Lovely supportive posts on here as ever. I love this thread. I'm just back from the docs as 10 of my bites flared up again, so I'm on antibiotics now. They have to be taken before food, so I've just taken the first one and my food of choice is fudge.Spend less now, work less later.0

Must be the cash fairy waving her wand SQ - I've just found a fiver wrapped up in a receipt in one of my purse pockets . woo hoo!
Do you think it might be because we squirrel the pennies away just in case & then forget our nuts so to speak???Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
OOOO am jealous SQ and Silvasava. Wish the cash fairy would visit here. Just had to buy new curtain rail to replace the one that broke (when was taking down curtains to wash) and dumped me on the floor. Now I've got to get someone to come and fix it for me. More money.
Hello Irisis.Use it up, Wear it out, Make it do, Do without.0 -
Pleased to report that the Lurcha seems to have found his ping again and is much happier this evening and in some part, due to a couple of hours sleep, so have I, Hoorah!!!0

Loving the cash fairy. Not quite the same, but I won £5 on a £2 lottery scratch card, and found that my penny pot had £34 in it, amazing how it adds up.
Feeling a bit euch today, think it may be the antibiotics.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Morning everyone :hello:
irisis Welcome to the thread
Lyn Glad Docky is better and DD enjoying her showers! I remembered she was a teacher but thought she must be on a holiday as term has ended - never thought of World Challenge, don't know why, since a friends' daughter is in Madagascar with them atm!
:j to those, who've rediscovered forgotten cash!
SQ Lovely that your OH wants to take the boys out to give you a rest
AOT So sorry to hear about the curtain raili hope you weren't hurt when you ended up on the floor.
The coving is coming down (i.e. come away from the wall) in our bedroom and we don't know how to stick it back up! At the moment it's being held up by a stack of jigsaw puzzles that happened to be on top of OH's wardrobe. It seems to be made of fibreglass or similar.
The BBC weather forecast said it would be "uncomfortably warm in urban areas overnight" so I went back to sleeping under an empty duvet cover. I'm really tired now, as I kept surfacing because my feet were cold but didn't wake up enough to get out of bed and put the duvet on!
Waiting for my George Foreman grill from the Robert Dyas sale to be delivered. All their parcel-tracking thingy could tell me was that it would be delivered between 0800 on Monday and 1700 today, so I've had to get up earlier than usual these three days as parcels usually arrive early in the day. No sign yet though
ETA: Parcel arrived just after I'd posted!0 -
Thank you muchly to everyone who welcomed me and offered advice!
By asking around I've managed to find a very well recommended roofer who has provided a quote much lower than I was expecting - now I just need to get him up there before more rain sets in! Even better he can carry out the work without anyone being in so we don't have to take any time off work. I think we will just about be able to cover his bill from this month's money surplus if we tighten our belts a few notches, but I'm also looking at ways to boost our income as suggested for the month as I really do not want to have to get one penny further in debt after all of the hard work we've put in thus far.
Thanks again, looking forward to joining in here more.0 -
Irisis that's good news, I would snap their hand off quick.
I may have mentioned they are building "affordable housing" on the other side of our road at £280 000 :rotfl::rotfl:
Hubby nipped over to ask them for a bucket of cement to save mixing some up himself and the builders were telling them that all trades are in demand. They can't pull enough brickies in on the job so trades seem to be going ok again near us.
Downside is the little jobs are costing a fortune as no one wants to really do them.
I've now spent three days slobbed out with a bad back, I've sold a couple of bits on Eb*y that were listed already and have arranged collections and sorted messages etc but apart from that I've done nothing productive. We raised £70 at the carboot on Sunday so that's gone into the school trip fund.
I can't take any more films, even if they do have Jason Statham and Harrison Ford in

Good morning all, I have a morning off at last. Yesterday was one brilliant day. One of our regulars won a substantial amount of money and he left me a tip....... £225.00 what!!!!! I said I couldn't accept that much and he insisted as he wanted to share his luck. He told me to treat myself. So today I am doing the food shopping and maybe I will get a dvd.
There is a code for £5 off a £40 home delivery for asda listed on martins page. I hope this helps someone.
see you later folks xBSC member 137
