A more positive feeling day today :o
Have been proactive and worked hard at tidying the office and upstairs staff area in the pub as it was horribly untidy. At trip to b&q after work has completed it with some coat hooks and a shoe rack for the team along with a nice positive/colourful notice board.
Our ad for a new deputy has gone out everywhere and fate delivered a cv this morning for someone currently working as a deputy elsewhere :T
I usually work Wednesday evenings but DH had a meeting today so I had the evening off to look after dd. Enjoying my cheeky night off :)

Dare I ask what a 'family cloth' is?! I have an idea but could be wrong??

Hope everyone enjoys bonfire night and stays warm, it's suddenly soo cold!

SQ I sympathise, I don't even want to go outside and do sparklers! Hope the rabbits are OK outside. They probably are and TBH it will disturb them more if I go out there and look. Our dog isn't too bad. Hope all your furry friends are OK.
Kidcat I hope DS is OK, sounds painful.

    PS. Glad Docky's OK!

SQ hope your headache has started to subside

Mrslw wow what a difference for docky

Well we have done our little fireworks, and everyone enjoyed them, the cats are mainly settled, a few worried looks and a bit of wandering
around but they seem relatively ok.

I am now enjoying a small glass of toffee apple cider before bed :)

mrsdwhite "Family cloths" are pieces of towelling or similar used instead of loo paper. They can be washed/boiled and used again and again. Not tried it myself, I can just imagine my menfolk's reaction :D  Good luck with new deputy.

Well done younger master SQ! Hope your Mum's head feels better x

Lyn so glad Docky's okay :):):)

kidcat Poor DS, hope his eye feels better in the morning. It must be so painful, poor boy :( Toffee apple cider sounds lovely!

Possession Hooray about the offer on your house! I hope you get the one you're after :)

Pooky I hope miss pooky recovers quickly, poor love, not to mention your OH :(

nursemaggie I hope your new machine helped last night.

Not been feeling 100% today, so had a quiet day apart from doing a couple of loads of washing. I had a pre-op assessment at the hospital on Monday and it went okay but always a stressful thing, so I expect it's caught up with me. I have a sore throat and swollen glands too, but not too bad. Shame I binned all the throat lozenges the other day as they were so far out of date and had gone all soft and sticky :p Will get some more tomorrow.

I have to go to the GP with my OH tomorrow too. The doc thinks he has asthma, so he's been using a peak flow meter twice a day for a couple of weeks and keeping a record of the results, and the doc asked him to bring me along so he can ask me about OH's snoring!

Posession - houses to me are one of those things, when it's meant to happen it happens. Sounds like good news for you, my fingers are crossed.

Kidcat, hope your DS is OK and it settles. I see that life is as eventful as ever for you!

Mrsdwhite, "family cloth" is an american term (I believe) for reusable wipes instead of toilet paper.

Glad Docky was OK this evening Mrs LW. I imagine him thinking "Oh blinkin eck, not this again!".

Ivyleaf, take a tape recording of the snoring.... that'll speak louder than words!

Ooh soft stuff I like the idea of taking a recording of the snoring. I have to attend clinic with OH soon to discuss his snoring. That might work better than my trying to explain.

Ivy the cider was gorgeous. And not too alcoholic either, only 4% which is much less than wine.

DS10 has gone to bed after calpol and ibuprofen. Hopefully he will sleep a little.

Pooky well done to your dd, finding a job is so hard especially for the young ones.

I have never heard of family cloths, seems a lot of effort for minimal gains.
Issues over storage of cloths prior to cleansing and the cleansing process of the cloths would concern me. However, having said all that, I always wash myself after a 'five minute visit' so I feel really clean. I wash not at the sink but in my portable bidet which sits on my loo.
I use a specially mild soapless wash for the important little places, but an antibacterial wash for my hands after I have emptied the portable bidet into the loo. I cannot sit in a bath, so the portable bidet is a really important aid for me. I love using it, to be honest.
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.

    Eeew to the family cloth!
Mrs LW, so glad Docky is managing to stay relatively calm. Is it having any affect on his daily life?

We had a very cold day and evening yesterday but have woken up to wet and windy weather this morning!
