Fuddle, don't buy new fabric, repurpose. The hexi quilt I'm working on is mainly my old floral scrub tops and small bits off cuts I've bought in the craft store. I just spent a weekend taking the tops apart and had loads of material. Old pillowcases provide a fair bit of fabric as well.

You sound so much happier since the move. It's like we have a new Fuddle.

I've managed to catch whatever bug is going around. The dogtor said I would live. The Collie went to see him and as I couldn't see my doctor, I told his dogtor what was wrong and he said "lots of fluid, take some Tylenol, and nap" then he scratched me behind the ears. I love that man.

Anyhoo, Mr. Colle. Yes, he is a fairly unwell Collie. Turns out the hairloss was due to a tick bite and a following skin infection. So, $285 later, he has been treated for ticks, and is on antibiotics for a month. I've had to break the dose down from twice a day to four times a day as he was just vomiting everything up. He tacks his pills wrapped in liverwurst and I make sure he gets some bread and peanut butter down him to keep his stomach settled. I think I'm going to sprinkle some probiotics in his food as well just to be on the safe side.

    Have a wonderful Easter

Hope Mr Collie is on the mend soon.

Another one here in North Yorkshire who stays at home during bank holidays.

Fuddle - family wise I only keep in touch with my nieces by sending them birthday and Christmas presents which I know are appreciated. They are all getting older now, so will leave the decision to them as to whether they want to keep contact with me.

I hope everyone is having a lovely long weekend.
Spend less now, work less later.

    Good morning all, HAPPY EASTER!!

Yesterday was a lovely day out as a family, both DD's came with us. We ended up at the cath kidson factory shop and then had a wander around Milton Keynes shopping centre. It was nice to chat and look, I bought a top that is so different to my usual choice but I love it.
Today is a chill out day, its raining and quite cold so I expect we will be at home all day doing nothing. I decided yesterday to message my area manager and accept the job on principal, as long as I get sundays off and I will be given help. Time will tell if they agree.
Well I suppose I need to get showered and dressed, going to list a few more bits and pieces on ebay to sell. I have sorted some bits out for car booting as well - its amazing how much better I feel after I have sorted out .

    Afternoon toughies.

    Happy Easter!

Shattered isn't the word in this household.

OH has worked Friday, We managed to do the party yesterday, Never got home until well after 11, After being up at 5am.
Its chore day here, Means meal planning (Never managed to do that the other day) ordering shopping to be delivered when OH gets paid.

And he is back at work tomorrow. Luckily time & half!

Re: the nappy rash. A family friend (87years young) told my brother about using canston cream for nappy rash. The really mild one. So, brother went to the pharmacy and asked there. They totally agreed. So within a day the redness, swelling, itching has completely gone. Baby is much happier too.

Hope everyone enjoys their Sunday. xx

Good day to you all :) the grass is getting a good watering today. I don't at all mind as we have had a long spell of lovely weather of late so it's well needed and we can't be spoilt can we now? ;)

A lazy day for us in the house. Well I say lazy, we are both doing house work so... I guess I mean a chilled day in the house in comfy clothes. We were supposed to be going on an Easter egg hunt but have decided we would just get soggy.

Pork chops for tea, carrots sweet corn and peppercorn sauce. I am going to make a cheese and tomato quiche for lunches tomorrow. I am working till lunch time so will be something to grab for me and DH with the girls.

I am happy thank you. We have the work/life balance sorted, money worries have eased for the first time in our 10 years together, we are happy where we live and feel safe, family is less of a stress and cannot pull my strings any more, we live in an area that we can do things as a family, experience and enjoy and can experience the holiday life any evening we want to. We are all the happiest we have ever been and whatever life throws at us we are home here and will never regret the move.

Fuddle, that's really nice to read - I am glad everything is working out well for you & your little family in your new home, after all the upset & worry you have had before.

  • Hello all - quiet day here.....not feeling great!

Just had chicken salad for lunch, DD is going to do dinner and I'm going to relax and mooch on the forum!

Hope you all have a good day - catch up later xx
  • Good afternoon and HAPPY EASTER to you all.

We have had two lovely days of sunshine here in the North East so I don't mind the cloudier sky today. The chill wind has never let up though so not been suitable for sunbathing - which I never do - so the beaches have been empty which is a shame. :(

As have spent most of the last three days at church - legs complaining at all the standing but I'm not, such a joyous morning with a baptism to top it off - this afternoon is a sit and do very little time. Mind you I still have the crochet hook working so am not totally idle.:rotfl:

Sorry you're not feeling well LINKYPIE2009. Hope you soon feel better.

Am so glad things going well for you fuddle and that you are all enjoying your new life.

    Have a good day.
Use it up, Wear it out, Make it do, Do without.
  • FUDDLE now do you believe it was all meant to be my lovie? Just look how far you've all come in the last 16 months and hold up that head and be so very proud of the courage and strength of conviction that has brought you safely to harbour in your new lives, I hope you can see as clearly as I can how much you've grown and how different your outlook is, if I was proud of you before, it pales into the background of how proud of you I am NOW!!!!! You've arrived pet, congratulations!!! Lyn xxx.
