Happy Easter!
Re: the nappy rash. A family friend (87years young) told my brother about using canston cream for nappy rash. xx
I was right then, it WAS thrush. Canesten is for thrush, it's always my first suspect when I hear of a nappy rash that won't heal.
Like the thrush that some of us get, it happens when the balance of gut flora is upset. Pleased it's been sorted, the raw bleeding skin it produces is so sore and painful.
Cooking a mahoosive turkey that DS bought from A!di weeks ago. I think I still have a bag of bits from the Christmas bird in the freezer.. :rotfl:

Happy Easter everyone.
Sorry to hear poor collie is poorly. Ouch at the vet bills.
We have spent a wet day at sea life centre in Weymouth which was a brilliant place. After Ds10 struggled yesterday I decided tripping across to Isle of Wight on the ferry works have been too much for him.
Its the first ever big holiday I haven't spent in the kitchen stressing over a perfect dinner and is ben liberating. We are having take away pizza for dinner tonight while I pack and load car ready for our early start in the morning. We are planning legoland then home so it's a full day.0 -
Speaking of nappy rash.. does anybody have a fav face cream? My skin has got so dry it's unbearable. It hurts when I smile or yawn, it's so dry, all flakey and rough. I can't use Cocoa Butter though. Best thing I've found is Germolene ointment but it's very sticky!
Ive also got extra extra dry skin all over, so Ive been using body butter for a couple of years and its brilliant, even use it on my face, it lasts the whole day on my face , certaintly gets rid of the tightness feeling on your face, better than any expensive face cream, give it a go, the body shop sells the best there is , so if you go on ebay its always cheaper than their own shops...........
Hope your all enjoying easter, love this time of year , cos its spring and everything comes alive ..........
Not been on here much as I love to get outside , and it seems such a waste of time sitting on the net, but I do like to come on here after tea, if I can keep my eyes open..........Normally in bed by 9 ............
Weather has been beautiful apart from today , and we just have lots of cloud but no rain, sun did shine at tea time .........
FUDDLE ...I always use a little bleach in the washing up bowl with dishcloths and if tea spoons or mugs need extra cleaning , just give them a good rinse and alls ok.............
Right im gonna sit back and watch countryfile , catch you all later...Sheila0 -
Kidcat - if you're going to Legoland make sure you take your own picnic. some of our family with youngsters have said the food there is pricey!
Have a fab day 'cos weather report is dry for tomorrowSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
Evening all
Fuddle - Lovely to hear you so settled and happy - amazing what such an uproot can do for you all. Is DH enjoying his new job?
Kidkat - You're fitting a lot into your break away! Have fun at the land of lego tomorrow - we've done it a few times, DD's loved it when they were the right age for it. (I loved the lego model bit - not fussed with rides)
It's been so cold and damp here all day - we've had thunder and yellow skies, dark black brooding skies and torrential rain and then 6pm the sun comes out!!! What's the point of that! I gave in and put the heating on for a few hours as the house just felt so cold and damp. DD1 is working 8 hours - her shop is the only one open for miles around and she sent me a text during her meal break to say it was so busy. She doesn't finish until 10pm so will be shattered tomorrow.
Skin cream wise - I only use the old fashioned blue tub of nive@ - cheap as chips but lovely stuff."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Thanks silvasava and pooky we plan stopping at superstore to fill up on diesel first thing so will grab a few sandwiches before we go.
Pooky I stopped at a mr t express today to buy bread and it was so busy I was stunned. The number of people trying to buy chickens etc to do easter dinner was incredible.
The poor staff were frazzled by the complaints about the lack of fresh meat. So I do pity your poor dd.
Have been told that there is some kind of buffet deal at lego after 3pm which is good value, am hoping to feed everyone a good meal before we leave as we then have a four hour journey home. Would rather do the travel in one run than break it down. Have packed a bag with pjs etc ready to get kids changed as we get into car to head home.0 -
That's what we used to do after days out like that Kidkat - save all the wet rides until last, let them get as soggy as they liked and then back to the car for dry jimjams, shove a blanket over them and they'd be asleep before we got onto the motorway"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. Fuddle I'm so glad it's all working out.
Kidcat the wet rides can get you very wet! I hope the weather is better for you than today. It was yukky driving back from Kent today.
I got a joyous welcome from the two dogs and wasn't able to move off the sofa for a good hour. DH had a good Easter present yesterday, a bonus payment from last year's 1 yr contract job that he knew nothing about! We have celebrated with Dominos Pizza at the children's request.0 -
We've been to Legoland a few times now,I don't quite know how we could ever face a return trip after the first time was such a disaster lol. Literally as we pulled up in the car park DS3 wet himself and DS2 threw up all over the car and his lap...spent the first two hours drying off DS3 in the loos under the hand dryer as we had no spare clothes and the store didn't have anything to fit him and spongeing down ds2 and the car..happy memories!!
Sorry to hear the wonderous collie is under the weather hope he feels better soon Rosie sends a snort and a slurpXX
Fuddle I must say you sound so much happier in your posts now so glad to see things are working out for you XX
Hope everyone had a lovely day today the weather here has been foul but much needed rain for the garden and it made me do some housework *shrieks in horror* ...0 -
