    :wave:Hi everyone,

I'm feeling quite excited and positive today. I've yet to fully catch up on the thread but hugs and positive vibes for all that need them.
After a pretty carppy week I have finally unearthed a big box of summer clothes and discovered unworn bargains from last year :j:j:j
Things that I picked up in the sales last year and had forgotten about. I have a jumper, a couple of dresses and 7 tops along with 4 packs of socks :D . I feel like I've just got a new wardrobe.

    Hi gintotmelinda, welcome!

the cake I hope you're new room is giving you as much pleasure today as it did yesterday. I only learned what disinfectant was about 2 weeks ago, and that's for toilets in our house. Everything just gets thrown in the washing machine.

Remember how my washing machine/combined dryer was broken a few weeks back and put a make shift line up in the garden? Well it gets my goat putting the tumbler on in this weather and have been thinking about how to erect a line on the cheap. Sussed it this morning. 20m plastic line for 69p in H0me Barg4ins. It's wrapped round the top and bottom fences and working a treat. Not sure if I will use it in the wind as may put too much pressure on the fence pieces... but in the next few weeks I will save some money on electric, I'm sure of that! I don't want anything investment wise/permanent as we'll be moving in less than 6 months.

Also splashed (pun!) out on a paddling pool for DD's £3 in 4sda. It will be the source of much fun free fun in the garden over the summer so thought it was a money saving thing to do.

BBQ for us tomorrow, but only after getting DD her clothes solution. Really happy that she's chosen a canvas covered wardrobe that is reduced to £16. :D Perfect for families on the move and as it's pink its a winner for DD. Might get a couple of deck chairs with the rest of the nectar point. I don't know. Could well do with one of those picnic benches. It will mean putting money towards it and will most probably rot over the winter. Will think on it :)

Enjoy the weather everyone. Keep suncreamed!! £2.89 in Aldi and Lidl if I recall. Love to all x

If you agree to the lobbying of parliament to get the 20% tax taken off suncream please would you sign the e-petition :)http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/49811
  • Hello GINTOT welcome aboard, we're all a little alternative over here, but that sometimes leads to lateral thinking and results you've never dreamed of!!!!!! If there's only one piece of advice I would give on retirement it is this, it's lovely to have time together doing things, BUT it's also lovely to have space to do things apart. For us, the way to happiness and harmony is to let each other have as much space as we need at all times. Then we enjoy the shared times all the more when we have them. We both enjoy growing our own fruit and veg and it does help to keep the outgoings down and if you've read ony of my posts before you'll know we are besotted with a certain Lurcher who allows us to share the house with him, he's really as much fun as you CAN have with a doggie and still stay legal!!! So maybe the way to happiness is to get a Lurcher, I admit to a certain bias here, enjoy retirement and enjoy joining in with us here, Cheers Lyn x.
  • FUDDLE I've just looked on Fleabay and put the search in for PORTABLE FOLDING PICNIC TABLE and there are quite a few of these which are basically tough plastic and metal versions of the wooden benches you can get, these have the built in bench seats too. They seem to come in at under £30 and wouldn't rot in the winter because you can fold them up and store them in the shed, Don't know if this would be a better bet for you? Cheers Lyn xxx.

I got one of those folding tables when we were running the business, as I was using the table in the mornings so needed somewhere for the DCs to have their breakfast. I really wouldn't recommend unless they are different - ours was from Argos I think.
It was tiny and very flimsy.

Hi everyone :) just trying to catch up on all the posts, and read siegemode's, regarding the fibromyalgia. I too come out with the wrong words such a lot. There have been some very funny moments too:) If I say them outside I have some very strange looks, but in the family we do joke at them. I have said the following at times.
Oh look I see Avocado are delivering groceries now (acado) typed in email address wrong at the end of htmail .co.uk I typed Hotmail.co.ok :) I say odd words at times too, but at this moment I can't remember them all.
I read of some people on here who have Fibro and can't sleep. When I went to my gp after I was diagnosed with it, I told him I was still sitting up at 3 and 4 am Crazy. He put me on a drug called Amytriptlene and I take it at night and have slept very well ever since. It helps you go into your deep sleep which refreshes us. Hope you all have a good weekend and welcome to anyone new here:) I will say bye and carry on catching up with you all. Margaretxx

Hey what a good idea Lyn! It could be stored in the shed and put in the boot for picnics!

Maybe not from Argos but ill look in go outdoors next time I'm passing. Portable solution ;) I like!

My neighbours are in the garden, swearing, naughty words blaring out the music system. My girls will be out there in an hour. I hope they pull back when they do. My two know all about naughty words that mean disgusting things, hear them at school I'm sure, but they know not to say them because people around them will be disappointed in them. I'm not bothered about them hearing a word as they'll go 'eeeeee mam did you hear that!' It's just unpleasant to sit listening too when you're relaxing in your home :(
  • It's a summer thing FUDDLE, the house next to us is rented and there is a lovely family in there with an 18 year old son and a 15 year old daughter. We've never had any trouble with them the kids and Mum and Dad are lovely, but, we had to have words earlier in the week, Dad runs his own business and has a nephew working for him who was doing something with stores and he and the 18 year old spent the day in the garden with the music up so loud we couldn't hear the TV, smoking so we couldn't have the windows open and swearing thier heads off, so we didn't want to!!! But it was so warm indoors shut in, it was uncomfortable. I had a quiet word with Mum in the evening when she came home from work and thank goodness there hasn't been a repeat, but, if looks could kill from the nephew I wouldn't be here now!!!!! Hope your neighbours don't keep it up for too long, good luck, Lyn xxx.

They were also trying to fix a broken motor bike on the patio and spent all day trying to start it wothout success so we filled up with fumes too!!!!!

    Welcome Gintot :)

Well done on the win Tatty :T

Nuttyp, hope the ads are helping you and that you have a lovely day out tomorrow.

GINTOT, spooky, was just looking at coffee n walnut and lemon drizzle recipes as there is a bake sale at work next week. Trying to settle on a few quick and easy things as it will be too hot to sweat in the kitchen however good the cause.

Quietly sweltering here today, sitting with the fan full on and to hell with the bill :rotfl: dogs don't know what to do with themselves and one of the cats is flat out on the kitchen floor trying to cool down.
