Fairy, wonder how the accountant would have liked it to be told it was happening to him, only it would be a MONTH before he got paid... well done to your OH for stamping his feet :)

The Mirror had sold out when I got to the corner shop, but as it's a £45 shop that isn't the disaster it could have been. We had a mega sized turkey on Sunday and lots of leftovers to use up.
Freebies in the post today of two books.
My little chilli plants are thriving and some of the herb seeds I've planted have germinated. Apparently chilli has to get a bit pot-bound or it won't flower.

Glad you got it sorted Princess that's a bit naughty..

McC treat your chillis harshly,no pampering and overwatering they prefer being potbound and dryish :)

I googled to see where our nearest Aldi is and its MILES away so won't be going there anytime soon sadly,OH breathed a sigh of relief that he doesn't have to be dragged to yet another store lol

DS2 got paid for his work trial yesterday which I thought was so nice he's back there again Tuesday so it sounds like its possibly between him and another for the job.I've never seen someone so excited to go to work! He was honest about his ops etc so at least they can make an informed decision but its only office based mainly with a bit of field work when needed depending on the disaster,he was so keen I think he'd work there for free lol

Bread experiments beckon today and my parents are over later,my washing is drip drying on the line literally as it got left out and we had rain :)

    Good morning,

Not much to report today, but already anticipating my weekend. Unfortunately it looks as if it will be quite gray and drab, but no rain forecast tomorrow so perhaps I can get a bit done in the garden if we don't need to go into town for anything. It is coming along nicely, and OH has suggested we get a hydrangea (actually he just said I was doing so well to do the garden for so little money and he would just buy a few big showy plants. I took liberties with his ideas) for one of our new to us large pots. I've longed for one for several years but always decided they were too extravagant so as soon as they are available I will be ecstatic. I'd also love some peonies, but I think those might have to wait a bit. A friend of mine is giving me a few sweetpeas so between that and the veg hopefully the garden will feel homey:)

Waiting for a package today, hoping it will come in time for me to make it to the gym. I haven't been much lately and starting to feel the effects, it really does help me stay more positive and feel less anxious.

Thanks everyone. I am glad that you all agree that its totally bizarre. For a while there I assumed that the accountant might have actually been right and we would be in the brown stuff.

Just waiting to see whether OH will get paid today. (He gets weekly pay) but fuming isn’t the word. I find nowadays honesty & trust is non existent. Shame because it causes doubt for the innocent people you know.

Aldi’s….I too have noticed that some cashiers like to speedy through peoples shopping. In some respects its refreshing. However, I have been known to ask them to slow down or call for a manager as I absolutely will not buy items that is being thrown on the floor or slammed into a trolley. Once I brought a bottle of lemonade, The cashier scanned it through so quickly I completely missed catching it and it fell to the floor bursting all over me. I asked for a manager and complained. He said that they wouldn’t charge me for the item. (I should think not) and that I could get a replacement & that the cashier will be re-trained.

Not happy with that, (I was coated in lemonade in the summer months too) I wrote to Aldi head office and I have to say. They was very understanding and credited me with a £10 voucher. So sometimes, It does pay to complain. Now, However, I only got to the same cashier, Who works on a Saturday and is very patient.

Anyways…Off to walk the pooches now. Take care all. And thanks for all the replies.
    Future goals:
    Become debt free.
    Beat Depression.
    Be happy & healthy

D&DD, great that your DS got paid for something he loved doing, fingers crossed for him.

I am off now to counselling, missed last session as twas in school hols (they are fortnightly) Not feeling as apprehensive about going today but only have 3 more sessions after today and that's not nearly enough - bit concerned about how I will fare after the last onr

DS7 and I got to sleep the whole night through.... phew... both still tired but hoping another good night will help us enjoy the weekend

hope everyone has a good day whatever you are up to
    sq :)
  • Two drownded ratties have just dripped back in through the door!!!!! Poor things, never mind towels down for rollies for the lurcha and dry sockses and a coffee for his Dadi have made it all better. What a dismal day out there today, it's colder too but I expect the rain will do wonders for the garden (unfortunately also the weeds!) I think if it stays cold this afternoon we'll light the woodstove again and warm up the house which feels a little damp in the air. I've put a lovely sausage and bacon casserole into my wonderbag this morning and by lunchtime we should have a lovely meal which has only cost 20 minutes worth of gas to make. That is 10 minutes to saute the veg and brown the meat and the 10 minute rolling boil you need to do before putting the pan into the insulated bag. I hope it works well and that I can use it most of the time from now on, of course I'll have to learn how but it should save us much money in fuel. I'll let you know how the dish turns out. Had a lovely Skype chat with DD and Zebra yesterday and he noticed the screen for the first time and got very curious and kept leaning forward to see. He waved his little arms back and kept smiling at the face in the screen, it was lovely. I'm off to the shops on the bus in a minute when He Who Knows gets back from an errand to see what reductions W8rose are prepared to make for me this morning. I've found they start reducing at around 11 o clock in the morning and can usually find some yummy things I'd not even consider at full price for a price I can afford to pay. I've also got an Iceland next door to it and a good greengrocer in the centre too so will be able to cater for the first part of the week and the weekend. Have a good one, Lyn xxx.

Oh my toughies what a day, have woken up with a temp, horrible sore throat that feels blocked and feel generally yuck, DS10 was awful, and I only just managed to get him to school, he has destroyed the top floor again and there are DVDs etc strewn down the stairs.
DD19 last night had a major flip at DS15 who was commenting on her continually saying she has tonnes of work to do but then spending hours on the phone. she physically went at him and I had to intervene. Had long talk to her later but am not sure she is aware of just how much she has changed since being with the current BF, she was always helpful, honest and reliable, now she lies, complains about helping and regularly leaves stuff half done. Grrrr kids

OH has done over 70 hours again this week and isnt finished yet, talk is he will be in tomorrow as well. Its draining us all, and stuff is being left as I just can't keep everything up. Have a huge pile of stuff that need taking to the tip - but its too heavy for me to lift. Hoping that he will be off Sunday and can take it then when he takes the sofas - but am worried he will end up working and I will be left trying to break the sofas up, lift the carpet and get it all downstairs and to the tip.

MrsLW - I can picture you and Zebra chatting online and its lovely, these are the times when internet comes into its own keeping you close to your grandson even though you are miles away :)

D&DD hope your son gets the job, its so hard these days for those trying to get started.
