Looks like things are positive for now for many of us, I'll worry about the future at the time it happens as it will. For now, you know of my trips(I hope)to the Proms/bands in D'ham this weekend.

May be at the Nat. Railway Museum on Wed special exhibition on, the singer I saw on Tues has some local shows(low admission prices)and whilst I have a bus pass(not hopeful for the future of that)I hope to see another concert next Fri in an old church in D'ton built in 1190.

See her here but she sings so many different styles and is so entertaining between songs.

And with sunny weather and my picnic stuff I may go and see two parks approx 60 mins away I've never seen before in Kezlou/Fuddle's area, Ropner and Stewart's Park weather and health permitting.

I may have to invest in some sun lotion so thanks for the tip Fuddle. Me buying sun lotion:eek:

OH has been made redundant/retired and I don't work at present so we are looking to make our money streeetch. He is 62 and wants to wind down into retirement. This is day 4............

We still have a son at home........oh well.

Any advice about helping us to manage the life change? OH still thinks he is on holiday and it hasn't sunk in yet. Maybe when he gets his refundancy money at the end of this month it will become more real.
I was reading about that very subject yesterday on this blog
    http://simple-living-in-suffolk.co.uk/2013/04/retirement-isnt-like-a-long-weekend-or-a-long-vacation/

and he has links to a variety of early retirement bloggers. So that'll give him Something To Think About :D I suggest reading it yourself, first.

Ropner is nice pops, cafe there, lovely walk around the ponds but it does have a play area so on a day like tomorrow you might be swamped with noisy kids... er lovely cherubs enjoying the sun :D

Pork chops, salad and boiled potatoes for tea.

Now school Summer hoidays are here that is likely Fuddle:pbut great to see parks still being used and popular. Perhaps I'll visit during the week.

Sorry that time in the garden is being spoilt by people not thinking either by choice or just oblivious.

    Your meal sounds lovely...

  • POPS I envy you the Railway Museum, I have a passion for steam trains and love the little steam railways that are still run by groups of devotees, it's such a nostalgic thing to ride on a steamer and smell the smoke, I ride then whenever I can, enjoy it so much. Is the one you're going to the one with the 6 Mallard type Engines including the Sir Nigel Gresley in exhibition at the moment? If so enjoy it for He Who Knows and me, the girls treated him to a footplate day on the Alton Watercress Line for christmas a few years ago, he stoked, blew the whistle, had bacon and eggs cooked on a shovel in the fire box and actually had the controls for a few seconds on a straight piece of line, lovely stuff. Mind I didn't miss out they got me a Hot Air Balloon Flight which was amazing, enjoy your day, Cheers Lyn xxx.

Hello and a big welcome to you gintot! Hello everyone else!

For DS9 I attended NHS and NCT antental classes and read all the books. Boy was I keen! Did a detailed birth plan, even bought DH new trunks for the water birth. Ended up a dash to hospital, the midwife just laughed at my birth plan and an emergency caesarean followed.

For DS6 I hoped for the natural birth I didn't get first time. Strapped to monitoring thingies the whole time. I had a ventouse (didn't work) followed by forceps for DS6 - and the accompanying episiostomy (sp?), needed gas and air for the needlework after that alone! Still avoided a 2nd caesarean so all worth it.

    Tea splutter warning...

My boys know which way they were delivered (love the sunroof analogy!) and are fascinated by it all. DS9 has seen my caesarean scar and I am hoping DS6 (is that the car door then?!) will never make a similar request!!!!!

Had a mad and lovely day at our school's nursery/reception sports day in the blistering heat. I love being with the littlies but such hard work at the same time. I had a cunning plan, I took a picnic lunch in a coolbag to school and walked to my friend's across the road at lunchtime to chill out with her before the afternoon session started.

Only downside today is they are restructuring the nursery (for good reasons) and the TA is loosing her job. She wasn't told but was worried and asked ahead of being told just today. She is a single mum and absolutely hurt and gutted. The other staff I suspect will be kept on (all been there for years, including the TA) but they haven't been told officially. The atmosphere during the quiet, tidy up times was very strained. I could only hug my TA friend and even typing this have tears welling up for her.

I can smell a BBQ....and I'm tired and hungry.... shame it isn't ours. I have nothing planned for dinner and no quick cook options so best get off my btm and be inventive. Hiding on our bed with a cuppa and some naughty biscuits has helped though.

back later... be good while I'm gone :D

    sq:)
