Oh Possession that sounds really positive! Fingers crossed it all goes through. Have you seen anything you like yet?"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0

Well the one we really liked is under offer sadly. There are a couple of others that are quite nice which have been on the market a long while, and one that needs a lot of doing up but is in a very good area and is cheap. Plus walkable to school for DD so would save petrol. If it was earlier in the year we'd wait to see what else comes up but I'm not sure if much new will come on the market now coming up to Christmas. Anyway, a positive day!
And having just phoned to book a second viewing, the one which needs a lot of work has dropped £10K just today. Funny old day.0 -
I've given in and put the heating on for an hour - it was reading 13.5 degrees in the hall....that's cold enough!
DH is in bed doped up after his spine went into spasm, he won't surface until tomorrow morning now most likely as he has some super-de-dooper strong meds for when it does this. So hard for him as he was having a good morning.
DD1 is tucked up on the sofa with a blanket and hot drink, she's now got a UTI and feeling rough....She got the job she went for so she handed in her notice at her current job yesterday, the new one is £1.20 an hour more and 12 hours instead of 8 (and overtime if she wants it). Just waiting to see if DD2 has a job there too.
I need to replan dinner this evening as there were lots of YS bargains in Mr A this morning, I can't get everything in the freezer so the jacket potatoes that were planned can be swapped out as they'll last for a good while yet in the veg rack.
Was looking for chestnuts in the shops but they're not around yet - I need my fix!!"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
No time for a real post just yet but possession... yey! Positive news in getting that calm you need but this must be extremely difficult right now. Houses are made from walls and beams, homes are made from love and dreams.
Hang in there, you're doing so well.

Possesion Hope the people follow through and everything goes OK.
I have seen chestnuts in Aldi last week Pooky. I think they were next to Christmas food like mince pies and stollen.0 -
POSSESSION: Fantastic!!!!!!! Not many people manage a sale just before Christmas so fingers, toes and everything else crossed for you.
As for buying, I am a great believer that the house for YOU will appear at the right moment. I had a huge disappointment once when I was pipped at the post and had to settle for second best that was quite close to my first choice dream house. I then watched as the people moved in and just as quickly moved out again. All the plumbing went berserk and they discovered all sorts of problems. They had to stay with family for months while the house was taken apart and put back together. My guardian angel was doing her stuff when she wouldn't let me buy it. Your 'meant to be' house will be there when you need it. In the meantime raise a glass, or put the kettle on, and celebrate.

Possession - thats such good news
Softstuff - welcome home I have missed your posts and recipes
well I have a sorely little boy having had a call from school that he was injured. He has had a football kicked into his face and his glasses have cut around his eye. It looks awful and he can triples! and rainbows too. His eye is apparently in trauma and if its not settled by the morning we have to go to hospitalHis glasses are destroyed but rather fortuitously I had a call to collect his new ones this morning
Right off to get my sparkly, non noisy fireworks ready for when DD8 finishes swimmingwill pop back later to finish catching up

Digits crossed for you Possession!
Poor DS kidcat, hope his eye is better tomorrow.
congrats to Miss Pooky!
hope all the pets are ok, our cats aren't too bad - doing their best to ignore the bangs and sleep but their ears are definitely awake! I have felt like a grotbag all day so I came in after the school run, spent a few mins clearing up, had a hot drink and then went to bed for 3 hours.
I was hoping to feel ok for fireworks display this eve but the idea of standing in a cold field like this with a headache, no thanks. DH has taken boys on his own and said he will see if he can pass anyone my ticket (as a gift). We still saved a pound by getting them in advance even with my ticket unused. The display is so near I can hear them loudly! (the fireworks, not my family that is!)
DS7 came home from school yesterday pleased as punch. He has been chosen to be his class's school councillor - and we are very proud parents. Unfortunately for DS10 this is a role he has coveted for a good couple of years. In DS10's class the 2 reps haven't been changed for at least 3 years (down to the class teacher) which DS feels is unfair as there are others who would like the chance too. He would be good at it and he gets on with everyone in his class so a shame. DS10 is very disappointed but taking it out a bit on his little brother. We have acknowledged his feelings but he cannot be allowed to spoil things for little DS especially as big DS has been in the limelight of late with other achievements. Don't know about a councillor - I have been a counsellor with DS10 a lot lately!0 -
Docky is doing really well, he's under the desk and doesn't like the bangs but he's just laying and not panicking and panting and digging, it's a remarkable thing!!! This is the 11 th year he's had to endure fireworks night and it's a first for him not being too scared to function, and not making us scuttle from front to back of the house to keep him safe from himself. wonderful stuff!!!0

Oh so pleased for you Lyn. I have been sitting here for the last three and a half hours writing emails and listen to what sounds like a world war 1 battle field and screams from what I thought was a terrified woman. DS assured me it is the kids enjoying themselves. There is a big bonfire in the middle of the road at the end of our back street and everyone is letting them off together.
All I could think of was poor Docky trying to dig his way out. So pleased he is not. Who would have thought that a mild sedative such as Valerian would work.0
