nursemaggie wrote: »SQ Does the OH stop breathing when he wakes himself up with his snoring? If he does he probably has Sleep Apnoea.
It is quite a serious condition, can lead to heart attacks and strokes. I have sleep apnoea. Is he tired all the time and does he fall asleep a lot?
An idea of the other symptoms I used to fall asleep ever time I got in a car as a passenger. The minute it moved I was out. I could just about stay awake for the news but never stay awake through a half hour TV program.
I used to go to sleep at my computer at work and I have slept through dozens of films. I could go to bed for 14 hours and still wake exhausted. The treatment works and I rarely fall asleep anywhere but bed now. I have slept through loads of rock concerts even heavy rock.
If he has thses symptoms get him to see his GP they will soon sort it out.
Thanks very much nursemaggie. I don't think he has sleep apnoea, a friend of mine had it and she would fall asleep mid sentence. DH doesn't have the other symptoms you mention but I think he may have stopped breathing possibly a few times so I would like it checked out. I have already mentioned it several times but DH detests going to the docs. I think I will have to find an article about it and show him - his dad had a fatal attack when he was very young so he needs to take it more seriously. It takes ages to work on DH, slowly and gently is the way with him but obviously the slowly bit isn't ideal.
thanks again

Nutty I should have given you a heads up, sorry. I have taken loads and loads of pictures on my homepage so you can see if you fancy coming next year.
Silvasaver I'm so glad things are looking up for you. It will be nice for him to get out of hospital so fingers crossed he gets home today.
Are jelly babies suitable for vegetarians?
PiC x0 -
PIC if its free and in our area then im interested. Our local place that has the shopping centre attached is very expensive just to enter so I don't go there for any events. Shame we cant support a local event but when entry is getting up to £10 per person, not even something I would consider.
Silva well done with the booby squeeze, I had one earlier this year and it was a wee bit painful.
SQ deal!!! I am sitting around at the moment, keep thinking I should be doing the ironing but ICBA!!! that is a real first for me to leave things.
I am taking some shoes back to n look today, I ordered 3 pairs as they were in the sale, 2 are wide fitting and at £7 for a leather pair a bargain. I still have some from 3 years ago but they are about worn out, they have been repaired more than once.
Off to make a cuppa, catch ya's later .... xBSC member 137

silvasaver so pleased to hear better news
pic ordinary jelly babies are not suitable for vegetarians but there are various alternative around nowadays. M&S do veggie Percy pigs, haribo do veggie sweets and Good Stuff have a range of veggie sweets. Will add a link if I can find one.
Here we go, you can see some here but they are available in health shops not just on line http://www.shopvegan.co.uk/products.asp?Section=11300 -
nutty - you're on! Daily progress reports please. Great you are saying CBA to the ironing :T. Anyone else trying to get a bit more me time?
I have just done a couple of chores and now scoffing cherries on here before getting up again. I am getting an expert at doing a bit, then taking a little break and so on and so on. I don't tend to be good at long breaks especially in the day when I often have more time (than mad early morns and busy eves)so that works for me.
re ironing - I used to iron most stuff and now only iron about 1% of stuff like linen or special occasion stuff. Nutty I challenge you to leave one item say a top or pair of jeans, don't pick the most creased, hang it up well and then wear it! Yes you can do it!
If you could cut your ironing down even to say 50% you will free up a lot of time. I used to be ironing til late during the week - no more! There are several things I thought I could never give up on - alcohol and soaps (the watching kind) and have done both. Wonder if I will ever crack the sugar addiction though?? Food for thought

Survived the shopping trip, actually boys were fine and DS10 very helpful. DS7 and I had a few heated words.... over yoghurts... don't ask but sorted quickly. Boys wanted to put some different fruit in the trolley, usually get the more basic apples/pears/sats etc supplemented with tinned stuff. They got to choose something each - and I thought I would join in so cherries, pineapple and mango. How can I discourage healthy eating especially with the battle we have with DS7. To balance the fruit and pile of salad (DH wants to make up a massive one for rest of his lunches this week) we bought doughnuts! The jelly babies will have to wait for another shop. DS10 found some YS bread type bits so we have crumpets for breakfast tomorrow and wraps for another day.
Boys and I all have sore throats and coughs, not sure if hayfever or summer colds.
KEZLOU - you ok love?

SQ You make me laugh. I need no encouragement not to iron
but I'll join in the dare you Nutty, so I will second that challenge
Alfsmum thanks for the link. I will have a nose around and see what I can find.
I always had them jelly bean 3 for £1 at t's as they were suitable for veggies but they have stopped selling them grrrrrr Sainsbobs still had some last time I looked. Still not the same as jelly babies though
To hot to go outside so I've moved my home brew from the bucket to the demijohn, I feel a little squiffy now lol

:cool:Pic , you're not supposed to swallow it?.
I rarely iron now, it get hung up damp or in the bathroom for the steam to sort out, in fact I ve only touched my iron once in the last 4 months and that was to move it !!
Just been to get my eyes tested and need virifocals ? He said it was apart of growing up bless him, we know he meant olderSo I am £400 poorer.. And that was the deposit  but needs must..
Question... During my freezer reshuffle I left out some gooseberries. And they defrosted, so do I make a crumble or experiment with microwave jam? There's about 400gs??
It's very humid here again, and I'm shattered. So thinking cold sausage meat loaf and salad for tea. Think I can just face one more meal made of sausage before I turn into one..
Margaret , did you have any luck at the docs?

PIC - Our latest batch of homebrew is lethal - far to strong for me.
CC - £400 deposit!!!! Ouch! Hope you get on with them, DH got some last year but they made him feel sick and dizzy so he went back to just normal glasses.
It was so noisy and hot here with the windows closed and the builders grinding away at the back of the house - the dust it beyond belief....but hey - needs must. They'd finished the first bit by 2pm so we got out for a quick walk along the beach and into town before the rain hit - it's cooled down slightly now. I've just been out and washed down what I can in the garden, my runner beans were white with dust.
Just roasted off a chicken for a couple of rubber chicken meals this week....tonights is with wedges (in a marinade that's been in the larder for yonks) and some runner beans picked this morning. Yum!
Mr S had lots of "nude food" pots reduced - I liked them but wasn't going to pay full price but I picked up a "wrap box" - just the right shape for a wrap - funnily enough, a couple of new bottles and some screw up stacking pots for things like carrot sticks/raisins etc....wrap box was 80p, bottles £1.20 each (500 mls) and the screw top ones were £1.20 for 3. Wanted to pop in and thank Nutty for the Aldi voucher heads up. I thought it was next week! I've also just had their email and they have a number of things in the Thursday Special Buys that might help those of you who need children's clothes sorting--the sort of things that work for some school uniforms including white shirts--short sleeve at 2 for 1.99 and polos for 2 for 1.25. They also have gray skirts for girls, blue jumpers forth boys and girls and cardigans in navy. I know it can be a stretch for some so perhaps worth a look.
I'm reading along, just been a bit busy. Halfway through stripping the new to us dresser and deciding what colour to paint it. Lots of courgettes in the garden, and herbs doing well but slugs keep nibbling the rest no matter how many I pick off!
Hugs to Silvasaver, and anyone else who needs them.x0
