterday I did loads round the house and DH came home to a very tired wife and suggested he get fish and chips. The relief that I didn't have to cook was overwhelming. I made the most of it and flopped out on the sofa and didn't get up for some considerable time which I never do. DH even made me a cuppa so I must have looked awful :D.

Finally decided with DS7 what he wants to do for his birthday - always a big event for the children especially with lack of wider family around. We are going to see Paddington Bear at the cinema (he has been excited about it ever since it was first advertised) and taking a few favourite class mates and then a small bite to eat afterwards. Cheaper than an organised party and much more suitable for DS7 who gets overwhelmed with big noisy events. As part of his gifts from us we are going bowling (just the 4 of us) another day, we have never done that together. It will be a little difficult as first year we haven't invited the couple of family friends with children we always invite. DS doesn't like one of the children and we can't really afford the extra tickets. I will make a birthday cake for his actual birthday (a school day) and invite those lovely people then.

Off to brave the Saturday shoppers. I need so many food items and Mr Chesty is woefully bare.

Oh and I found the spare phone charger, such a relief.

kidcat - Sending (((HUGS))) to you and DS10, stupid school  Lovely about DS16's award though :)

SQ That sounds a lovely plan for DS7's birthday :) Hope your cold buzzes off quickly now, and Lyn How are you this morning?

nuttyp Sorry your OH still has a headache :(

Just started raining here, what fun *rolls eyes*.
  • Good morning everyone.
It started lovely and sunny this morning but the cloud cover is growing now and is looking very grey. Am so glad I didn't do any washing.
Hope you are feeling better soon Mrs LW and everyone who is poorly. My hand is healing but still tender especially on the heel of the hand where there is not a lot of skin.
I'm just having a break from the big job of the day which is sorting out all the stuff I have been given for our church fete this year - it just gets put in back room and grows into a mountain. As the event is two weeks today:eek: I need to sort, prepare and price now.
Currently my bed is invisible under boxes, bags and clutter. Better get on.
    Have a good day all.

  • Hello Toughies, thank you all for being so kind and all sending good wishes, I am much improved today after a whole night of good sleep and the dreadful cough is less today. I'm still full of glue and my ears aren't working equally which is very odd but I'm not letting it stop me. Managed to go on the bus to the local shops and get in some much needed supplies including a whacking big piece of shoulder ham for £4.69p and it's got a use by date of 17th November. Thank you w8rose!!! visited the local greengrocer too and got in some fresh veg which I'm looking forward to, frozen is fine but fresh is nicer. I also found a lovely suede and fur gilet from M & S in the local charity shop to fit DD1 at a very reasonable price, it looks never worn so wonderful bargain and it will keep her warm in a draughty classroom in a listed building through this winter. It's grey and windy here today and raining on and off so Docky has declined an afternoon walk so far with a look that says 'You cannot be serious!' and brakes firmly on all 4 feet so going nowhere mode. He's back in his armchair and asleep again I think he might have a point.

Have yourselves a nice afternoon and stay dry if you can, Lyn xxx.
