Morning all. Hope you're all ok. I've not had time to read back properly. Kidkat, I'm another one who thinks the less people you have to think about on a day out, the less stressful it is. Glad you had a lovely time.
Gardening for me today because it is dry for the second day in a row.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Morning toughies
its the morning after here today, I have loads to do including dropping car in for work, planting up my tomato and pepper plants, attacking the washing and organising shopping. dd8 has dance this morning too, I however have woken up feeling ill, at first I thought it was hayfever (and some of it maybe) but I am aching shivering and my throat and chest feel like I swallowed sandpaper so I think I have caught yet another cold.
Came home to kitten with diarrhoea again as well so need to visit the vetty person again. This time they will be doing a range of tests to discover the cause as the antibiotics worked only for two days and her litter mate has the same issue. It means I will need to speak to the breeder at some point to discuss the possibility its something passed through the litter. Our vet says when they know what they are dealing with they will contact the relevant people to visit her and discuss it.0 -
Evening folks,
Couldn't let the day end with just one post! Hope the kittie is ok kidcat? Glad you had a good day yesterday even if today was a hectic one.
I have been hobbling about all day. Not long after waking up. picked DS7's dressing gown off the bedroom floor to take downstairs for him without thinking and without bending my knees. Back protested, that horrible juddering feeling. Plans to take boys on an outdoorsy day scuppered.
DH dropped boys off at a restaurant to have a meal with his parents - they are enroute to their holiday. We planned to say hello and then eat somewhere cheap nearby but didn't want to risk the drive with my back. So DH dropped and ran. Apparently MIL gave DH "the look" especially when he mentioned my back. I know she wouldn't believe us but who cares 2 years now since I have seen her and FIL which suits me fine. Main thing is boys enjoyed seeing their grandparents (only 2nd time in a year) and grandparents equally happy so win win.
Have started on the enormous repairs/hemming pile at least but had to stop after about 40 mins.
Going to take one of DH's strong painkillers soon to see if I can get a good night's sleep and hoping my back will be much better tomorrow. Really want to get the boys out in fresh air and give DH some peace and quiet to study properly.

Hope the back eases soon SQ x"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Diarrhoea seems to have cleared again pooky but I think she needs testing anyway just so we know.
It's odd that two of the litter have this so I want to be sure what I am dealing with.0 -
Evening all - quiet in here today, been busy in RL myself.
The move is going ok - lots of things in boxes, lots of things chucked, lots of things charity-ed - OMG how much stuff do I have???
Painting also going ok - carpet guys say we have to do the gloss on the skirting and leave to harden for at least a week before the carpets go in so have done half of that tonight after the kids were in bed - left OH at home allegedly doing some revision for Tuesday but I suspect Royal Revolt 2 !! Will get the other half done tomorrow then can get back to the schedule!
DD had a fab time at riding today and really impressed me (and them) with how well she did - she's a star! We stopped off at B&Q for paint on way home - how expensive is paint these days? Was lovely to bump in to someone who used to work for my Dad who I've known since I was not much older than DD - so had a good chat and catch up - going to invite her for coffee and cake when we are properly in the new house.
Hope you are all well - Hxxx0 -
I hope puss is soon better Kidcat, SQ I hope your back feels better today.
Up early here as DD thought she might need to borrow the car, but she text to say she's ok. I've finally finished all 3 of the Frozen dresses I was making so once I've vacuumed up the glitter I can go back to the quillow I'm making, I also have 2 dresses to make & one to alter for me. I've also made 3yo DGD a dress from an old skirt of mine, she's Minnie Mouse mad & the skirt was red with white spots, I hope she likes it.
We have chicken for lunch it's really tiny, but I'm hoping that by serving it with yorkies & stuffing balls, veg from the garden & roasties there should be enough to make a pie, some sarnies, special fried rice & then soup. Food prices keep going up and some things I used to buy because they were cheap, ie lamb shanks & pork belly, have rocketed in price as soon as they became trendy, I did buy some neck of lamb from the butchers last week & some liver, both still cheap.
We have a few tight months ahead, what with the new pension scheme & our pay day date being moved, I just know this will go t1ts up & we'll end up not getting paid properly for a while.Chin up, Titus out.0 -
Morning all
Kidkat - Glad her tummy has settled - lets hope it's just something she'll grow out of.
Stilty - Sounds like the new place is coming together for you all. Paint is silly expensive, I don't know how people can afford to decorate so often....seems like lots of people I see on FB and the like are changing colours/wallpapers etc every few months. Madness.
Eyes went "ping" open at 5am - what good is that!!! Had friends here last night for a cuppa and a catch up, they left at 9.30 - we were all shattered, I went to the bathroom and there on the floor was a large gold fish....we don't have a pond. So sorry to whoevers pond in the village has been raided
Waiting for DH's meds to kick in then we're off to a boot sale. DD's and I are starting this 30 days Abs and Squats challenge thing today - so will need to fit that in before DD1 goes to work.
Forgot to get anything out the freezer for dinner so will do a tuna pasta for DD's and I - there's a bit of gammon left so DH can have that with pasta and salad. I'm finding food a real bore at the moment - does anyone else go through those phases? I seem to have no idea what to cook, or even what we eat. Everyone seems to be wanting something different everyday (which I don't want to pander to) I need a kick up the bahooke!"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Morning everyone, looks like it's finally going to be a nice day down here, there is a yellow thing in the sky, any ideas??? Docky came and woke us up at 6.30 licked good mirning wagged frantically ..... then came back downstairs and went back to sleep!!!
Food prices are a nightmare these days, nothing seems to stay the same, even the essentials/basics prices never seem to be the same every week when I shop, it's only pence but it makes planning a shopping list difficult. My main aim in life these days is to get as much Yellow Stickered as I can, I feel sometimes as if I'm living on the fringes of the retail system, our local shops here always refer to me as 'the canny lady' as I rarely buy anything that isn't reduced and I always say I'm Mrs Cheapskate. The problem is that the prices they are charging in the first place these days are now meaning that I can't afford even the prices the goods are reduced to any more, particularly in the Co Op where the prices are very fierce. Thank goodness we have the space and the equipment to provide some of our needs for ourselves by growing produce at home, otherwise I think food would become very bland, it would still keep us alive, but wouldn't be exciting.
DD2 was going to visit today but poor Zebra is being a bit poorly at the moment, I suspect his jabs on Thursday may be a factor but he isn't sleeping and is constantly wanting to nurse and his poor parents are at thier wits end and tired out!!! The text yesterday said I don't really feel like talking Ma so I'm hoping they'll let me go down for a few days just to do the running and cooking and give a little respite so DD can grab a nap in the day, we'll see and I'm so not wanting to be 'in thier space' as they need thier own lives as much as we do, but I hate it when they're having difficulties at a distance. Hopefully they'll have had a better night last night and will be feeling more positive today!!!
Hope you all have this lovely day and can enjoy as much of it as possible, it hardly seems possible but it's June 1st today and the newsreaders were talking about the summer solstice being only weeks away, let's hope the summer finally arrives before that eh? Lyn xxx.0
