Howdy folks,
Yesterday seemed to be one of those days - amongst other things, our (only) TV packed up, it was an ancient F-A-T screen so our boys were delighted to get a flatscreen. DS9 in particular is in 7th heaven, we used to get the occasional "we are the only house without a flat screen you know mum". DH choose a new one, I nodded approval but didn't realise the size. its probably fairly average but compared to our little old TV, it seems massive.
Then DH with the new TV jammed in the back couldn't see the hedge reversing onto our drive so we have lots of new stratches on probably the only part of the car that was scratch free - now the car is matching everywhere, lovely.
I feltlreally out of sorts, went to bed and slept soundly for about 3 hours. DH woke me to say he was getting Mccraps for dinner and I was so groggy I just murmured something which eas enough for him to bolt out of the door. It was nice not to cook but I winced at the cost.
This morning DS9 got up 5.45 am, usually I have trouble getting him up by 7.45. Came down at 6.45 to find him dressed, ready and breakfasted already, wrapped up in a blanket glued to the new telly. DS7 up and ready by 7.15. Wow I thought this is a good start to the new term. Got to school, DS9 twisted his ankle and had to limp back to the car, I realised I had left the clean PE kits at home and then DS7 had a big wobble same as always 1st day back. DS9 back to school by 10.45, ankle fine. Holidays are most definitely over ha ha!!
 to the B&B stories! I can do smilies again
hope you feel better soon burtha, a trip to the docs maybe as you mentioned might be in order...

Afternoon all,
Yes, SQ the dentist was fine. She says everything looks healthy probably down to a change in my medication. I'm such a chicken, I've never even had a filling so the least little thing has me worried.
Cant decide which thing on the menu plan to make for tea tonight. I had some cream that needed using up yesterday so made whipped cream--one with vanilla and another with a spoon of nutella. Thinking pudding tonight is the last of that dolloped into a mug of hot chocolate.
SQ, it sounds like your DH is looking after you...maybe not doing it all as you would, but at least stepping in.
Right, a bit more work to finish off before OH gets home. Kitty is sound asleep on the windowsill near my desk--ah the life of a cat!0 -
Hello everyone,
Thought I'd share a little funny scenario with you...........
DS the (middle one aged 14) asked if he could age some paper so I let him get on with it and walked into him putting milk and two sugars in the tea..........yep :rotfl::rotfl:
I had to ring my friend who's DD rang her several years ago, while she was at T's, to ask if she could buy two single creams as they had ran out of double....... Still the raining child funny of all time!

Children do say the funniest things sometimes. My DS a few years ago (aged about 9 I think) was keen on the Horrible Histories books, and he read the one about the city of York, where the Vikings had a few battles. I found it hard not to laugh when he described to me how the Vikings mascara-ed the Normans.......had visions of both armies, make-up bags at the ready.......One life - your life - live it!0

then there was the time when my DD was at senior school, and in a German lesson the class were rehearsing a play involving soldiers defending a castle. One soldier, hearing noises, meant to say "Halt! Oder Ich schiesse!" (Halt! Or I'll shoot)
What he actually said was " Halt! Oder Ich scheisse!"
(I am sure you can guess how that translates, if not, I am sure Mrs LW can explain it!)One life - your life - live it!0 -
Could, but Won't!!!0

I'm guessing scatological in nature Nargle??
DD is back to school tomorrow -is it rotten of me to say a quiet little yay? - I'm absolutely exhausted and have a stinking backache from all the extra lifting and supporting. Had a lovely day at stay and play though to round off what has been a lovely, if tiring, holidays.
Need to buckle down to planning my end of module assignment tomorrow so I can run through it with my tutor and get on with writing it so it is all done and dusted before our holidays as it is actually due in while we are away. Then that's the back of my 5th module and only one more to go to finish my degree. Can't quite believe how fast it's gone really, especially seeing DS arrived half way through my first module and he's about to turn 3 next month!
Will be putting the sausages, bacon and some veg into the slow cooker tomorrow so I don't have to think about dinner, then DH can do something similar with some YS stewing beef on Thursday while I'm out being important (lol - parent carer forum conference planning meeting, but I can big myself up!!)
Hope you are all well - hugs and thoughts where needed or wanted - Hx0
