Hi everyone, Pooky fingers crossed for nice weather for the prom. Posta pic afterwards please.
Mrs LW well done on the fireguard find. That's a great saving of money.
SQ = family..... Well my OH has exactly the same issues. It was his birthday last week, none of his family called, he was 50. He did get a card through the door eventually. His dad wont even speak to our girls either. His loss and its a big one, should they ever have any children of their own they will definatley not want OH family in their lives.
Please don't feel as though you have done anything wrong, they are grown up adults too and should act like it.
I had my meeting today at work, all went well. I will be embarking on a training program ready to be manager.
Take care everyone xBSC member 137

Hi SQ
Families can be a struggle, I sometimes wasn't the daughter my mother wanted & I was an only child, lol.

HuH - Know that feeling - 'Weighed & Found Wanting' & I was an only too!Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Fuddle, my Mum used to soak our white socks in a bucket with ordinary washing powder plus a dash of Domestos, probably didn't do much for the sock elastic, in retrospect, but gosh, they were white.
Yes, you can get Biotex still but I would use the Oxy stuff from the poundshop myself. Just the same formulation in all probability.
Trying to remember what I did use for DD's school socks all those long years ago - a soak with biological washing powder and perhaps a dash of bleach before a machine wash, methinks.
Strange how I can remember what Mum did better than what I did. Weird things, memories.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Just wanted to second the oxy stuff from the pound shop for fuddle. I use it for OH's white shirts and it works a treat. I actually just bung it in a white wash, but for tougher stains I have done a soak before. It gets most things out and won't damage the elastic as bleach would.
Special hugs for SQ.0 -
I buy the cheaper version of oxy, its a powder in the white and blue tub.

LOL at all the white sock .......... and yes Biotex is the best.
But spare a thought for this Mum and the 10 pairs of plain black socks that need to be paired ever week .......... without muddling up the big uns and the little uns - drives me dafter!!
Savingqueen - you can be my sis if you like ................ on here you can have all the family you need (and probably much more than you would want)

I think the problem with being an only is the 'All the eggs in one basket' effect, so all hope & dreams rest on one child's shoulders.
